IdiotCheck
Have you ever charged into a boss fight, only to discover you're an idiot and forgot something crucial?
This mod checks your character and gear before boss pulls to make sure nothing is wrong, and yells at you in various humorous ways if you're being an idiot. It goes into considerable depth and checks many things not checked by traditional raid-buffing addons.
You might be an idiot if you've ever gone into a boss fight...
- With a broken weapon
- Wearing a fishing pole, chef's hat, or teleport item
- With a dead pet
- Without an enchant or gem on that new item
- Missing talent points or glyphs
- Wearing items for the wrong spec
- With glyphs for the wrong spec
- With a flask for the wrong spec
- Without your class self-buffs
- Much, much more...
All checks can be individually enabled/disabled and configured. By default it checks your gear when you first target a boss or receive a ready check. The addon itself is very lightweight and fast, and never runs during combat.
IdiotCheck can also automatically scan inspection targets and group members for most failures. Note that checking via inspection/scanning is slightly less thorough than self-checks, due to limitations in the Blizzard inspection API. This feature is provided as a convenience, but for the most accurate results all raiders should install the addon (which also helps ensure costly failures are discovered outside of raid time!).
Installation and Usage:
- Install as usual
- Left-click the icon to run a self-check manually
- Middle-click the icon to scan your current group members within inspection range
- Right-click the icon on the minimap or LDB for settings (defaults are good for most purposes)
- Command-line options are also available via: /ic

Warning about content:
This addon is essentially a drill instructor for your raid play. It works by yelling at you when you screw up, so that other players don't have to. This addon includes occasional use of strong language, which is not intended for children or other people who are easily offended. Do not submit complaints, we're not going to change it for you. If you are easily offended do not download this addon. Better yet, quit wow and go play Hello Kitty Island Adventure.

I wish you would make it so it could check the entire raid to see if they are wearing their chef hats, fishing poles or easter baskets.... would be a great help and fun!
I second this motion, in fact it's the reason I'm consulting this addon page today: Did a recent update allow raid-wide retard checks? Cmon... cmon... :)
Our raid leader ran us through many failed attempts on 25-man heroic Zonozz last night and only discovered afterwards that he was wearing his Ape-in-a-Bubble trinket the whole time. Not that it decided the outcome of those attempts, but my RetardCheck should catch his goof. That would be awesome.
I do plan to eventually extend the addon to perform some limited checks on inspection targets; however due to the API limitations of inspect many current checks will not be possible because the information is simply not available about other players via inspect (eg you cannot see glyphs, bag contents, professions, etc). Also, I believe the addon is most effective when it can directly yell at the slacker - So raid leaders are best off requesting/requiring their raiders to install the addon for themselves.
I downloaded this the other day not realising what I was getting myself into, as soon as i heard it I laughed so hard I hope I never have to remove it from my add-on database.
This addon cracks me up - and keeps me from making stupid mistakes...
Thanks so much!
I was speaking of the Shield of ice, because I have an arcane mage and then the addon would not give me this alert. But I have manually by the option.
Thanks again for the addon:)
soon
To answer your other question, I do plan to eventually extend the addon to perform some checks on inspection targets; however due to the API limitations of inspect many current checks will not be possible because the information is simply not available about other players via inspect (eg you cannot see glyphs, bag contents, professions, etc). It seems my search continues.. This is still a great addon, however, hopefully more people will pick it up (:
see you soon and please excuse my English, I speak Spanish and Italian.
goodbye
The full song is here:
Yes, you can replace any of the sound files in the RetardCheck/sound directory with your own .mp3 files, just use the same names.
there's another thing: I noticed that there are warnings that corresponds to the class for some categories of EXAMPLE: the arcane mage constantly tells me to use a shield or barrier that is the only mage ice, so I removed that notice of the options, the same happens in Cavallier of death makes this option, but removing it can be remedied.
Thanks so much for this nice addon that always makes me smile :)
Arrivederci
But anyhow, the options are there for people who disagree and prefer to disable any given check.
Automatic checks are not performed in combat, because most gear issues can't be fixed once you're in combat lockdown.
Loving it.
