GatherMate2
GatherMate2 is an addon to collect and track herbs, mines, fishing pools, gas clouds, archaelogy finds and treasures, and displays them on the world map and the mini map.
This is the Retail version of GatherMate2, the version for WoW Classic can be found here
GatherMate will remember the location of every herb you pick or every ore you mine, so that you can easily find the positions of the herbs and mines again. Once you come into range of a recorded spot, GatherMate will show an icon representing the type of herb/ore/fish/etc. on your mini map, directly allowing you to decide if its worth checking out. Additionally, all spots are shown on the World Map, to ease navigation to certain types of nodes and making gathering more fun.
To give you a head start, GatherMate2 also offers a pre-filled data module, so you don't need to discover all herbs and mines yourself, but instead can just start gathering right away. Simply install GatherMate2_Data and hit a few buttons to import all the provided data, and you're good to go.

Usage
Using GatherMate2 is straight-forward.
After the installation, GatherMate2 is automatically active and collecting data.
You can configure which data should be shown on the World Map or MiniMap in the Configuration Dialog, which can be accessed either via the /gathermate slash command or be found in the Interface options in the WoW Menu.
Localization (Translation of Nodes)
GatherMate2 relies on the node names to be translated in all languages WoW supports. You can contribute additional translations for your language here using the Localization tool:
https://www.wowace.com/projects/gathermate2/localization
Any translations submitted through that tool will be automatically included in the next release.
GatherMate2_Data
GatherMate2_Data has been updated with all fresh data from Wowhead, including support for Shadowlands, and will be continously updated throughout the coming expansion.
If you are looking for a pre-filled database for GatherMate2, get GatherMate2_Data here:

no the red zone is where you would go survey for artifacts. till you actually dig out up it wont record the location you found it in.
enUS ... When I zone out to continent view, like Kalimdor, I see shovels, but when I click on a zone, like Northern Stranglethorn, I see the red area, but no shovels, so the artifacts could be anywhere within the red zone. Naturally, I am not getting missing translation errors LOL.
Unless I am not understanding GM2's functionality, and the red zone IS GM2, and there is no icon indicating coordinates....
what locale are you in? the dig sites might be missing translations in that language
Then I must not have it set up properly, because I don't see the icon (shovel?) for successful digs on the world map or minimap. Wonder what I changed, because I don't think I changed anything in the config. Hmm...
it will add a mark if you find something manually. the dataset is just for convience its not reuiqred at all. GatherMate2 already supports gas clouds and archaeology dig sites. just go extract some motes or survey up some artifacts.
If WowHead doesn't track dig sites or clouds, is it possible to add them to GM2 and track them manually? For example, mark a shovel on 32.5 97.9 in Tanaris if you found something there? I made up those coordinates, so don't look there! In other words, assume the player does not have GM2_Data, and still mark for those things the same way GatherMate2 tracks fish, mines, treasure, and herbs if you don't have the Data file?
i gotta go check the logs then blizz might have redone the events for deaths. Also gtahermate2 data only has data for a small set of clouds not all of them cause wowhead doesnt track them
I don't quite understand all things here at this site yet so I'll let you know I posted a ticket about this issue also. I am currently using GatherMate2-1.0.6.7-ga843c5c and GatherMate2_Date-r29 because when I use the newest release versions of these two they don't leave behind icons for Windy Clouds in Nagrand and Steam Clouds in Scholazar Basin. These are the only two zones I tried the newest versions on. Also, the icons it is leaving behind now in Nagrand are those of Steam Clouds instead of Windy Clouds not that it matters to me, location is most importand I just thought I'd let you know.
wowhead doesnt have any digsite data to import hence why nothing shows on import of dig sites, you have to fnd them manually.
What zone was the dig site following you in?
Used Gathermate for a long time, til GM2 came, working just as it supposed to do. However I do noticed one bug, when I do Arch. and I "dig" the spot, the circle would appear, thats good, however when I fly away from the location, the mini-map that shows the circle would "follow" me to another location/change zone then it'll disappear.
Just thought to let ya know... Vandiel of Thunderlord
I know Archeology has been added to both this and to GM2_Data, but I never see nodes, shovels, or some other icon to indicate a spot. It is selected on my import settings, and I import Cataclysm from the drop down menu; something I am missing?
ty for u work
I am a new gather2 user. I have a level 70 druid with herbalism I have set this up and went to Nagrand. While I can see the nodes, the addon thinks I have already gathered there and won't let me pick up the herbs. What am I doing wrong?
