This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

Adds manabars to the sides of Grid frames.

Description

GridManaBars consist of two parts: a new bar indicator and a status which provides the power (mana, energy, rage, runepower) of an unit as a status. If you register the mana status with the bar indicator you get a mana bar (which should be set this way per default).

In case of Problems

Please use only the release versions of this addon! While I keep sure that every release version works with the latest Grid release I do not care if the latest alpha or beta versions do. I care even less if the latest alpha or beta of GridManaBars works with the latest alpha or beta of Grid. So if you encounter problems first make sure you are using the release version because if not it might happen I'll just ignore your ticket/question/whatever :-).

Note: GridManaBars has to hack itself somewhat into Grid in a way not supported by Grid. Most times this works well but it can cause trouble (especially after an update of Grid). So if you encounter any Problems with Grid and you have this addon installed try disabling GridManaBars before you create a ticket for Grid itself. If the problem disappears when you disable GridManaBars you can create a ticket for this addon instead for Grid itself. The authors of Grid have enough tickets to handle they don't need to handle tickets caused by this addon too.

Is the mana bar invertable to make the depleted mana darker and the remaining mana lighter (Inverted from the default). It would really make it fit with the "Grid -> Frame -> Invert Bar Color" setting. I hope you could take your time to help me and my stupidity out :)

I would also like to add support for this, as when I invert bar color, mana bar turns dark and fills up, which is not as intuitive as when the health bar does this.. i find it weird to have rage be full red across the bar for empty bars..

FYI GridManaBars is broken with the latest alpha release of Grid, something to watch for. Still works fine with the beta release from 4/16

My gridmanabars worked fine on first load. Then I logged out and reloaded - the bar is now dark, not blue. Not sure what caused this as I made no adjustments to anything.

EDIT: Deleted my Grid.lua in savedvariables - started fresh and it was fine. No idea what happened, but whatever it was couldn't be fixed.

Found a problem in Grid's bug tracker. A fix would be nice, because i've the same problem^^:

Grid Health not resizing with mana bar.
The problem is the people health is extending below the mana bar(power ect.) when you have them enabled at the bottom of grid cells. Basically the issue arrises when someone drops to about 20% health they appear dead on grid, or very near death when in fact that isn't the case.

Tried GridManaBars today for the first time. Very nice addon for Grid.

The mana bars are black and progressively turn more blue as I use up my mana. Is there a way to invert this? So the bar is blue and turns black as its being used up?

I couldn't reproduce this problem. Do you have any other Grid addons enabled? Did you try disabling every addon except Grid and GridManaBars?

How does one go about showing only mana bars and omitting runic power/rage/energy bars? As a druid, mana restoration is the primary reason I'd be using this module.

I'm using the Curse Client, and the current "release" versions of Grid and GridManaBars do not seem to allow the Mana bar to show at all. Should I switch to "beta" or "alpha" versions?

Not sure why my setup wasn't working. All the options were showing up in the settings menu, but the mana bars just wouldn't show up. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Grid related add-ons didn't help. After upgrading both to alpha versions, it started working. Sorry I didn't have the patience for a more in-depth hunt for the source of the problem.

It does appear to be working with the newest versions of Grid (1270+). Somewhere between 1265 and 1270, it wasn't working. The same went for all of the other plugins. Some of those plugins were updated. The behavior as Nicarras described it a few posts down was accurate at the time.
