Breakables
Description
Displays a bar on screen that allows quick access to enchanting, jewelcrafting, and inscription professions by presenting a Disenchant/Prospect/Mill button and all of the breakable items you have for that profession next to it. Also displays a bar for any locked junkboxes in your inventory if you're a Rogue. This allows one-click access for breaking down items instead of finding the item in your bag, clicking the appropriate profession/skill button, and clicking the item for each and every item you want to break. For prospecting and milling, you will see the number of items you have alongside the number of times you can break it. In the prospecting screenshot next to the addon name on this page, the player has 169 total Saronite Ore in his bags which will allow for 33 total prospects.
Note
In 10.0, Blizzard completely changed how Prospecting and Milling works, so this addon can only help with Lockpicking and Disenchanting. If a method is added for addons to once again programmatically Prospect or Mill, Breakables will be updated to support it.
Usage
By default, if you have the appropriate profession and items in your inventory, a bar will appear with the profession ability followed by any items that are eligible for breaking. You can hold shift to drag the bar around if you want to move it. Clicking the profession button will activate that ability (disenchant/prospect/mill) and clicking an item will break it. You don't have to click the profession button first as simply clicking the item will automatically break it down. Right-clicking a breakable button will add that item to the ignore list so it won't show up again. The ignore list can be managed from the configuration panel.
Configuration
Typing /brk will open the configuration settings (or you can get to it from Blizzard's Interface options) which consist of:
- Hide if no breakables: this will control whether you see the profession button or not when nothing breakable is detected
- Max number to display: this controls the highest number of items that you will see next to your profession button. If this is 5 but you have 10 breakable items in your bags, you will only see 5 at a time.
- Show soulbound items: aimed at enchanters, this controls whether or not you will see items that are soulbound as breakable items or not.
Known issues
- If you have more than 5 of a breakable item but split into stacks all smaller than 5, the game will say you do not have enough items to break. The default UI now has a built-in button to compress stacks that should solve this issue.
- If you know Mass Milling for a specific type of herb, the current alpha will try to use this ability and fail. I am in the process of leveling a scribe up high enough to debug this problem.
Thanks for the report. It probably is the mass milling issue. Will try to get it fixed soon.
Could we have a more robust way to ignore certain items besides having them in an Equipment manager list? Like shift click to add them to an ignore list or something. Partly because you might have to many items to fit into one equipment manager list, but also because some items cannot be equipped but we want to keep them around (i.e. WoD leather herbalist gloves on a cloth class)
Yep, will see what I can do.
Newest build of Breakables is showing my Legion Artifact Weapons on the disenchanting bar
And you don't want to disenchant that for some reason? :P
Thanks, will look into it.
Thanks, love the addon otherwise! I'm sure you'll find some code to hide those! (they can't be DE'ed anyway...just eats up two of my slots
Latest alpha build (and next release) excludes these.
On my level 110 Rogue that has Leatherworking and Enchanting - with settings window displayed as you can see I have multiple green BoE's that are not showing up under the DE bar. I've turned off ALL addons except for Breakables and still have the issue.
edit: This is with the most current version of 1.4.2 as well as the last 1.4.1 release version.
What level is your enchanting at?
Not certain why it matters as you can Disenchant legion Items at skill level 1. But for reference it is 721, but it doesn't work on my DK that has skill level 37 either.
In both situations I am able to manually click the Disenchant Button that is created by Breakables and then click the item in my bag to disenchant it, its just not adding anything to the bar.
It matters because the mod has a check that determines whether to show an item or not based on skill level. The addon is not showing it, so I'm trying to figure out why; we're not diagnosing the game client itself. That check wasn't accounting for the Legion skill level 1 thing. But if it doesn't work on your 721 skill character, then something else is wrong. I'm not sure what yet.
Had a friend of mine with 800 enchanting download the Addon he said its working for him except it doesn't display relics as dis-enchantable. He also said that its not displaying all of the dis-enchantable items sometimes without doing a /reloadui
I'll look into the problem as soon as I'm able.
A random assortment of 110 greens and blues (trinkets, armor, weapons) are all showing up in Breakables by my level 85, 505 Enchanting Priest. No Relic support yet. Maybe try the latest Alpha version? https://www.wowace.com/media/files/947/905/Breakables-1.4.2-5-g5ff9be7.zip
It's not working for me on my DH. When I force the bar to show, it shows no DE-able items, though I have several in my bags.
Are they soulbound? If so, did you check the flag to allow it to show soulbound items?
Shows neither bound nor unbound objects. Checking "show soulbound" doesn't have any effect.
Hey!
Loving the addon so far and it works great for herbs.
On my jewelcrafter though, it only shows the Prospect skill as an icon and not the Felslate or Leystone ore.
I don't know if it's just for me but i can't get it to work whatever i try.
Hope you can fix this!
Okay, thanks. It sounds like the new ore types don't conform to the old items. I'll try to look into it.
edit: if you're willing to test out something I haven't even run the game to test, you can grab the latest alpha (either through the Curse client or the following link) and see if the ore shows up: https://www.wowace.com/media/files/945/501/Breakables-1.4.1-1-g80bf120.zip
