Getting Started
When you first login with this AddOn you will see a black transparent rectangle with a blue bar labeled 'Default', called the encounter pane, in the center of your screen. Shift+Click on it to move it. From left to right you will see:
- Stop Icon: Halts the current encounter (you should rarely have to do this)
- Menu Icon: Opens the configuration dialog
- Lock Icon: Toggles frame anchors
- Windows Icon: Opens a drop down menu to show interface windows
Also, if you ever hide the pane and can't get it to show, type /dxe to open the configuration dialog. There is also a minimap icon.

So here's my frustrated thoughts.
I work on multiple addons. Not just DXE. Every single one of them has someone asking for something that they think is critical right now. On top of that I do things other than just write the addons. I have work to go to, social events, and then finally I have to actually find time to play the game.
Anymore when I get up and open my email it's filled with a bunch of people demanding that I do this and that want X feature that they think should have been done already.
I'm growing tired of this. I'm starting to question why I do this.
When I do implement features that people pound my door for they rarely come back and say thanks (there are of course exceptions). After that there's a whole new set of things that someone wants.
I'm sure that DXE will get updated with the encounters. When myself or someone else who knows how to update them gets to them.
Continuing to post here about with pointless comments (especially 6 character comments, leaving out punctuation) doesn't help.
Ri.I.P DXE?
Actually quite a few guilds just write their own if there isn't one. I know because I end up having their ideas shared. The beauty of DXE is that you don't have to write the mod just the logic to know about what happens when. You will get encounters added. I can pretty much assure you that I'll add or Kollektiv will add the encounters as we do them or as we have data to write them.
5 mans I can't promise anything. It's not something we've done before. We've talked about doing it but neither of us had the time to burn doing it for Wrath, since it wasn't even discussed till towards the end of Wrath.
No it just means, if DXE didnt have Bosses on Cataclysm Launch, a Progress Raider cant use this mod, if another one have already the most Boss Data.
We'll see, not promising anything on the 5 mans. Depends on if someone has time to do them.
Why do people feel the need to say "If you don't support or do X then I'm going to use Y addon." Is this supposed to make me jump and do what you want?
Will DXE have encounter info for the 5 man dungeons in Cata? I'd love to stick with DXE, but if it doesn't I might have to go back to DBM or something for a while until everyone gets used to the new mechanics.
No we haven't done encounters yet. Doing the bosses off of beta is a waste of time. They end up changing enough that they don't work right anyway.
There's no real guide and for all practical purposes doing the encounters has nothing to do with Lua or Ace stuff for that matter.
If you want to help the best thing you can do is to provide transciptor logs for the fights that are not implemented yet.
You can find Transcriptor here: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/transcriptor.aspx
Yeah,
Cataclysm knocks on our Doors and the other bossmods already got full Bosses in the mod. Gogo i really love DXE
Have you guys begun code for encounters in Cata? Is there a developer guide anywhere on how DXE works? I've done basic addons before but not anything that's ACE or complicated...
I was wondering if there ever became anything of the suggestion to make something simmilar to DBM's "spell timers" for DXE (would be as a separate plugin proably) to allow setting up custom duration bars for spells to be displayed using DXE's bars. (IE NOT raid CD's, but durations of custom selected spells)
Ie for instance showing who casted GS/HoP/PI and simmilar and show a bar with duration and name of caster (or my favourite, show what mage casted the portal, where it goes, and how long before it vanishes. Also usefull for tables, HS's and simmilar)
Fully custom by inputting spellid, formated text (such as %t for target, %p for who casted it and such), and seconds for bar duration.
maybe get my ticket in this mod? ....
@wees, Not much to do right now. Until Cata comes out.
This addon is still developed? It dont update long time
Also, any plans to add Vanilla and Burning Crusade encounters?
I did a "reload ui" during Saurfang's pre-fight action. When the fight actually started, I got flooded by alert bars, with 100% CPU usage and practically locking the game.
Not sure if it's been reported before, I for one wouldn't like to test for it again ;)
