Chatter

Table of Contents

Chatter is a comprehensive, lightweight, mega-configurable chat enhancement addon. It supports a whole bunch of stuff, including:

- Hiding buttons
- Custom aliases for channel names
- Coloring of player names by class or deterministic HSV formula, and player levels next to names
- Custom font and font size for your chat frames
- Custom background, border, and positioning for the edit box
- Option to let the edit box border color match the color of the channel you are typing in
- Channel colors remembered by name, rather than by number
- Scrolling your chat frames with the mouse wheel.
- Sticky channels, configurable
- Ability to copy a chat frame's contents to your clipboard
- Ability to copy URLs to your clipboard
- Ability to customize the background and border of your chat frames
- Timestamps
- A /tt command to send a tell to your target
- A module that turns the word "invite" into clickable links that let you invite the speaker.
- Highlights both for custom keywords in specific channels
- Chat fading toggles
- Text justification
- Autologging (Off by default)
- Alt linking
- Much larger and smaller chat frames than default
- A Groupsay (/gr) command to talk to your group, whether that's battleground, raid, or party.
- Chat Tab look-n-feel modifications
- Paging through chat tabs with the scroll wheel

Ok, all the bells and whistles seem to work, except the sound. I cannot get any sound, when I get a message, from any source. Why is that? and how do I fix? I am running Vista, still.

Whenever I right click on a Battlenet friend and move it into a new whisper window, it appears in both the new whisper window AND the general window. How can I make it appear in just the new whisper window like the default blizzard chat frame?

we have have a new member with a toon name starting with "Inv" and it seams lile the ClickInvite module doesnt like it :)

Sometimes chatter doesn't let me scroll up in my chatbox. It is beginning to become really annoying, as every time I'm forced to reload UI to fix it temporarily.

I'm finding that the feature that colors names according to class is forgetting names. In fact, I've had it show the names of people on my friends list in gray instead of the appropriate color. Today, I whispered someone who had posted in Trade and after that, his name showed up in color, but then I switched to a different character and switched back and noticed that his name was gray on subsequent posts.

Hi, I found that I disable the option "Use Alt key for cursor movement", but it doesn't work for new whisper frame or RealID frame (If we set whisper or RealID showing in new chat frame.), I still need pressing Alt key for cursor movement.(But it works fine on default chat frame.)

Thank you for all of your hard work on this addon. I would still, however, like to figure out if there is a way to change one's language while using Chatter. Currently, that does not seem to be an option. Thanks!

I can't seem to disable the tab flashing in my tell window despite that I have specifically unchecked "enable tab flashing" and despite this I continue to have my tell tab flashing whenever I get a whisper.

Hello, ive just recently switched to this addon from Prat, and generally i like it more, however, its very annoying that unlike Prat it doesn't always get the player class color and level, sometimes it does get it, but more often not. Also, it would be great if it could get the player class color if the name of that player is written in chat.

Hmm, does anyone know if there is a way to increase the size of the font on the chat tabs?
(The tabs above the chat saying 'General', 'Combat Log', etc.)

Ok... maybe a problem. Just noticed it today. I have highlights set up for RealID conversations. I've getting the audio tell... but RealID messages are not appearing in my chat box... even the ones I send.... The chatbox is setup to show RealID messages, but they aren't showing....

I used to be able to put the "enter chat" line (on the bottom by default) on the top of the chatbox. I had to clean reinstall and I cannot find an option for that again. Sure it's just an overlook but what is it called and where?
