This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
GnomeWorks TradeSkill Frame -
a complete replacement for the blizzard trade skill frame.
fwiw, it's probably easier to do "/script GnomeWorksDB = nil" then "/reload" rather than exiting, deleting, and restarting. it's effectively the same thing.
i tracked down the problem with glyphs not being tracked in inventory properly. i had originally only intended to track reagents rather than crafted items. the bag/bank scan was never modified to track inventories of crafted items as well as reagents, so bags/banks never thought to look for glyphs, etc. the guldbank scan is a different operation and knew to look for them. it should track them now.
@Reifu (& anyone else) If you're not, make sure that WoW is not running when you delete your saved variables file. If you delete the file while WoW is running, they'll just get recreated when you exit.
Been Using Gnomeworks this week for Enchanting, Inscription, Tailoring and JC, have ran into lots of small bugs, some that have been fixed with the last couple of versions, but here is a list of what I ran into last nigh with r65:
1. At random times Gnomeworks sort of locks out, i can't click on a recipe to see its ingredients, I have to either reload ui or sometimes re-log.
2. Conversions for Inks is still screwy, I queued up about 200 glyphs and it is still telling you to buy herbs, BUT if I then cleared the queue and reloaded UI, then input the exact queue again this time it shows what inks I need.
3. Lots of issues with it not showing that I have materials on alts, and I am not able to to find out what alt its on when it does say alt.
4. For enchanting I have been running into minor issues off and on that have been solved with reloading the UI or re-logging in regards to materials needed, it will give me a list of materials i need for a queue, but when I start crafting 20-30 enchants and get near the bottom it starts saying you need more materials.
5. When I made some Frostweave bags last night (which worked fine) then started queuing up gems or even enchanting for some reason it was show the materials needed as what I used for tailoring, a re-logging and reloading UI didn't fix it, I had to uninstall Gnomeworks, and delete the saved variables, then reinstall it to actually get it working.
*EDIT* I decided to make a large glyph queue to show you an issue, In this screen shot I had a ton of ink of the sea in my bags, clicked on the word "Vendor" to buy all the inks I needed for the queue, and did the same for parchments. BUT now it is showing that I still need lots of ink of the sea and in my reagent list telling me i need 585 Fire leaf to finish the queue.
A question:
Is there any known addons that may conflict with Gnomeworks to prevent me from using the buy from vendor features of Gnomesworks? I had to disable everything except KTQ and Gnomeworks to get it to work.
I am currently using:
Auctioneer
AuctionLite
Lil'Sparky's Workshop
KevTool Queue
Auditor
Auction Profit Master
Scroll Master
Altoholic
Aside from all the issues I still love the addon and cannot wait till these bugs are smashed :)
I am loving GnomeWorks so far, but I have a huge issue with it and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I've read about others who had this issue in the past but I haven't seen anything about it lately, yet the issue still remains for me.
The issue is that GnomeWorks absolutely refuses to acknowledge that I have glyphs in my inventory, no matter if it is on the currently logged on character or on an alt. It shows absolutely nothing in the "Inventory" column, no matter how many glyphs I may own.
I've tried to delete GnomeWorks.lua to reset my settings and then relog all my characters many times over to give it a chance to record everything. Even crafting a few glyphs and leaving them in the crafter's bags just in case. But nothing seems to help. It shows other items perfectly in the "Inventory" column, like inks and Alchemy stuff, just not any glyphs.
I've also used tons of different versions of GW including the latest right now (r65), but none have made the slightest difference regarding this issue.
This is starting to get really frustrating, any idea what the problem could be?
Edit: Actually I just found Ticket #140, which seems to describe the exact issue I am having. I just tried putting a glyph in my bank one in my gbank and voila, the one in the guild bank instantly showed up in the "Inventory" column. The others are still missing though. Definitely some kind of bug there.
r65 - The craft list is telling me I have the mats to make 261 Snowfall Ink, when I actually have (on all alts etc.) the mats to make 10, and its telling me I have 523 Snowfall Ink in my bags (and none on alts) when I actually have 25 on me and 150 odd on alts).
Don't know if this has been fixed but on r63 the queue would freeze if I had say 10 x Any Glyph Name Here and the mats for 5, it will make 5, then the Craft button greys out as it does when processing. Only way to get it working again was a reloadui.
my two bobs worth. With r65 what happens now is the following.
