Gnomish Yellow Pages

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

The Gnomish Yellow Pages will monitor all chat traffic to identify people advertising trade skills. As trade skill ads are identified, they are recorded and stored for later retrieval.

type: /gyp

to bring up a window with all information in an easy to read table.

strangers names appear in white guildmates are displayed in green friends are displayed in yellow

anybody in your local zone is shown in cyan

all offline players are red

the row of trade skill buttons will access the entire database of trade recipes so you can search for whatever recipe you wish. click to open whatever trade skill browser you use.

when browsing a trade skill, selecting a recipe will cause gyp to update the trade link color to light blue if that recipe is contained in that link. also any searches in the trade skill browser will be reflected in the gyp link color -- links that contain none of the recipes returned by the search will be dark yellow; normal yellow links indicate that at least one of the recipes in the browser window matches the trade link.

yeah, turn off the "update stangers" function in the options dialog (accessed via the blizzard interface options panel).

i realy like this addon and wold like to know if there are plans on an update on it for the 4.0.1 it keeps getting hungup on pattens that where taken out of the game when it pulls from the server

It would be awesome if you could add a column that displays the fee each worker is asking for.
You will need some string scanning for "fee" and number closer to "gold" or "g" at the end. That should give you a good start.

in r60 I updated the TOC and incorporated a patch of Tonkar.

libs, pkgmeta and the version are updated too.

it's an unfortunate side effect of a change in libWho from a few months back.

libWho is bundled in a bunch of mods (WIM is a popular one). you can disable the stranger location update in the options pane to disable the automated /who calls. at some point, i need to switch to using libWho i guess.

I got a problem, with GYP activated it keeps opening a /who list every few seconds.

What am I doing wrong?

There is a guy putting out repaired versions of a few out-dated mods that the authors either wont or dont have time to fix. It's over on wowinterface and its called the Auction and Tradeskill Compliation. GYP is in it. You can DL the whole thing then pick and choose what you want to install into your addon folder.

Would like a minimap button to open the main page easyer rather than making a macro or typing it in with the slash commands.

WIM uses the /who function. That may be what's making the Who List pop up for many.
