Profession AddOns
Due to the increasing data size and memory usage with each WoW expansion, the professions have been split into their own AddOns; you need only download the ones you'll be using. Each installed and enabled profession AddOn will load whenever it's first accessed by the ARL core.
The individual profession AddOns can be found here:
- Alchemy
- Blacksmithing
- Cooking
- Enchanting
- Engineering
- Inscription
- Jewelcrafting
- Leatherworking
- Mining
- Tailoring
Note that Ackis Recipe List will not work without the AddOn for the profession you are trying to scan. If you attempt to scan a profession that is not installed, you will be informed.
Where to get it
- WoW Ace - Alpha Quality
- Curse - Stable release
- WoWInterface - Stable release - Quite out of date

Known Issues
- When gaining a reputation level recipes for that faction will still appear in red when doing a scan.
- Recipe acquire information is slightly inaccurate. We are updating recipes daily as information is identified. If you find something inaccurate or wrong, submit a ticket here and we will get it updated.
Feature Requests/Bug Reporting
Read the Bug Reporting and Feature Requesting information before submitted a bug report or feature request. Posting reports in the comments is not the place to do so. Ackis had to turn off the comments at Curse.com because of constant bug reports and feature requests. Comments are for questions on how to use the mod, or you can see the thread on WoW Ace. Please follow these small little instructions to make our lives easier. The easier you make development for Ackis Recipe List, the more time we will have to develop other addons.
Bug Reports
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to file bug reports. Posting bugs in the comments is not the place to do it.
Feature Request
Please use the WoW Ace tracker to add suggestions and feature requests. Not all suggestions will be accepted: there are many people who use this addon, each with separate views. We will, however, try to make it as user friendly as possible...but when a decision is made please accept it.
Integration
Ackis Recipe List strives to integrate with existing trade skill mods out there. If you have a request for integration, please submit a feature request at WoW Ace. We make no promises to implement the feature at all. There is a limited API documented to interface with the ARL database. If you are a developer and would like more functions, please contact us on IRC. Currently, the mod works with:

I will get that last origami recipe one day, but I have no reason to visit Vash and it isn't on my priority list. While the sun is out I intend to enjoy that instead. Happy researching :)
Okay, ticket has been created.
Well I had submitted a ticket but it was removed. "Declined - We decided not to take action on this ticket."
I'm a bit confused, my addon says I only have 1 origami recipe left to get to have all the recipes for Inscription. Yet, when I do research more glyph recipes appear. I've not tampered with any of the settings, am i doing something wrong or does this addon need updating?
It needs serious updating since the most recent patch. For me it shows leatherworking patterns I've already learned and levelled past, plus I have world drop/events and pvp, raid both unchecked in filters yet it still shows those recipes/patterns. Even with that being said, it's still the best prof addon around.
Localizations are pretty much left up to the fans of the addon. I don't speak anything other than english fluently.

When will they finish the translation of the addon in Portuguese??
I like it a lot and it's making me really miss... =/
I'm running both Archy and ARL.
Are your lua errors enabled?
For some reason, it doesn't work if you have the Archy addon. It doesn't crash, but if you click "scan" nothing happens. If Archy isn't active, ARL works normaly.
It might be something else causing the problem as I keep Archy active and my ARL still scans.
JC: All the recipes using King's Amber, Dreadstone and other gems of that level, are shown as blue quality in the recipe list. But all of those are epic quality, so I assume the text should be purple?
Just been working on my Druid's Leatherworking & found an odd 'glitch'.
When filtering to find remaining recipe sources, I noticed a dropped 'tie-in' between Mob. Drop inside & outside of Instances.
Filtered for Classic only Recipes, with World Drop & Mob. Drop off, Leatherworking returns the following 5 recipes (that my Druid hasn't learned - may be others) under Mob.Drop in Aquisition Tab:
Black Dragonscale Leggings
Black Dragonscale Shoulders
Red Dragonscale Breastplate
Volcanic Shoulders
Volcanic Breastplate
Granted these DO drop off Mob's, they drop off Instance Mobs. That said, would the Instance filter be a better 'label' for these recipes to be reported under, rather than Mob. Drop?
While typing this, I 'played' with the filtering & unchecking 'Instance' removed them from the 'report'.
To further compound confusion, 2 (Green Dragonscale) recipes that drop in Temple of Atal'Hakkar are referred to as WORLD drops, yet are removed from reporting with the Instance tag unchecked...??
I'm not sure if this is the same for other professions, but could the whole database do with a tagging refresh, maybe...? I hasten to add - I'm not a coder & am very appreciative of the work that goes into add-on creation/maintainence.
Regards...
I've noticed quite a few things that are probably due for a re-tag that drop from mobs but noone I know can get them lately. I was just too lazy to fill out a ticket on the WOWAce site like it says above. A new tagging plus a new sort order would be great--say sort by proffession level. Here's the ones I know of and where ARL says to get them:
Volcanic Leggings (Firegut Brute) [Dreadmaul Rock]
Ironfeather Breastplate (Vilebranch Hideskinners) ARL got this right, give or take a decimal point.
Frostsaber Gloves (Winterfall Totemic) [east of Timbermaw Hold]
Frostaber Leggings (Den Watcher) [east of Timbermaw Hold]
Frostsaber Tunic (Ursa) [NE of Everlook]
For most of these, ARL gives coords that are way off from what WoWhead suggests so I put where the mobs actually are in []'s
If you find wrong data like that, please, please report it here:
http://www.wowace.com/addons/arl/tickets/
Honestly I've noticed this myself, and when I do find something like that I try to streamline the process.
For anything you do find, if you could report it here:
http://www.wowace.com/addons/arl/tickets/
That will make things a lot easier on us.
just used the scan utility on my inscriptor to see that the Staff and BoP shoulder enchants show up as not learned when i have them i click to open the lists of the staffs and enchants and they disappear from the unknown list moment i close the tabs they come back on the unlearned list
I created an issue ticket for ARL to look into a few issues 3 users have brought up here in the Comments section. I'll have time to take a look at them tonight/this weekend.
Sorry about delay in acknowledging possible issues - usually I check the tickets page, and forgot about the actual Curse comments.

great addon guys and so helpful for filling tose after burning thorugh trainer gaps...
one little bugbear... in the scan windows none of my mouse click commands work?
can't link / output, cant link created item, can't ignore recipes etc etc etc?
using ATSW, LSW and recipe known, Bugsack showing no conflicts betweens stuff and no errors in any mod.
any idea if i'm just missing something in config or if it's something a bit weirder? can prob live without LSW and at a push recipe known, however due to things like Incription and other multipart profs... not willing to dump ATSW since it's queue function is too handy
while i understand that most addon writers are unpaid and waiting is normal...
does anyone now if this project is still maintained and we're likely to get answers soon?
dumped recipe known and LSW... still getting the same problems
We just pushed a release 16 days ago. You posted about your problem two days ago. I'll look into reproducing your issue.
