This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
Collects Herbs, Mines, Gas Clouds and Fishing locations and adds them to the worldmap and minimap.
Please note this has been replaced with GatherMate2 for Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria.
Same problem as exorr. The latest release (1.0.12) is horribly broken for me. No nodes show on the map and I get an error whenever I mouse over a node in game.
I installed the update this morning and now GatherMate is broken. I can't get it to open and whenever I mouse over a node I get an error message. None of my locations are appearing on the mini map either.
Seems to me uh.. there is a database that comes out every few weeks... Recently my cache got corrupted. Rather than weed out the offending garbage. I just deleted the folder and started over. One thing I had to do was import the wowhead database ported for gathermate. THAT was very easy.
Silggee, it is a known problem. Patch 3.0.8 renamed all the names of the nodes to deposits and veins, such as Cobalt Node to Cobalt Deposit. Try downloading the latest alpha for now.
is it just me thats having problems with cobalt deposits (both normal and rich) not creating a node on the map? cant say if the same problem is for saronite and titanium
a couple of tips. Firstly only saronite and cobalt are now called deposits, titanium is a vein. also if you change the description in the .lua you will lose everything that you have previously recorded as a node, so you should copy and paste the required lines so the mini map shows the old nodes and new deposits. the author should take this into account when he finally gets around to updating this.
Don't know if it's just me or not, but whenever I gather an Icethorn or Lichbloom in Storm Peaks, it removes the node(s) at that location and replaces it with a Frozen Herb.
I did as suggested below, cleared all my nodes in EPL and mined a vein to get a fresh node.. no good, it still moves over the minimap. Could your coords be good but the minimap translation wrong?
DO-IT-YOURSELF FIX:
1) open gathermate in your Addons folder (outside of the game before running, obviously)
2) Open Constants.lua with Wordpad
3) do a Cntrl+F search for Cobalt
4) find anywhere that refers to a cobalt, titanium, or saronite "node" and replace "node" with "deposit"
5) you literally are just deleting the word node for each reference and replacing it with the word deposit. Couldnt be more simple. I did it, I'm using it, and confirmed problem is fixed.
I love this addon but I am having trouble with having a lot of empty circles. I know there is really something there (ore, herb, etc.) when a yellow circle appears in the middle of the circle but I have to be close to it to get a yellow dot. What am I doing wrong? I am becoming frustrated because I run toward ore, herb, etc. only to find nothing there.
Installed mod and it simply will not work. Doesn't mark any nodes when I mine but it sure likes to tell me when someone else does. I've been in the config like 9987239874324 times to make sure the right boxes are checked. Not sure what's going on but it's totally frustrating.
It appears cobalt nodes have been renamed to Cobalt Deposit with 3.0.8. Others may have been renamed as well. This is causing GM to not register them. I changed all references in the addon to the new name and that fixed the problem.

Intended change since stormpeaks can spawn either at the location. Choosea generic frozen herb instead for easy routes and tracking.

German translation of these name changes are:
NL["Cobalt Deposit"] = "Kobaltablagerung"
NL["Rich Cobalt Deposit"] = "Reiche Kobaltablagerung"
NL["Titanium Vein"] = "Titanvorkommen"
NL["Saronite Deposit"] = "Saronitablagerung"
NL["Rich Saronite Deposit"] = "Reiche Saronitablagerung"

Seems all Northrend mines name have change from 'deposit' to 'node'
