Did we give too much and the authors are rich?
Or are they thinking we are a bunch of freeloaders?

It is pretty funny when you look and see that Cartographer has been the second most downloaded Addon... As previously noted in these remarks Mapster, Tom Tom and Handy Notes is a great replacement for cartographer...

I just created a Cartographer Replacement Pack that replaces most of the functionality of cartographer. It uses Arrowmaster recommendations: Mapster, GatherMate, TomTom, Cromulent, and HandyNotes.

I find it so sad that the people who made this wonderful program "have the time nor desire" to keep it up with the game itself. I have found no other add-on that gives an instance map, and I've looked. Thanks to some of the suggestions I've found here, though, I've at least got my instance maps back.

I really hope the developers of Cartographer change their collective mind and move to update this program.

This addon still works quite well. Before you log on to your character, click on the addons button, then the "Load out of date AddOns" checkbox needs to be checked. Then check all the boxes of cartographer that you want to use EXCEPT(that means uncheck this box): Cartographer 3.0 V0.11.2
You don't need an update people, just shot off the one that causes the error(the one I listed above)

Forgive the nubness of the question but why is it so hard for an update for this. I still use it, made some of the modifcatiions that were talked about earlyer in the comment and have 100% useablity of cartographer other then 2 bugs One with changeing the map size. The other with combate in that when in combate you cant close the window. other then that its fine.

I have to go with what all the other members are saying....this add-on is far more then the others could ever be. And I have tried them all. I to have disabled the "Look & Feel" and it is working...sorta-of..with that error window poping up sometimes. If the great one(ckknight) that made this in the first place isn't going to work on it anymore..or ever those that helped him from time to time (Arrowmaster, Moncai an AbydosLanti)...one would think.. you as in ckknight, could find somebody to take your place....since over a MILLION players have this add-on. Somebody out there needs to take up the reins of this most needed add-on.

Surely some hot-shot coder is thinking hard about assuming responsibility for the finest addon ever to grace the screens of World of Warcraft. Blizz means well but they will never approach the sheer usefulness of this incredible addon.

Like many, I've disabled the look and feel part of the addon and we're limping along. I could almost ... almost ... get along without Cartographer if another addon would show instances and zone levels while hovering over the map, but I find I use that feature almost daily either for myself or for someone making an inquiry.

So if you're considering jumping in on Cartographer, keep in mind the eternal gratitude you will receive from legions of ecstatic fans. Love is a wonderful thing.
