Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it
- WoW Ace - Alpha Quality
- Curse - Stable release
- WoWInterface - Stable release - Quite out of date

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

Curious why High Society Top Hat does not appear in this addon.
wanted to let you know that your addon blocks the use of Archy- Archaeology Assistant
Think I may have solved a relatively low priority problem for this add-on:
Is the Faction listed as "Unknown_941" under TBC supposed to be The Mag'har - the Horde equivalent to The Kurenai...?
With Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard changed the GetFactionInfoByID function to only return valid data for factions your character can gain reputations with. Since the factions a given character can't ally with is a relatively small subset, writing special-case code to handle user-localized names for each was something I elected not to do. I may revisit that decision in the future, with Legion.
There seems to have been a loss of functionality some time fairly recently. I am not sure when.
When I look at my list in the Enchanting module, the part/item that the enchant can be applied to is missing. For example there are three items displaying "Minor Agility". I have to mouse over each item to see a tooltip that tells me which part/area that applies.
There does not seem to be a setting to revert to the older method of diplaying.
Can you help, please.
Hi Ocgineer.
Haven't played wow since the end of Wrath, came back and started using mods again after two months. Having issues with where to put the profession mod folders. I don't have a need for a few of the professions, but all of them seem to have over-lapping files, like Core.lua; Discoveries.lua, Recipes.lua etc.
Do I leave them in their respective folders, and put the extra's somewhere specific so ARL knows they exist? Drop the folders into a sub-folder inside of ARL? Or something else.... right now I only have DBM, ARL, and AtlasLoot for mods, so it's unlikely another mod causing the ARL error that tells me:
[[Error no profession module addons were found. As of version ... blah blah blah. ]]
All of the folders go in Interface\AddOns right next to Ackis Recipe List itself.
Hmm, odd then I seem to be having an issue :\ I have the addon folders sitting next to ARL core and it doesn't notice them. I'll try deleting, and only using one addon, and verify it works with only one profession before adding more.
Edit: just deleted, and checked with a fresh download of just the cooking addon, still getting the same error. Folder named either the downloaded [AckisRecipeList_Cooking-6.2.0.3] or [AckisRecipeList_Cooking] in the main wow/interface/addons folder, and ARL doesn't seem to recognize.
Edit 2: and now suddenly it chooses to work this time, I'm very confused and going to add some other professions one by one until either it stops working again, or I withdraw the issue.
Edit 3: Ok, last night when I posted with the files where they are now, it didn't work. Now all professions work, very confusing, but it works so I'm not going to complain. Thanks
Hey.
I installed this addon like 1 year ago and deleted it now, since I don't need it anymore.
unfortunately my wow keeps crashing since I deleted it from my addons ordner. any fix for this?
sincerely,
naulii
AddOns are completely separate from the WoW client binary; their presence or lack thereof is of no consequence to the operation of the client.
If you come visit me, and provide information I ask for, I can figure out the cause of your crash, and help you fix it... But ARL won't be the cause.

Well, I dont understand this IRC. Could we talk via PM or something?
when scanning multible professions, we've been able to just click the profession icon (upper left in the scan window) to go to the next profession.
but for a while now, when you get to mining, it won't click to the next profession.
don't know if it makes any difference, but it's called "smelting" on the wow icon, and "mining" on arl.
and thanks, love this mod
I've found another bug, this time with the Cooking (I suspect it is with other professions as well). When playing as an alliance race, uncheck the 'horde' faction. The Horde recipes will still be visible, but when clicking on the little (+) will not expand it to show the vendor name. A message also comes up:
'No recipes to display. If you see this message please submit a ticket to [wowace website/arl/tickets]..."
im just wondering if there is any way that archeology can be added to the quickscan list used on the titan panel?
Hi, Torhal & Team
When I ocassionally look through unlearned items in ARL, I sometimes get confused by the logic applied to Sources of unlearned recipes.
Let me clarify:
With the above said, however, I'm not a coder & don't know what complexity can be handled, by querying & flagging, to make the above possible without adding too much demand on system resources; so, if the above scenarios are a nightmare to code for I'll bow to greater knowledge than mine & stick with what I'm given.
If required, I can look for examples of the above to clarify further.
Thanks in advance & apologies if this post is in the wrong place &/or causes any of you major headaches. :(
From my observation, there are two reasons for this:
I'm now starting to think I'm over complicating how the code works - in the Enchanting Recipes List, http://www.thottbot.com/item=35298 is only tagged as a MOB DROP (Kael'thas) but not INSTANCE (Magister's Terrace), yet both are valid.
I know you have the three tabs for "Acquisition", "Location" & Recipes", but this is just an example of how confusion comes about.
I can't say I would know if this really IS an issue (or 'just me'), but is 'fixing' this something that makes ARL &/or it's components more resource hungry?
Thanks again.
It wouldn't make it use any more resources, really. It's just a matter of coming up with a way to do this that doesn't exhibit the confusion of the current methodology.