I run my little KTQ script to get my shopping list.
I get all the relevant pa4rchments and inks in the vendor section
I buy all the required items
All good - list ready to make 6 or 9 of the various glyphs
I click process for first glyph - 6 to make
I make the six but GW does not delete the item once made. It then re lists the required items to make 6 more of that glyph if I don't have them in my bag
I manually delete the itme I have made and GW list is back to normal.
I make 2nd item and all does it again. I do go on and make all the glyphs but none are removed by GW.
Hope this helps for you guys. Thanks . great mod. Most excellent
One more thing, as a suggestion. I've always hated it that the searching in every trade-skill frame searches for both the name of the item and the item's reagents with no differentiation. It seems silly that if I type in Frostweave Cloth, or even Bolt of Frostweave Cloth, that I only filter out a few things and still have to scroll through a ton of listings to find the actual entry for Bolt of Frostweave Cloth.
I suggest that if there is a craftable item whose name directly matches the search terms, that you move that to the top. I'm not suggesting we need—or would even want—some kind of intelligent RecipeRank™ technology, but this two-tier approach would be very helpful.
The first time I press Process, GW will craft the 6 inks.
The second time I press Process, GW will craft the 2 glyphs.
The 2 glyphs are crafted, but there is still an entry in my queue to make one more. If I click Process, it will go down to zero.
I did plug in the line that you suggested to down-prioritize virtual trades: I just can't work with only Ink of the Sea for every single glyph I make, and if I have to go through and click each one to switch the prereqs, there's no real benefit to using GW at all. I don't imagine this is the issue though.
I just found another bug too.
I click an item in the recipe list, (e.g., Darkmoon Card)
then click one of its craftable prereqs (e.g., Ink of the Sky) in the reagent list,
then try to queue that craftable prereq. Instead of queueing up Ink of the Sky, it queues up Darkmoon card.
I'm getting extra crafting with r65. If I queue up 2 of an item and it has to make prereqs. GW will process 2, then still leave 1 sitting in the queue and end up making 3.
r64 fixes a few small errors. i hope it will fix the processing lockout bug, but we'll see...
i've also put in simple check to convert vendor conversion recipes into true vendor items so long as you have the requisite currency on hand. hope it functions properly.
So I've been a long time user of ATSW and this addon is 100% better in a lot of subtle ways. Thank you for developing it and keep up the good work.
I encountered this error today when I opened my professions window with a professions broker addon I've used for a long time now. I just shows the error once when I first open the profession that gaming session then it goes away so this isn't game breaking but it would be nice to clear up if possible. Another note is this error message appears with both Skillet and Gnomeworks.

If I queue up to make two of one glyph:

what is still in the queue? your prereq or your manually queued item?
I'm getting extra crafting with r65. If I queue up 2 of an item and it has to make prereqs. GW will process 2, then still leave 1 sitting in the queue and end up making 3.
sweet, works like a charm. been waiting for this fix for a while!
yeah, i think i broke something in r64. try r65 and see if that's any better.
im trying to create 600 ink of the sea and its just not doing it.
with r63 when i queued them, and clicked process it worked, but died when i clicked on "create all"
with r64 none of them works. no errors, just stops after creating 1. it says processing ink of the sea x0
with my castbar 'Quartz' enabled, 64 errors for quartz.
i had to disable gnomeworks to be able to make the inks.
r64 fixes a few small errors. i hope it will fix the processing lockout bug, but we'll see...
i've also put in simple check to convert vendor conversion recipes into true vendor items so long as you have the requisite currency on hand. hope it functions properly.
the internal bag error comes from trying to buy more than a stack of ink at a time. i'll correct that.
Hi r63 tells error on Horde proudmoore
1x GnomeWorks-63\LinkDecode.lua:201: attempt to concatenate field '?' (a nil value)
Locals:
-I'm noticing when creating glyphs, anytime I get to a vendor conversion for inks, I get an internal bag error, and I have to purchase them manually.
neo, that mod seems to be designed to work with the blizzard tradeskill frame rather than other mods. you might try subbing line 170 in core.lua with:
see if that solves your problem.
