FAQ
- General
Q:Is this addon complete ?
A:No this addon still in a beta like state, most things work and it should be usable for now, but dont except a fully functioning addon before rc1.0. This addon is here now for testing and developing it, so please download it and test it and if u find bugs post it here
Q:How can i submit a bug report
A:Much things are needed for a bug report. First if u discover a bug check the comments or the bug reporting tool on this site to see was it already reported by somebody. In the bug report please submit the following data:
- Description of the bug
- Client Locale
- How do u reproduce the bug?
- Are other addons loaded ? (see below)
- Is the bug without addons ?
- Which addon is loaded when the bug appeared (see below)
If the bug isnt there with default UI, but is there with all the addons loaded do the following to find out which addon is causing it:
1 Disable all addons
2 Check if the bug is there
3 Enable one of ur addons
4 Do 2,3 until u have all the addons loaded
- Features
Q:My 'Lock Tracker' function is grayed out and i cant move the tracker
A:CT_Core and other frame mover addons are hooking the QuestWatchFrame:SetPoint() function which makes beql unable to position the tracker where it like it to be. So if CT_Core is loaded the addons quest tracker mover functions are disabled, u cant enable them with theese addons loaded. To move the tracker u must use the other mover addon (CT_Core, MoveAnything etc.)
Q:bEQL's tracker is gone and the tracker options are grayed out.
A:If Fubar_QuestsFU the addon disables his tracker use QuestsFU's tracker.
Q:Adding new quests doesnt work
A:The 'Add new quests' function requires a perfect translation into your locale to work, without this it cant find the line 'Quest Accepted: '.. to pick up the quest name to add it to the tracker. Currently only enUS and enGB are 100% supported. The localization will be complete when the addon will be released (1.0).
Some locales for some languages are still missing, if u fell that is not good so u could write theese files yourself :). Use the localization.lua and localization-de.lua as templates. localization.lua will hold all the strings im using, and localization-de is now the best (not compelete) file written.
Keep in mind that there is no if GetLocale() == .. line in the default (localization.lua) file but in the others (see localization-de.lua) u MUST include them.

Is it possible to stop the quest log from opening EVERY TIME you turn in the first/last quest? It doesn't automatically open any other times.
It would seem Angelike has gone missing again. That is why I took over "managing" this project last time. If anyone wants to help maintain it just send me a PM.
I hope this AddOn is still being worked on. ^^
Any update for 4.0.1? :D
Using r328 from wowACE site and around the Questlog I am getting a grey transparent box.
Been using QuestGuru for a long time, originally used Extended Questlog before it was reworked and taken over.
Figured I would come back and see how this EQL has turned out now that it is bEQL.
Things I would suggest for bEQL:
1) Remove the gray alpha box around the QuestLog window.
2) Move the Quests/Daily counter to the right side of the questlog so they are under the close button (regardless of how large or small the quest log is, make it move and line up with the close button)
3) Ticks in quest log to show quest is being tracked looks way weird where they are. There should be tick boxes on the left and all line up under each other with ability to be ticked (similar to QuestGuru). Just looks better, easier and more intuitive.
Those are the three things that would probably bring me from QuestGuru back to bEQL.
There's also room on the quest log to add "tabs" similar to what QuestGuru has, to track the quests you have done [History Tab] and quests you have abandoned [Abandoned Tab]. These things are neat to have in a QuestLog, especially one that is 'Extended'. Not something that is needed right away but food for thought.
Will give bEQL a bit of a run for the week. It's hard to pull me from QuestGuru though.
Main thing bEQL has over QG is that the addon LightHeaded fits perfectly on to it where as with QG, the LightHeaded addon floats away from the log.
Also like the bEQL log look, with the icon at the top left corner and such (but that gray alpha box around the questlog has to go... eek.
Anyhoo Angelike, thanks for reading, I will give bEQL a go for couple of weeks. Hopefully some of the suggestions above can be looked in to and hopefully they are helpful in making bEQL even better (stealing QG users is incentive for adding these things right? lol) =D
I was so excited to see this addon updated, so I installed it today in hopes of getting rid of QuestGuru finally. Unfortunately, I was soon disappointed when I could not adjust the size of the text in the quest tracker. I moved the slider all the way to font size 18 and nothing happened. The default font size is way too small for me to read with a slight visual impairment, so sadly, I had to go back to using QuestGuru.

This is a very annoying as it wipes out the chat box.
I downloaded version 328r and was glad to see all of the required quest items were showing in the Tracker. Then I started noticing that I keep getting BEQL steps in my general chat box. I disabled line 61 in beql.lua: DEFAULT_CHAT_FRAME:AddMessage("bEQL: " .. tostring(text)). Disabling this line help remove all of the beql chat spam, but it also turned off the tracker. I opened a ticket for BEQL Chat spam. I think there is a line that is used for testing that should be disabled when testing is complete. I tried the work around posted below, but it only disabled BEQL. At the moment I have system messages turned off.
... and sorry for ma awful english :-p
