GnomeWorks TradeSkill Frame -
a complete replacement for the blizzard trade skill frame.
the scanning process goes thru all the recorded trade skill links for all your alts and records which trade skills are known by each one. it does this by opening each trade skill and see what recipes are there, then moving on to the next once it's collected the data. i think it's more effort than it's worth, tho.
i don't want to record a huge table for each toon's known/unknown spells and store that in the saved vars. it would be great to simply decode the links themselves, but that requires having a list of all recipes. that method is doable, but it requires a comprehensive scan each patch. that scan would take maybe 5 minutes or so the first time you log in after a patch. this is how gnomish yellow pages current operates.
i suppose i could record some big string of spell id's for each toon which would be not quite as bad as a table, then convert it to a table on load... that might be a better option.
Why is it when I log in, I get a scanning window always pop up? It scans and then scans again everytime I log in, sometimes the only way to get it to end is to click on your profession tab to get it to end. Aside from that, it's a beautiful work of art!
r55 had the queue popping up on every bag update (and probably a few other events). r56 should restrict this to only popping up when you visit the ah, your bank, your guild bank, or a vendor. this will be restricted further to only pop up when you have items in your shopping list that are available from the whatever you're interacting with.
What is up with the Queue window popping up _CONSTANTLY_. Is there a way to turn this feature off. It pops up any time I interact with anything... open my bags, click the Flight dude... anything...
And I have to turn both Gnome _and_ LSW off when crafting Inks because otherwise LSW will try to update the prices cache after every craft creating a lag. If there's some way to change this behavior I haven't found it.
ink trading is something gw should do. keep in mind that while gw is generally usable and stable, it's still alpha and may totally break at times and functionality may come and go as things get whipped into shape.
@BigDaddyBigD
For what I saw you can use GnomeWorks to buy parchment and inks from vendors. Just open the vendor window (ie Jessica Sellers) and left click (beware to click only once) on the item you want to buy on GnomeWorks reagents list.
A note to all getting the LinkDecode.lua error and the popup in the middle of your screen, open your spellbook then shift+click one of your profession links, it will go away and you can then open your tradeskills again.
@FyreMast
That is correct, if you use the default link. When you load it into curse, right click and change release-type to beta, and that still doesn't download r99 change it to alpha, then it will pull from curse just fine.
just a note, if you try to use the CURSE link to download/install LilSparky'sWorkshop you will get a VERY old version (r90 i think it was). this version will NOT work right at all.
If you use the Download (not curse) link, and manually install it into Wow folders, you will get current (r99) version.
I was looking at this as a trade skill window replacement but the queue ALWAYS popping up when I open a vendor is enough for me not to consider it. I used skillet for a long time until it broke and have been using TradeSkill HD till this patch and do not want to be stuck with ATSW or whatever it is called, but the ability to disable the queue is a game breaker for me.
The windows in the middle of the screen isn't there everytime though.
It nearly always pop-up on loading, but most times it disappear on its own (probably because the tradeskill scanning is over), but roughly 1/3rd of the time it stays there and you have to open/lose the ts windows from the Spellbook to clear it off.
For the queue windows, same behaviour there, it popups every time i open the AH or tradeskills (except of course when i need it, those times i must toggle it manually :)).
Bricklethumb>> Thanx for the info. ;)
Also, when i first login there is a window in the center that says "<Character> [First Aid] 17 recipes" Not sure if this is supposed to be there or not but only way i've found to get rid of it is to open and close tradeskill window. Thank you for you time LS.

just got the panel in the middle of the screen. I did get a taint if that helps. Looks like it's secure header stuff maybe :(

Just started playing with this but haven't been able to figure out: is there a way to reorder the queue?

r56 - the queue window is driving me nuts. it pops up all the time.
Can we get a button/command to rescan our tradeskills?
How do i go about getting GW to use altaholic since I have multiple posting alts?
