Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

Thanks for that: apparently there was a synchronization issue from WoWAce. I've alerted the proper folks who can fix it, so it should be corrected soon.
I finally figured out why the new Draenor recipes aren't showing. They're listed with a skill level of 1 and are at the bottom of the list. Intended?
hey,
i just installed this addon along with the inscription module
for some reason the inscription module doesn't auto load even though it's selected (it's showing load on demand) and I have to do it manually, anyone know why?
I've used this addon forever...but with the new expac whenever I try to scan it says Ackis recepie list is either disabled or not installed. It is neither...and I'm running version 3.0.8, so I'm not sure what to do. :-(
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but still have the same issue.
About five months ago, the profession code was split off into separate AddOns. That error message is telling you, if you read it in its entirety, that you are missing the plugin AddOn for that specific profession.
To get a specific plugin, see the links in the description above.
When read in it's entirety it says nothing about plug ins it literally says nothing past "the addon is not installed or is disabled". But thank you for the information, I'll download those asap.
I love the addon, for a collector like me it makes getting every last recipie that much easier. However I have found that in at least Inscritption there are a number of missing glyphs. I would love a feature to scan what i have and see if there are any that ackis doesn't know and be able to submit something to improve the addon. Keep up the great work.
I love this addon, it's immensely helpfull in locating unknown recipes and for planning my rep grinds on all my characters.
There is one small issue though, there is missing recipes. I'm unsure yet how many but I know of at least 2 enchant recipes missing from the scan listings. The rep recipes for August Celestials only list one recipe, but there are 3. Which leads me to believe there may also be other recipes from other proffs missing as well. I haven't yet researched what is/isn't missing yet, and as I don't have WoD yet I can't comment on those recipes.
Outside of that, I absolutely love this addon.
Hey!
First, thank you for this great Addon, I can´t imagine to play WoW without it.
And thats the reason why I´m here now, because its not working for some reason.
I use it for Inscription (with the main char), and when i use the "scan" Button, there just NOTHING happens.
I cant scan, theres no error message - just nothing.
Im pretty sure I got the latest Versions of the core and the single addons. Any suggestions why its not working?
Cause it seems to work fine for most of the people around ;)
Thanks
Myself and some others have the same issue. Someone opened a ticket on wowace for this issue and it has yet to be resolved. Probably because it is so few of us with this problem.
Indeed. In order to fix it I need to be able to replicate it. :/
So, I still got that strange issue.
I tried to figure it out, but I´m not able to. What I did is deactivate every other addon, and just kept ARL and ARL-Inscription active - same shit, different day. No Error, nothing.
Maybe its an issue with the game itself? I dont want to reinstall WoW totally, but I don´t want to be without ARL as well.
I dont know what to do...
PS: I just realized, that its not only with Inscription, its the same with every other profession :(
The only thing I can think to do is delete your ARL SavedVariable. Perhaps it's being shown offscreen somehow.
So, finally I solved it.
I still don´t know why it caused trouble, but know it works.
What I did: Removed WoW completely, with throwing away all saved variables and all addons, everything (that hurts man).
Then reinstall the game and every addon one by one. And look: everything is fine in the end!
Now you see how much I care about ARL running properly :)
Ouch. If it happens again, just start with the AckisRecipeList.lua file in the SavedVariables folder. :D
I did!
But it did not work, so that was the last thing I could do :)
I have been looking for a reliable recipe finder add-on that will also show the locations on the map-minimap. I thought I found it in Ackis, but it is very buggy it seems. I am using an Alliance character with smelting and blacksmithing. My wife is using an Alliance character with skinning and leatherworking. When we filter the scan results it gives us all the Horde recipes even when we have the Horde not selected. Is there a way to have Ackis show only the faction that we belong to? It also seems as though the filtering does not filter properly in many other respects as well. This add-on was highly recommended on many sites and it seems odd that there would be so many problems with it, is it just user error or needing an update to the new WOW version? Thank you for your time.
This is an excellent addon, and its helped me immensely in regards to obtaining recipes, especially with my Jewel Crafter.
I have found just one problem with this addon, and I'm wondering if others are having similar issues, though its only minor.
When ever I have quests that reqire the use of the side buttons shown next to the quest itself, I get this warning message:
"Ackisrecipelist has been blocked from an action only available to the Blizzard UI.
You can disable this addon and reload the UI"
Though its ok if you use the item from your bag, you don't get any error doing it that way.
Any help with the above would be most appreciated.
Thanx in advance
It's been some years since I've played WoW and I was thinking about getting back in to it so I'm messing around on one of those free til 40 accounts. That said, I'm trying to update all my addons, one of which was / is ARL. However... I recall a number of years back when I used ARL that I could do I think /arl to bring it up but now that doesn't seem to do anything so just how do I bring up ARL ?
Ty.
Is this addon going to be updated ..... It shows up as out of date all the time with the new expantion. It is now close to the end of November.
Please keep it going as it is a abrilliant addon
