This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Update 02/12/11: Sorry for the delay in Bartender/Dominos support. I've been busy with other projects and haven't had time to play WoW or tinker with addons. I used to use Bartender pre-cata so I hope to get Bartender support working.

Dimmed Actions will turn your action buttons (semi) transparent if they meet any of the following conditions

Target is out of range for that action.
Not enough mana/energy/rage for that action.
Action cannot be cast on target (healing spells on hostile target)
Action is currently on cooldown.
Spell already exists on target.

Each of these conditions are optional and can be turned off.

Todo:

Add options to disable spell exists on specific actions.
Add support for Bartender & Dominos' bars.

I am having one problem with the addon. Some warrior attacks like overpower and execute always show as available even though they are not. Overpower is only available after a dodge and execute requires the target be under 20% health.

Do they dim when DA's not enabled? When using the default blizzard/BT4 bars.

The items dim correctly when DA is not enabled. Is there a way to bypass DA on these 2 items? I love the addon especially for managing cool-downs and dots but I need to overcome the problem with execute and overpower.

Strange, DA uses the same API that default bars use to dim.
You're sure 'Dim Unusable' is enabled and running v1.4.2beta?

I removed the addons and wtf directories and installed only DA and it is working correctly. Now to figure out where the conflict was. :) Thanks for the help.

Grr... K now i'm correctly running v1.4.2beta.

A> Righteous Fury, Seal of Light, Seal of Wisdom, Seal of Justice, and Seal of Righteousness are dimming correctly when targeting self but shows that Spell is not active when not targeting anything or targeting anything but self. (these are self buff only spells)
B> Mounts and Hammer of Wrath are working correctly as far as I can tell now that I have correctly updated to v1.4.2beta.
C> "Divine Protection", "Divine Shield", and "Hand of Protection" are working flawlessly with forbearance. "Lay on Hands" has a dimming issue on blizards end...no wonder i've been having issues with it. Can you add an exeption into this mod for Lay on Hands till Blizard fixes it where: if you have the forbearance debuff it will dim Lay on Hands if you are targeting yourself, Noone, or a Foe? (blizard incorrectly returns that you can use it but then cancels the spell mid cast).
D> When I have no target or targeting an ally: Judgement of Light, Judgement of Wisdom, Judgement of Justice, Hammer of Justice, Hand of Reckoning, Exorcism and Turn Evil are not dimming per invalid target.
E> Redemption is not dimming whenever I'm not targeting ally corpse.

F> "Sense Undead" Is it even possible to check what your current Tracker is? When I have no target, targeting an Ally, Self, or Foe it does not dim when my tracker it set to sense undead. (self tracker only)

now i know some people may not want all these changes but you could add a on/off switch in the options menu.

Cyprias,

I reverted back to January's 1.3 and the problem went away. So it looks like a bug crept into your color options -- I'm thinking the 'Block other colors' option. I'll describe the bug again so you can diagnose:

- In order for a pally to cast a Judgement spell, a 30-min Seal buff needs to be active
- Normally, if the Seal buff expires or is removed, the vanilla Blizzard UI will dim the Judgement icon communicating it's unusable without the Seal.
- With ver 1.4 DA enabled, the Judgement icon would never dim if the Seal buff was gone. This happens with 'Block other colors' checked.
- If you uncheck that box, you get erratic icon blinking like there is a tug-o-war between the Blizz UI trying to dim the icon and your mod trying to keep it undimmed.
- The Judgement icon appears to dim/function properly with reference to sufficient mana, range and cooldown. It's only the connection with the Seal status that's in question.

Hope this helps. I'll stay on 1.3 until fixed. Thanks for the great mod.

Thank you for the details. I don't have a pally so I never ran into this problem.
I'm thinking what's happening is v1.3.0 never dimmed a action due to a seal not being there, instead blizzard/bartender was doing it. Then in 1.4.0 when I added custom colours shades I had to block blizzard/bartender from doing their own shading which caused your judgment to not fade when a seal was missing.

I think I fixed the problem in v1.4.1beta. I'll need a pally to confirm it.

OK Cyp...regarding the pally possible bug just mentioned:

When you uncheck 'Block other colors' and you don't have a pally Seal active, the icon blinks erratically, like another addon is trying to color it but the normal dimmed status when unusable. I've turned on and off a bunch of addons but can't affect the blinking.

I'm using Bartender4 if that matters.

Possible bug: before the last version, the pally Judgement icon would dim when a Seal wasn't active. This made sense since judgements aren't usable without a Seal spell up. As of the last day or two, if you take off the Seal, the judgement won't dim, implying that it's usable when it is not.

That's strange. I haven't made any changes between v1.3.7beta and v1.4.0. Just the version number.
In the options screen, make sure 'Dim Unusable' is still checked.

Ok, I'll check when I get home. Another quirky thing was that dimmed icons due to out of mana took on a blue tint. I went back into the color options and reset. I thought I was going color blind at first! :)

The "spell exists" check isn't working for Icy Touch and Plague Strike. Best guess is that it's a naming issue, as the debuffs applied are "Frost Fever" and "Blood Plague" respectively.
