GnomeWorks TradeSkill Frame -
a complete replacement for the blizzard trade skill frame.
204 is working well. No issues with cooking that I can see. Thanks Lilsparky!
BTW any chance that you could maintain the state of category & sub-category display being opened or closed after log-out per toon (or just in general)? See this is what happens when you get all the regular stuff fixed, people want enhancements lol.
there's a little problem with r203. the display on skill up chance displays anything under 100% as 0.* . eg :0.9755554 instead of 98%
I hope you know what i mean, heheh
cool. i only have a single subcategory available to me at the moment, so it's good to hear it's working properly. whoever adjusted to the code to account for these new "subheaders" in tradeskills wasn't aware of the recipe grouping abilities of gnomeworks so they just essentially skipped those subgroups rather than creating gw subgroups. honestly, i suspect most people don't really know of the recipe grouping system in gw since it's kind of an unadvertised mechanism.
i suppose documentation would help. in case i have piqued people's interest, you can create completely custom layouts and recipe groupings by dragging and dropping recipes (or recipe folders). you can also create new empty groups with ctrl-n or group the currently selected recipes into a new group with ctrl-g. double click on a group name to rename it. groups can contain groups. but you must first create a custom layout by either copying the current layout or by creating a new empty layout (button next to the group selection).
r200 should color everything including all cooking recipes. it still won't collect skill levels for those tho. i need to sort out the sub level stuff still.
Hi.
I deleted saved variables, so it have to scan all professions.
But then when i login a character it starts to scan and im get World of warcraft retail has stopped working.. but not on all servers. looks like its maybe only on Server Silvermoon.
update. deleted settings again and first char. did get Gnomeworks to start and it did a full scan.
2 char started original crafting got open and started a scan and this time it did finish the scan. but no crafting window can open. "No Error"
so i made a /reload and this time it works.
do you typically have large numbers of things in your queue? does it lag when the frame is up or all the time?
gw does react to new inventory, but shouldn't throw much heavy processing unless there are lots of things queued up or you have the frame up. reducing lag has been a focus, but the goal has always been to avoid having an "update" button you must hit to keep data fresh.
i'm assuming you have multiple toons, right? the scanning will only take place if you log in with a second toon on the same server in the same faction. even if it's just a dummy toon. is it only missing data on enchanting? the all recipes links are good for looking at what's missing in terms of skill up data.
I have no skill data for enchanting with 197. I will try with 199. I deleted my saved variables gnomeworks file (in addition to deleting the gnomeworks folder in the addons dir, which I do for all addons when updating them).
Thz for the update.
The start is working now, but skill up show 0% on all recipes in Leather-working.
and it looks that it crashes wow when doing a full scan when logging other chars,
it counts up scanning 100, 200, up to 700 then crashing wow.. think its Gnomeworks. :(
I love your addon, but it lags for me when my inventory changes. It freezes every time a new item is placed in my inventory - on looting, taking mail, buying inks, etc. What could be the cause?
hmm... are you not getting skill colors? did it run the skill level scan on your toon? i think the only skill levels missing might be some cooking recipes that i can't scan for since they're not linkable.
i've added a delay to the loading to ensure the UnitGUID is available for the current player before initializing.
also incorporated window locking thru the right-click menu on the title frame.
you can lock the windows so they don't move at all and you can lock them so that you can only move them by holding down control. shift is already in use as a window scale modifier (scales the frame instead of resizing it).
Hi, new version dont start with wow, getting this error.

@deleewit
i'll take a look. i changed some formatting stuff with the skillup chance, so i probably broke that.

Just tried v202 and its looking good. The skill categories for cooking really help. Thanks!
Using r200 this error popped up (trimmed):
Message: ..\AddOns\GnomeWorks\Inventory.lua line 378: Attempt to find 'this' in non-table object (used '.' instead of ':' ?)
(edit) also need to correct the spelling of the second 'IsVisible' call
r200 should color everything including all cooking recipes. it still won't collect skill levels for those tho. i need to sort out the sub level stuff still.
@lilsparky
Yeah, I see the same behavior. Everything worked after reloading (GW 200).
Also, everything is colored now, thank you!
@thomasd
yeah, i think after a full scan like that, something breaks in gw. i'll try to sort it out, but it seems to be okay after reloads...

It lags only when I have GW main frame up. I use TSM, and it requires to have tradeskill panel opened for crafting.

@thomasd
what crashes? does it boot you or lock up? that scanning is deriving the skill up levels. unless it finishes, you won't get skill levels.

anybody else having issues with mop skill levels?
Will skill ups and colorization for MoP be available soon? I keep having to bypass GW just to figure out what things I get points for, and how many.
i've added a delay to the loading to ensure the UnitGUID is available for the current player before initializing.
