DirectionArrow
DirectionArrow
Display an arrow that points to a raid/party member anchored to raid frames.
Features:
- Shows an arrow that anchors to a unit frame and points to a party member, raid member, or target.
- Shows the distance to the unit.
- Configurable arrow: Size, opacity, relative anchor point, update frequency.
- Configurable distance text color, size, and drop shadow color.
- Key binding for sticky targeting. Arrow always points at the specified unit frame when sticky.
- Known to work with:
- The default UI
- PitBull4
- XPerl
- Grid
- Shadowed Unit Frames
TODO:
- Add more arrow graphics.
- Make it so tracking continues on the unit it was last on when the raid/party composition changes.
- Add support for vehicles.
- Add support for only tracking units that are out of range.
Caveats:
Due to how the API works, namely GetPlayerMapPosition(), the arrow will stop tracking if the tracked unit changes zones, changes dungeon levels, or is too far away in the same zone/dungeon. This function doesn't return anything for players in arenas.
Known bugs:
- This code is perfect, of course!
Reporting bugs:
- Please post bug reports here. While I monitor the comments on curse.com, it makes my life easier if bugs are reported in the wowace bug tracker.

Note: distance show maybe not work, due to BLZ hided exact yards to players.
In reply to catof7:
Nah, not working in any dungeon, nor in battlegrounds. Just leave it abondoned.
Please Update!
This is one of the best addons I ever found.!
Kind Regards!
Any plans of updating for WOD?
Looking forward to that.
Sure would be nice if people just opened a ticket in the bug tracker...
Anyhow...what unit frame addon, if any, do you use?
Barf
Sorry. looked at the tickets but didnt really look like it was seeing much use. my appoligies.
I get error using the default raid/unit frames as well as with unitframesimproved (not using anymore due to other issues but i will admit when i stopped using it the error frequency drecreased.)
only addons i can think of touching the raid frames would be blizzard raid frame -icons and blizzard raid frame indicators.
Could you just bump the toc, so the libmapdata would update and include ToT?
Done.
Nice :)
Hi,l i dont know why...... But since I use your addon, it causes me not being able to click on myself in the raidframes any more (default raidframes). It's also showing an arrow key on myself (it's from the person I get when clicking on myself). Instead it selects someone else from another group.. ? 25man raid.
Somehow it messes the whole raid frame up, i can't click on some targets in the frame or it gives me other targets...
Using Default UI.
This is the first time I've ever heard of such a thing. I'll try to replicate the problem and get back to you.

I would like to address the issue people are seeing with this addon and the arrow not showing up. There are several reasons for this:
Let me know if you find that the addon isn't working where you feel it should. I'll still fix bugs, but I make no promisses regarding new features.

I had totally forgotten that I had "Add support for only tracking units that are out of range" in the TODO. I found that I didn't miss that functionality, which existed in this addon's predecessor, FriendlyArrow. I wrote this mainly as a standalone replacement of FriendlyArrow which didn't depend on TomTom.
While I still play WoW and rely on this addon myself every time I play (my main's a healer), I have no plans to work on this any time soon. Sorry.
Barf
I can confirm that it works with elvui.
I'm happy I found this because this means I can continue using elvui raid grid instead of Vuhdo.
I hope the "Only track out of range" feature comes soon.
hope your addon is like little arrows feature from nameplates advanced. you know advanced setting.
anyways i'ma try it
