This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

CARTOGRAPHER HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3.3!!!

DO NOT CREATE BUG REPORTS SAYING IT IS BROKEN!

There are no plans to do any major bug fixes for Cartographer (v2 or v3). If there is an update it will only be a minor fix. (It has already been this way since at least 2008.) Cartographer(v2) uses an outdated framework that will not be updated in the case of major breakages so Cartographer(v2) would require a complete rewrite. Neither of the two main developers (Ckknight and Arrowmaster) have the time nor desire to do this currently. Occasionally a new version might be released to include fixes made by other developers or new versions of embedded libraries.

Cartographer is a modular, lightweight, and efficient framework for manipulation of the world map. It is based on Rock and other libraries of the WoWAce community.

Battlegrounds : allows viewing of battlegrounds outside of the zone.
Coordinates : adds coordinates to the bottom of the world map of the player and the cursor.
Foglight : Shows unexplored areas on the map. replacement for MozzFullWorldMap or Unexplorer. Much more efficient, though.
Group Colors : turns all your party's and your raid's POIs into circles colored based on class, and shows a number on them based on their raid group.
Instance Maps : shows maps of instances.
Instance Notes : adds boss notes and such to instance maps.
Look 'n' Feel : allows you to change the transparency, position, and scale of the world map.
Notes : lets you put notes on the map, similar to MapNotes.
Zone Info : on hovering over a zone, it will show the levels of the zone, the instances in the zone, their levels, and the group size the instance is made for (e.g. 5-man, 40-man).

is there anything that can replace the mining and herbalism functions which shows all the locations of ore and herb by showing the exact icons in each zone whether you found it or not? it still currently works in outlands, eastern kingdoms and kalimdor but does not work in northrend since it hasnt been updated. if anyone knows of anything, please let me know!

I was using only the function to know which level have to go in the country, and the level of fishing of each land... So if mapster is very good it doesn't help on this...

Unfortunately ckknight is no longer the full author of this mod, and as the mod post states there will be no major updates to it. I love Cartographer but since the last patch it hasn't worked properly. If anyone out there has a map mod or group of mods that give most of the functionality of Cartographer please post it. For now I will have to research the various map mods available and see what works by trial and error. If I find anything good I will post what works for me.

May I re-suggest my Cartographer Replacement Pack?
It contains working addons that mimic most of the functionality of Cartographer. Namely, Mapster, HandyNotes, TomTom, Cromulent, and GatherMate.

Its gone, dead and should be buried. IF the author isnt going to post the spource code (this may be open source?), then they shoudl remove it from Curse.

It has come to note that ckknight may not be playing anymore. So the various versions of Cart may never be updated unless someone takes over the projects.

However, this addon still works for the current patch with a bit of effort.

First, deactivate the in game quest tracking on the map. Then /reload. If Cart is active it will now work correctly. Any time the map is resized or the quest tracker is activated/deactivated, you'll have to /reload to make the map appear correctly again.

Cart is incompatible with the in game quest tracking, but still works fine with QuestHelper. :)
