Bloodhound2
IMPORTANT NOTE: The latest updates (2.0.3 and 2.0.4) changed some of the settings. Not everyone will encounter errors, however if you do, please exit the game and delete the "bloodhound2.lua" and "bloodhound2.lua.bak" files from the SavedVariables folder and reinstall the addon. If you still encounter the error after doing this please file a ticket on the wowace site. Additionally versions prior to 2.1.0 (r17) will not work properly in Pandaria after the release of patch 5.4 because of additions of new zones.
This is a continuation of Osmium's original Bloodhound (his last version can be found: http://www.curse.com/addons/wow/bloodhound). I decided to take over the project (with his permission) because I hated how clunky the other gathering addons were and I wanted something that was lightweight but also found the best route for me. Bloodhound was perfect, but by the time I got around to using it, the Author stopped updating it. If you have any concerns/bugs/feature requests for this addon, please file a ticket on the WowAce portal.
Bloodhound/Bloodhound2 Description: If you have Find Herbs or Find Ore switched on, this add-on displays a red arrow on the minimap. Follow it and it will lead you to herb/ore nodes. Potential node locations show as red gems on the minimap. They're transparent so that you can see actual nodes.
The arrow points in the direction of "net pull" exerted by the nodes. The longer you go without visiting a node, the stronger it pulls. Once you visit it, the pull drops back to zero and the arrow points somewhere else. This will eventually lead you everywhere, but it's a dynamically updating system, responding to where you go automatically. Closer nodes pull more strongly, so it favors nearby clusters of nodes. If you choose to ignore the arrow and go somewhere else, the arrow will adjust to your new location which means you're not on a fixed track.
This mechanism is more efficient than a fixed route that visits all nodes in order, and also allows easy cross-zone farming.
The add-on is configurable in the Interface menu under Add-ons / Bloodhound2. It allows you to select whether the cross-zone feature is enabled Never, While Flying, or Always. It lists the zones in the current continent and lets you select which zones to include for the cross-zone feature. If that's disabled, it ignores nodes outside the current zone. It also lists the herbs and ore available on the current continent and lets you select the one's you're interested it. Unchecked node types don't exert any pull or show any indicator on the mini-map.
Check your ticket again mute91. I updated it after you replied with further details. It is a localization issue - Something that I want to get fixed however I need your help doing this.
Quick question: does this mod use data from other sources, like Gatherer or the WoWHead DB, or does it have its own database made up only from what you've actually visited? I've got a pretty large DB in Gatherer already, would hate to be reduced to a smaller set of data.
This uses the data from wowhead. If you have specific nodes that are in your gatherer db that you've personally visited they may or may not be in my database, but thats not really how the addon works. This addon basically pushes you to the next node that you havent visited in a while, so if one or 2 are missing, you likely won't notice. However if you find that there are numerous nodes out there that haven't been included, I would welcome you to install the Wowhead Client as that is where I and many other gathering addon authors get our node information from, so sharing your data with Wowhead is the best way to ensure that whatever addon you decide to use is up to date with the nodes you find.
Make 4.3.4 version plss
liza214 delete bloodhound2, delete its saved variables, and re-install it from scratch. Should fix it... worked for me.
That did fix it! Thank you.
Thank you very much for that Oxhart, I had a hard time narrowing down what was causing this error.
Since the 6/24 update, I get nothing but an error on login and no red nodes or arrow. The error was something to the effect of "table expected. nil."
Help! I loved this addon when it worked, :)
@liza214, Without an actual error I have no idea how to fix this bug because I have no way of knowing what is causing it. Please download a bug grabber addon and copy and paste the error into a new ticket on the wowace site: http://www.wowace.com/addons/bloodhound2/create-ticket/
Looks great.
My gatherer isn't high enough but, as and when I level it, I will certainly use this.
Into my bookmarks, for then and - in the meantime - recommendations.
Try using FarmHud with Bloodhound2. I think you will like it. You have to modify the "interface\addons\farmhud\farmhud.lua" file as follows:
above 135 (if Routes and Routes.ReparentMinimap and (FarmHudDB.show_routes == true) then), add the following 3 lines:
if Bloodhound2 then
Bloodhound2.ReparentMinimap(FarmHudMapCluster)
end
i installed it, it appeared on ad-don list, but there is no circles or arrow on minimap. what's my problem?
"If you have Find Herbs or Find Ore switched on, this add-on displays a red arrow on the minimap." where can i switch it on?
thank you for ad-don!
In your tracking menu on your minimap if you have the Herbalism or Mining professions, you should have an option to "Find Minerals" or "Find Herbs". Rubies do not show up for characters that do not have a gathering profession or those that do have a gathering profession but do not have the profession tracking enabled via the minimap. As of the current beta they will also not show up in Shrine of the Seven Stars or Shrine of Two Moons, so make sure you are not in/around either of those zones.
Thank you very much!
I keep getting this lua error whenever i am in Shrine of Two Moons in Pandaria

Darkmagikwzrd, please file a bug report on the WoWAce portal instead of posting the error in a comment. I get notified when people post bugs there, and I won't see it here.
Thank you so much for keeping this addon going.. All our guild members use it and Love the way it works. I think its one of the very best addons.
Do we have to keep the first one... for this one to work .....or can we remove it
Thanks again.
@WowDunked, This addon is a standalone addon so you no longer need to have the original addon installed for this one to work.
