DrDamage
Update 05/24/2013
DrDamage is currently being developed for 5.x. Only monks (of any spec) are not supported. All classes which existed prior to Mists are supported.
Current state: Check the http://www.wowace.com/addons/dr-damage/pages/known-issues Page before providing feedback!
DrDamage displays the calculated damage or healing of abilities with talents, gear and buffs included on your actionbar buttons. The addon also adds various statistics to the tooltips in your spellbook and on the actionbar.
Slash Commands:
/drd or /drdmg or /drdamage
Localization:
If you want to help having this addon translated into your language visit: http://www.wowace.com/projects/dr-damage/localization/
Functionality:
- Supports all classes
- Actionbar addons supported: Default, Bartender 4, CT_BarMod, Dominos, elvUI, Macaroon, Nurfed AB, IPopBar, nUI, ReAction Bars and RDX.
- Places text with the metric of your choosing on the actionbar buttons.
- Damage and healing statistics are placed into your tooltips. This includes for example critical hit chance, spell damage and damage coefficients, averages, DPS, DPSC (damage per seconds cast), damage until OOM and more!
- Your own buffs and your target's debuffs are taken into account.
- Allows manual modification of the essential talents, buffs and character stats used to calculate. For example you can test how much increasing your spellpower by 100 would increase your damage or healing output.
- If you're overwhelmed by the amount of statistics presented, you can use the options reduce the amount to whatever you feel is important!

Id like to know a little more about the specifics of how you calculate damage. What is this 'adaptable' formula thing you speak of? Aren't formulas fixed? What about rogue damage?
Also, as a rogue, Dr. Damage averages are different than my RogueDamage mod's averages. I'd like to know which mod is right :/
Adaptable as in the same engine calculates all the different abilities damage based on a few parameters set in the class modules.
I have no clue how RogueDamage calculates, if it includes armor mitigation, dodge, parry block etc. Without this information it's impossible to determine what's right.
on my warrior, heroic strike the averagetotal is wrong, it says "63" where average hit is somewhere around 200 and average crit around 400. yet avg total says 63 for rank 5...
Well, it's not wrong, but the value isn't what you think. Since it replaces your white melee, that value is actually avg total heroic strike - avg total white melee. I'm going to change it to display avg total since people don't seem to see where the value is coming from.
What I would love is the ability to select a 'just dropped' weapon or from a vendor and simulate equipping it for a quick calculation. Let you try before you buy. Something like this possible?
A plugin that does this is possible to create, but personally I don't plan to implement it into core DrDamage. It requires a bit of tooltip scanning which I'm reluctant to do myself.
what is it?
hey guys i have problem with this addon. i use trinity bars and the addon doesn't show the text on the bars, you know how it would show the damage.
anyone else have this problem?
This has been fixed in the latest wowace release and will be uploaded here in a few days (v 1.2.1).
Mage 70 - Blizzard:
The damage coefficient of Blizzard was modified in the last patch, when the damage cap was also introduced. The coefficient currently used by Dr Damage leads to a lower value for the damage actually dealt by the spell.
Let me know if you'd like me to do a quick experiment to find out the right coefficient.
Warrior 36 - Slam:
DPS computation is missing.
Warrior 36 - Execute:
The average damage computation takes into account current rage (neat!), but the DPR computation assumes 15 rage, so it's incorrect.
I've fixed these in the latest wowace release, will release it here some point after 2.3
Hi to all i am sort of old player of WoW and i wanted to try some refreshments to my playing the thing is that when i downloaded the Addon and by mistake i closed it xP and now its just staying off tried to re install it but no use.Can any1 help me cuz i rly liked that addon?It is in the Addon List but i cant figure out how to turn it ON...
@ WowGrizz, this is caused by trinity bars, i have the same problem.
they used to work well together but now they dont anymore.
The newest version of trinity doesnt give any errors anymore like it did with some older versions but it also doesnt display the numerical value on the buttons anymore
I have a question I hope someone will be helpful with. I would like to know how to get DrDamage to show the numerical value on my cast buttons. First off, I tried on the general menu to "Toggle values on/off". this did not work. I curently am able to mouse over a particular spell and see the Damage average I would expect, but I went for this UI Mod for the value on the button functionality. Other mods loaded are Trinity bars, FuBar, Gatherer, Omen, KTM Threat meter, oRA2, X-Pearl unit frames, Auctioneer and Item Rack.
Thanks,
Rob
Hello,
I've heard certain versions of Trinity cause issues and a newer version or a beta version solves it. If you'd try this out and report back.

Hi,
is there a way to display DrDamage infos on the second lower left and right standard bars?
TIA
Hello,
I'm not exactly sure which bars you are referring to as all the default bars should be supported. If you'd hover over the buttons in question with your mouse cursor and tell me what the following commands print out:
/print GetMouseFocus():GetName()
/print GetMouseFocus():GetParent():GetName()
I could see if there's anything wrong.
Hey is there anyway to remove the huge pop-up tooltip screen for melee abilities? On a shaman atm and able to remove the huge caster pop-up tooltip when scrolling over the spell but unable to find anywhere to disable it for stormstrike.
Thanks for the help if anyone is able :)
I get error DrDamage.lua: 1115: GetSpellName(): Invalid spell slot. I'm using Trinity actionbar, if that's relevent (latest stable release). Can you fix ASAP please?
@Yutaka
I think this is a trinity issue, another user reported it working with the newer Trinity beta version.
