"Do I Know You?" - The question asked by countless WoW players when looking for a group, someone to trade 400g of enchanting mats to, or just chatting in the Barrens.

This addon helps you and your guild keep track of those people, by storing your opinion of them and a note, and making this information easy to see by adding it to your tooltip and automatically informing you when interacting with others.

The real power behind this is guild usage. This addon uses the guild shared data channel to share your opinion of other players, so you can be informed of potential without ever seeing them before.

Features:

Set notes for players of both factions
Display rep and notes in tooltip
Share data with guild
Notes saved across characters, pug with one, avoid on another!
Auto-query other players when interacting (grouping, whispering, trading)
Adds a rep indicator to players' names in chat!
View rep + notes on your friends list.
Data browser to search your saved data

As you can see, I did volunteer to take over development. Don't expect any wonders popping up overnight, though.
I'll get myself acquainted with the code after next week's exams and probably will add a German localization first. Then I'll delve deeper into the code

Thats great! :) I'm mostly concerned about keeping it at the current patchlevel, new functions are only secondary.

I just saw this addon and liked the idea and simple execution - I'll have a look into it over the next weeks as university exams prevent me from doing more immediately.
I'll post again if I take over and will probably setup the code development at github so that everyone may participate, contribute or just add a bug report.

Is there anyone who has decided to pick up this wonderful addon? It would be a shame to loose DIKY, since there is no other addon out there with the same features. I wish I could do it myself, but as it is my only hope is that someone else will continue DoIknowYou. Someone? Anyone? Pretty please?!

Addon marked as inactive as I'm no longer developing it. I finally quit wow, huzzah!

If someone wants to take over, feel free. I think the best way is to submit a report as "requires moderator attention" here: http://www.wowace.com/admin/reports/create/projects_project-5945-do-iknow-you/
State your intention to take over development. It should be quite clear from the description if a moderator checks :)

@TurtlePrime - sorry, bad design there. There is no way (afaik) to edit the normal note while doiknowyou is active.

Please note that this project is now marked as "abandoned" intentionally. I would love to see someone take over, but if I'm honest I don't really care as I plan to be paying as little attention to wow as possible in the future =)

I like most of the existing functionality of this addon, but there is one thing I'd like to at least have the option of disabling. On my friends list, clicking the 'note' icon now goes directly to DIKY to set a note for the person that way, rather than the default note method built into WoW. I like having a private note for people just on my friends list, such as the name of the person who plays that character. Is there any way to edit a regular note without disabling DIKY?

If I'm reading the code correctly, the addon automatically removes comments that are more than 2 weeks old? And it just happens silently, without notifying the user?

lol not a prob, I guess if a person is curious enough to see why someone in chat is red, they can look it up (somehow? lol) Not sure how you can double check the information (?) (does it allow checking in say /who? how do you query, in other words lol) And okay (hope you do someday do ldb :p) but in the meantime, is it a button to call up the config or is it slash commands? ^_^ It looks amazing though, so while I am curious on those things, I'm downloading it lol. I don't mind not sharing info with 'certain' people or 'certain people' being able to be shared... I prefer private ^^ If someone is a someone not to job or join, I'll just read my detailed notes so I can tell the person why we might not want them with us (if the case is bad enough to warrant it lol). Trust me, I don't want notes to escape into the 'wild' so to speak lol.

This looks amazing...but I have a question

Is there a way to not share this with other people? ^^ I love the functionality that appears to be here, tooltip, comments, ratings, coloring on friends and lfm, and the ignore list...but I personally would want it to be for my eyes only. If it happens to be a guildie, or a shared friend, I wouldn't want them to be like "oh reeeeeaally" lol, I also wouldn't want to personally advertise someone to be a bad person to party with based on my own opinions, as they are just my opinions. But I am looking for something like this, for my own references (Besides, sometimes you meet someone and when they contact you eons later, you wonder how you met them ^^ I actually had that happen the other day v.v god was it embarrassing lmao)

also, is there ldb broker support? (Titan ftw lol) and also, when you see the names in chat (example: /2 "lfm 1 more then gtg" (name of player in red) is there a way to see what your notes on them were (or is it tooltip if you hover over the name?)

Definately going to keep an eye on this space, really looking forward to your reply ^_^

In the "Other" tab of options you'll find checkboxes to toggle "Send addon messages" and "Parse incoming addon messages". These seperate options allow you to keep your own notes private (never sending them to anyone) while still receiving notes from your guild. I do intend to add a per-person option, so you can simply select "Private note" when making a comment, but for now it's all notes or none.

There is no ldb support or tooltips in chat at the moment. I'm afraid I really don't know how I'd implement chat tooltips, but ldb is something I can look into soon :)

Could you create a ticket on the project with the error message? If you install an addon such as BugSack (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/bugsack.aspx) it will capture the error and make it much easier to post.

Thanks for that, I didn't do the russian localisation myself and don't speak it, so was unlikely to catch it on my own. I've swapped them over in the latest revision.

In Russian localization, words for "neutral" and "negative" are swapped (so it shows red "neutral" in tooltips and main window, or yellow "negative").

Ok, I love this addon and the functions it has and how much simpler it has made pugging people, I had all my guild install it for this sole purpose but now everyone is complaining of an error spamming the error frame.

Is this project still under mainteinance?
