Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Due to 3.3's release and new group finder / random heroic features, I am discontinuing this addon and have no plans to continue development in the future. *

An addon which uses AceComm background communication to inform others with the addon of today's dailies.

To use, click the blue exclamation point icon that is on your minimap, or type "/dqv show" into the chat box. Note that until there is a strong community using the addon on your server, quests will still show up as "unknown".

Please add the Brunnhildar daily quest. Also, aren't there three Oracles & Frenzyheart, not two that should be shown for the dailies?

@Chingerayl: could you double check your AceComm routines? Normally the channel they use should be "invisible" to the UI. However, whenever I enable Daily Quest Viewer, a visible channel called AceComm appears, and 9 times out of 10 binds itself to channel 1 thus bumping General to 2, Trade to 3 and so on. Other than that, top work! Cheers.

Is it possible to update the files on WowInterface as well? I really like this addon, but I dislike Curse (ever since they decided to simply remove half the addons I use).

Great Addon !

2 Suggestions from me:

If I do not miss something the quests learbned by the addon are not stored in saved variables. Right ? My suggestion would to do so, becaause on our server only a few people run this addon and if I take the dailies early in the morning the data will be lost for the evening as I mostly be the only on with dqv in the morning anyway. Of course I know it is not as easy as just declaring saved variable as you will need to store the data it was taken to see it is still valid at login.

Another suggestion would be to have /dqv traffic report the number of people running the addon. Showing their name would be nice too :-)

If you store today's date when you store the info in a file, you can know if you need to clear the saved data when you log in again.
storing the info to a file will also help when I switch toons, only one toon has to find out what the daily's are, then switched toon will also know (and be able to supply data to others).

If you look below the title and to the left, you'll see something that says "u:6" (or another number). That number is how many unique people that have been seen using the addon since you've logged on.

As for the saving of data, that's a planned feature, once I can get the dailies to reset at the 4:00am deadline. As far as I've been able to find so far, LUA is garbage and doesn't have any date/time comparison functions, so it's easier said than done.

I installed this addon to keep track of croc in teh city quest but after a few weeks it became apparent no one on my sevrer uses this addon so I removed it. However I am still a member of the acecomm chat channel. If I try to manually remove myself from this channel it auto-rejoins every time. Any idea who I can stop this? Your mod is no longer installed on my computer so I dont know why this happens.

Did you really remove the addon? Also, try quitting through the game menu (ESC) or /quit after leaving the channel, and not with Alt+F4, most game settings won't be saved then.

I'm still having problems with this; this looks like it's in a UCS format, not UTF-8.

You might want to try editing this in Notepad++; from there there's an option to edit the code in UTF8 format. From there I'm not sure what else you may have to do, I've never been good with file encodings myself. :P

I think i don'T need svn access at this time.
you can just copy the files into the locaisation folder
and it will work out.

Ive never worked with SVN.

Gomntep: Can you convert the files into a strictly UTF-8 format? The SVN won't let me check in ANSI files, unfortunately.
