Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

Is there anyway to see other missing add-ons from another character's profession with Ackis? Let's say I was looking up a enchantments on wowhead and I was on my alchemist. I found an enchantment that would help out with my fishing skill. So I wanted to see if I had that enchantment on my character without having to switch over. I know I can possibly do this with add-ons like altoholic, but I was hoping to be able to do it with Ackis. When it comes to things like this, I'm a little OCD, I like things done a certain way. Thanks.
This used to be possible before Blizzard completely broke the ability to store/read TradeSkill links with the launch of MoP. Instead of spending the time coming up with a way to store and read these in detail, I dropped the feature.
For more information on what was broken and to see another example of an AddOn that was affected, read the description of https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/professionsvault
Sorry just saw this.. That sucks that they did that... Thanks for making an awesome add-on though, and I appreciate the quick reply, even though I was way late...
Whats the benefit of this addon now since the blizz window is showing now unknowing recipes and locations where to gather them as well?
For me, the fact that the Blizz unknown recipes can't be sorted by skill level. There's no way I've found to narrow it down to just ones I don't have but can learn at my current skill while leveling, whereas my default order on Ackis is by skill level.
That's a good one. It convinced me to 100%. Thanks a lot :)
Not sure if it's this addon or something else interfering with tooltips or the like, but I'm experiencing some serious lag when I scroll down through my unknown recipe lists... Anyone else having this?
Why scan this addon, recipe what you can't achieve anymore? Why it scanning all time the same recipe what i have?
Go into the filters and turn off "Known" - that displays recipes you know.
Your addon have sometimes problems to scan my cooking. I disable (as example) World Events and your addon told me i can buy Gingerbread Cookie or winter Veil Egg Nog in OG.
I think it is better to change the addon with less search method. Example like Blizzard new Unlearned method with the point to disable (world events or other recipes)
hey Torhal. I love your addon and have for years.
I've got a new bug* with the current version 7.0.3.5 after updating all modules again it is persisting - and I'm not sure which module is likely to be the culprit.
The ackis window - displaying the acquisition page appears. This happens on login, on landing from a flight point, or porting (and on one occasion when looting - i have enchantrix and tsm which may have triggered a destroy choice simultaneously)
there is no error being generated - just this bonus chance to check out the missing patterns :P
I suspect it may in part be related to tsm triggering my crafting windows when it detects I am running linked accounts and checking things. Unfortunately turning off TSM does not resolve the issue completely.
It is just throwing up the ackis window (not the tsm one) I note that tsm is not on the integrated addons list - so it might be I'm left with closing this window manually, but its ackis "bugging" out with random popups atm - it seems like it might be autoscanning still.
Cheers
Y
If you're also running AckisRecipeList_QuickScan, you need to update to the latest version to get rid of this behavior. If not, let me know so I can try to see if it's something on my end - I'm not seeing this behavior, though.
I remember having the option to auto-scan or not when opening a profession window, but now it always auto-scans and I can't find an option to disable it. Is it hidden somewhere or removed? If removed, could we have it back?
It also scans and brings up the ARL window every time you craft something.
That was actually never an option. The problem was with the 7.0.3.2 version of AckisRecipeList_QuickScan - it had the side-effect that ARL would automatically scan, even if you didn't invoke it using that AddOn. That's fixed in the 7.0.3.3 version of ARL QuickScan.
Expanding right pane and clicking gear icon reveals blank page. Formerly contained options for resizing and moving tooltips, which for me is essential.
Can you please return this functionality?
That isn't what it was at all; the cog used to have options for showing what your alts knew. Blizzard broke this in MoP, so the view was removed. I just didn't remove the cog. You need to go to the built in WoW client options panel to do what you need.
Please correct the alchemy list you have 4 listed in Draenor but they are in shadowmoon vally in Outland
Also a bug whrn trying to add location to mini map sometimes it works sometimes it dont.
Using latest ARL and Tailoring, I'm getting a totally black world map, and you cannot interact / zoom in or out with the world map in any way.
I began unloading addons that were tied to my map, and found the issue is being caused by TomTom .... not good, as TomTom is a popular addon.
To make sure, I unloaded Tailoring for ARL, just running the core ARL, with Tom Tom loaded, black map. With no TomTom, map works fine.
EDIT: Love this addon by the way... hope we can figure out whats up so I dont have to load/unload ARL all the time .....
Did you report this to the author of TomTom? I'm not sure what you're asking me to do here.
There is a conflict between ARL and TomTom ......I don't code much, so, I guess I'm asking you to look into it perhaps?
