HandyNotes
Handy Notes for your maps. This addon is intended to be a small and simple framework for showing notes on your map.
Use /handynotes to access options.
You can add notes to the maps in 3 ways:
- Alt-RightClick on the world map to add a note.
- Use "/hnnew" without the quotes to add a note at your current location.
- Use "/hnnew x,y" without the quotes to add a note at location x,y on your current zone's map.
HandyNotes supports plugins that other authors can write to display their own set of notes on the map. See this link for a list of such addons: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/search?search=handynotes
Mine doesn't work either...can a mod please advise?
Could maybe an option be added to the map to toggle the notes? Or maybe create a command to toggle, something like /hntoggle or simple /hnt or use /hnshow/hide.
I agree with the need for a toggle. I find myself going into the menu to uncheck/check the enable box to hide the map icons so i can see more clearly the FP's and world quests that the icons are sometimes covering. Apart from this minor inconvenience, its a great addon, thanks for the effort you put in.
Handynotes v1.4.9 now works with the new version 7.0.3 of Carbonite. I've been using them both for over a week with no issues.
Is there anyway to submit new locations for artifact power items, I found one today that wasn't on the map in Val'sharah 74.0, 38.0
Any chance of anyone making a plugin for this that shows the class order hall NPC's please?
I'm a *huge* fan of your add-on! Thank you for creating and maintaining it! I also have a request for a an item to be tracked: Pepe locations in new Dalaran so you can find him wherever he might spawn! There's a location list in the comments under his achievement on wowhead, but I have no idea how to plug that into the add-on (without doing every spot individually), so I figured I'd just ask!
Thanks again for a great add-on!
Is there any way to remove a handynote that is *not* on the world map? The ones in the dreamgrove, when I placed them with /hnnew, do not appear where I placed them. I would like to remove them. Thanks.
To remove them, you would have to enter that zone again, open your map and right click the note to remove. Idk any other way of doing it.

Can we have filters or toggle buttons in World Map?
It is really cluttered with handy notes and world quests at the same time.
The addon has its own settings like most other addons.
<3 this addon but I have a major gripe with it - when I try to add a new note by Alt-RMBing on the world map, the dialog box appears *behind* the world map frame. I've tried setting the frame strata of the edit box to everything including TOOLTIP, no luck though. I use Mapster, but I get this behavior whether or not Mapster is loaded. Help plz! This is driving me nuts.
small treasure chest ny totum in riverbend is phased, can't loot till riverbend is destroyed
Could you add an option to change the size of User created notes without changing the other notes?
There is already a way. On HandyNotes options you go to plugins->handynotes, there you change the size of icon, that will change the default addon size, leaving the plugins as they are. :)
