Combo Points Redux
Combo Points Redux is a numeric and graphical display for your combo points (and other similar mechanic abilities) based on the excellent numeric-only addon BasicComboPoints.
Slash Command
/cpr
or /cpredux
Features
- Numeric and graphical display of your combo points
- Numeric display and graphical display are independently movable
- Many icon choices for the graphical display
- Also tracks many other stacking secondary powers including
- Druids: Combo Points
- Mages: Arcane Charges
- Monks: Chi
- Paladins: Holy Power
- Rogues: Combo Points
- Warlocks: Soul Shards
Width, Height, and Scale
The new version for Legion has been updated to dynamically size the points based on your container size. This was done due to all the talents that change the number of points. Here's how this works.
- Set a Height and Width for the Point container
- Based on the maximum number of points available, the individual points will take up a proportional space
That's great... How do I get back to normal?
Here's an example of how to use the new options:
- You want 20x20 square icons and 5 pixels of spacing between them.
- Your class has six points.
- Set Height to 20 and Width to 150
- 150 = (20 * 6) + (5 * 6)
- You can then set a Scale to make this bigger or smaller too
In general:
- Set the Height to your desired Point height
- Calculate the Width
- Point Width * Max Points + Point Spacing * Max Points
Feedback
Important notice: since v3.2.6, ComboPointsRedux embeds BugGrabber, an error catching addon. Please check the error is really about ComboPointsRedux before reporting them here. I suggest installing BugSack to catch the errors.
Please report any bug or error using the WowAce bug tracker (your Curse account works there). The comments section below is not meant to report and track bugs.
Some words about submitting bug reports:
- I do not care about “it doesn’t work, fix it!” messages. I need to know how it failed and a way to reproduce the bug so I can test it and make sure I fix it.
- Bug reports are not in the “fire and forget” kind of things. I may have to ask you some details.
- Please check all existing tickets and the “known issues” section below before submitting new ones. Duplicate reports will be rejected on sight.
If you want another module for a spell please file them as tickets on WowAce. It makes my life easier!
Localization
Currently the addon will work in all locales, but the options screen is not translated on all clients. If you would like to help translate the options screen you can submit translations with the new localization tool at wowace.
yup, big problems for rogues with anticipation.
Well aware that there is a problem and will be fixing as soon as I can leave work.
thank you, it was driving me mad :D
@kaelendra
I should have time to at least make sure the combo points part is working. I have a feeling that with the ability pruning I'll end up disabling/deleting the other modules and waiting for people to ask for stuff back. I don't have time to test all the classes in depth, so it'll be easier if the users tell me what should still be tracked.
Hey just wondering if this is going to get updated for WoD?
Any chance of getting this working on beta? i can't play without it.
I'm not aware of anything specifically breaking it on WoD. Unless the game still isn't loading external textures, which I can't so much about.
You should be able to increase the TOC number from 50400 to 60000 and it should work in theory.
I second.
Just tried this add-on. It is brilliant.
It would be very nice to have a color option for text points. Not the one color for all points, i mean option for every single point separately, like in the graphic points module.
Hi, I've been having the "interface action failed because of an addon" error recently in combat. I logged addon taint and the only thing that came up was CP Redux. It's pretty much the same error repeating itself, so here's just a snippet:
11/12 02:02:28.874 An action was blocked in combat because of taint from ComboPointsRedux - CompactPartyFrameMember1:Show()
11/12 02:02:28.874 Interface\FrameXML\CompactUnitFrame.lua:285 CompactUnitFrame_UpdateVisible()
11/12 02:02:28.874 Interface\FrameXML\CompactUnitFrame.lua:243 CompactUnitFrame_UpdateAll()
11/12 02:02:28.874 Interface\FrameXML\CompactUnitFrame.lua:98
Is this an issue that can be rectified on my end? Thanks!
I know 5.4.1 added some odd taint issues. I don't believe any of my code is the actual cause. I will push a new version which should grab new Libraries, perhaps one of them is/was doing something bad.
I have seen similar errors, but they came from the Ace3 Library (I run with Libraries separate from addons). So hopefully a fresh release will resolve the issue, because CPR doesn't touch the Compact frames or hook methods that do.
I had to delete my cache and WTF folders because of disconnection problems yesterday, logged back in today and found i had to reset all my addons, however CP Redux is not letting me access the options. Ive updated it and its enabled and everything i just dont see what the problem is. when i click on it, in the interface menu, it just has a blank tab, then once ive clicked on it once itll disappear and wont come back til i relog.
This is a really great mod as a feral druid, but i hate all the other bars just sitting in the way on my screen, I have no way of removing the bars i dont use so they sit there like obnoxious grey boses all over my screen. Anyone help?
Do you have the ComboPointsRedux_Options folder in your Addons folder? Is the options addon showing up on the in game addon control screen (the one on the character screen)? Can you access the options by typing /cpr
I have no idea what would be causing the options to break like that since it works perfectly fine on my setup and on a few of my guildmates' setups.
yeah the folder is in with the rest of my addons, and its ticked in the character selection screen.
I tried using the direct command it and popped up and worked perfectly fine, am now able to change what bars appear using /cpr - had no idea of the shortcut before hand but thats useful, thank you for your help.
heres a link to a screenshot of my problem anyway incase you were wondering

Not looking anything like the pictures for me, can't figure how to make it work like I see it in the pic and vids for my rogue...
I'm having some trouble with soul shards. The option to hide them out of combat doesn't seem to be working properly. When I first log on the shards are displayed, even though I have the option checked to hide them out of combat. If I enter combat, the shards will then be hidden once I leave combat. But if the UI is reloaded, anytime I change zones for example, then the shards are displayed again until I enter and leave combat again.
I haven't noticed this problem with anything else I've tracked. Holy power, chi, combo points, focus fire, all of that works fine.
Should be fixed in 2.2.14, which will be out shortly.
Yep just updated and it seems to be working. Thanks!
Edit: Actually, I was wrong. It's kind of doing what it was before, but not exactly. Now, when I first log in, the shards are not displayed. But if I enter combat the shards are still not displayed. If I open the cpr options, uncheck hide out of combat and recheck it, then the shards are displayed and are still there when I enter combat and disappear when I leave combat. But if I enter combat again after that, the shards again are not displayed. If it helps here's the error message I get when I log in:
Message: ...rface\AddOns\ComboPointsRedux\Modules\SoulShards.lua line 76:

Hmm, looks like I had a copy/paste error. My apologies, 2.2.15 should actually work as intended.
Found this awesome combo tracker while doing WotLK's EoE final dragon battle in the air with Malygos, but have continued to use its trackers for shaman Tidal Waves and Fulmination--thanks a ton for making it more than just for stealthers!
(Love to use it with Hear Kitty for sounds, too)
