Cartographer 3.0

Table of Contents

This is a map addon for World of Warcraft that replaces the map and offers shiny features.

The idea is for it to work very much like Google Maps, only in-game.

Cartographer 3.0 is brand new, "experimental" version of Cartographer.

On the old Cart 2.0 when you are in a battleground it was very nice to hit the map key and see what towers where controlled and such instanly. Now with 3.0 I have to wait a sec or so for the map to zoom out and show the battleground. Anyway to turn off the zoom and instantly show the map.

The Old version was amazing. It helped alot, however this modified version completely sucks. The map is to small there is just to much going on even with options minimized. :(

The map can be as big/small as you want: just drag the sides or corners, and the whole window can be moved anywhere on the screen.

I'm not sure about too much going on? Cartographer itself is a nice clean map. Do you use other addons that add extra? I use QuestHelper and Gatherer, but tweak their settings for asthetics.

I think this is a great addon. I hope we can make it work for you.

Whenever I try and download just an addon in general, it says, "The path for the addon directory is not correct. Stopping download." Anye help?

I have with it 132 error! WTF? When i off this addon - all fine! But when i turn it on, supid 132 error in connection progressing. T.T HELP ME!!! I wish'nt use Cartographer - it's sux!!! Cartographer 3.0 FOREVER!!!

I love the mod, but its causing major system slow dow. When I have cart 3 running and no other mods I go down to 1-2 fps for about 30secs after loggining in. Also how do you turn on fog of war?

I have exactly the same problem as Molajoku. I loved the old Cartographer mod, but this version really has some performance issues. I have a Q6600, 4GB, ATI 4850. Performance shouldn't really be an issue on that pc...

Does anyone have a flight points/innkeeper notes mod or know of one that i can use with cartographer? I had a ton of notes a long time ago before a computer wipe and those came in handy for building up new toons.

The new functionality to cartographer3 is awesome! I love the zoom and the map scaling!
I had to disable it to do my exploration achievements. Can you add an option to turn the map fog on and off? (If its there I don't see it)
I've found its use in battle grounds VERY cumbersome. The icons for AV make it difficult to discern the status of the towers.
Also, does anyone know where I can get a mod like cartographer_data again? Having the locations of all the farmable items was very handy.
Thanks much for an awesome mod with truly stellar improvements!

If you are having trouble with the map being to large to fit on your screen then deleting the Saved Variables for Cart3 should help.

The saved variables for Cartographer3 are at
\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<Account Name>\SavedVariables
Where <Account Name> is the name of your WoW Account.

Delete the following from that directory:
Cartographer3.lua
Cartographer3.lua.bak

You have to do this because addon settings are stored in the WTF folder not the Addon folders.
Deleting the Addon folder and 'reinstalling' the mod does nothing to the settings.

i followed those steps and now the addon does'nt work at all it just shows the normal map when i hit M. the addon is installed but does'nt work

Thanks, This worked well for me. When I zoomed into the map I got a blue screen not the artwork map. I thought I was going to have to give up this addon. Now it's working again.

nice mod aside from the fact that all the quest mods from the previous cartographer dont work. the zoom 'n drag right down to terrain textures is too nice to go back to the old style. u dont zoom by clicking u zoom with mouse wheel

my map turned so big that i cant see the edge of it any more ( allso the coor.) and i cant get it smaller agian by draging it by the edge of it... allso tryed to uninstall and reinstall of the cartographer, and tryed to raise my resolution but no luck. plz help
