InspectEquip
InspectEquip attaches a panel to the inspect window that shows a list of the character's equipment sorted by source (i.e. Raid: Dragon Soul, Vendor, Crafted...). This gives you a quick overview of a character's equipment.
InspectEquip also adds detailed item source information (including boss names, item prices for vendor items etc) to all item tooltips.
Currently supported items include (no green items):
- All raid items with detailed boss information, including Mists of Pandaria raids
- Dungeon drops for all instances
- Quest rewards for dungeon/raid quests, including legendary items
- Justice/Valor Point items
- Honor/Conquest Point items
- Reputation items sold by faction vendors
- Crafted items
- Darkmoon Faire items, including the cards and the new rewards
- The Kirin Tor rings sold in Dalaran
- World Event items
- The Argent Tournament rewards
- Guild Vendor items
InspectEquip also works with Examiner and includes support for cached Examiner characters.

WoW 6.x/Warlords of Draenor support:
The latest version of this addon is compatible with WoW 6.0. Please note that the dungeon and raid drops are updated automatically via the Encounter Journal (i.e. they should be available immediately when a new WoW patch is released). Other data, such as vendor or crafted items, still require an addon update.
If you want a single number, I found an addon called GearScore, which seems to do what you want: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/nvgearscore.aspx
can you make a Gear Score, like wow-heroes and wowhead profiles, using the Item Level + enchants + Gems quality?
Yes, boss information for the 5 man instance will be added in the next release.
If I may, I'd like to request a feature for the next version. Would it be possible to prefix the name of gear piece with the item level? IE: Instead for saying "Belt of Blasting", or would say "[200] Belt of Blasting" instead?
Thank you for such a wonderful addon!
I haven't been in the TotC5 instance for a while, but as far as i remember the loot isnt assigned to chests&bosses but rather the whole instance. Wowhead at least as dropsource available, maybe you could check that again
I have checked various websites and comments, and have found all variations such as T9.0/T9.25/T9.5, T9.0/T9.5/T9.5+, T9.232/T9.245/T9.258, so I don't really know what to use. In the latest version they are now categorized as follows:
However, I'm not sure if the "Trophy of the Crusade" required for the ilvl 245 items only drops in the 25-man version. I suspect it also drops in the 10-man heroic version, but I couldn't find any confirmed information about that. But if that's the case naming the set "T9-25" would be misleading as well. Also, I just discovered that Blizzard apparently doesn't have a standard naming scheme even for the T7 sets. On the US site they are named "Tier Seven Raid - 10" and "Tier Seven Raid - 25", on the European site "Tier Seven Raid" and "Tier Seven Point Five Raid"... I guess it'll be interesting what they decide to call the new sets (once 3.3 is live ;)). I hope the current solution is ok for now, at least the sets are now differentiated by source.
Also when using an inspect addon that let's you select another person to quick examine such as examiner the inspectequip screen does not update. You have too close the inspect screen and reinspect the new person which is inconvenient.
Concerning the bug with Examiner, I can't reproduce that. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "quick examine", but when I click on another person with Examiner open, InspectEquip updates to show that persons gear. Are you using the latest version of Examiner and how do you select the other person?
and for alliance and horde different sets, you're right. i think it is more obvious to have "T9-10" (232), "T9-25" (245), "T9-25 (Heroic)" (258) than name the sets all the same. not everyone will notice the different itemlevels &stats :)
@yoshimo: That's right, they are not completely correctly classified. I will remove the ilvl 258 from the Emblem of Triumph category and add them as drops from the heroic 25-man version of the new raid. Maybe also the ilvl 245 sets, because they require a raid drop in addition to the emblems, but I'm not really happy with either classification. About the set names: I would have labelled them T9.0/T9.5, but now there are 3 sets :( Maybe something like "T9-10" (232), "T9-25" (245), "T9-25 (Heroic)" (258)?
It seems that all the tier 9 items are treated the same, no matter if they are 10man /25 man , normal or hero mode , regardless of the itemlevel I think you should add the ",5" and normal/hero-mode to the details

PS: maybe u could make an extra category for hardmode loots?
For Ulduar/Obsidian Sanctum there is currently no seperate hard mode category, because it's the same instance. However there is a "(hard mode)" remark in the tooltip.
For the new Trial of the Crusader raids loot is split into 4 groups (10, 10 heroic, 25, 25 heroic).
