InspectEquip

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

InspectEquip attaches a panel to the inspect window that shows a list of the character's equipment sorted by source (i.e. Raid: Dragon Soul, Vendor, Crafted...). This gives you a quick overview of a character's equipment.

InspectEquip also adds detailed item source information (including boss names, item prices for vendor items etc) to all item tooltips.

Currently supported items include (no green items):

All raid items with detailed boss information, including Mists of Pandaria raids
Dungeon drops for all instances
Quest rewards for dungeon/raid quests, including legendary items
Justice/Valor Point items
Honor/Conquest Point items
Reputation items sold by faction vendors
Crafted items
Darkmoon Faire items, including the cards and the new rewards
The Kirin Tor rings sold in Dalaran
World Event items
The Argent Tournament rewards
Guild Vendor items

InspectEquip also works with Examiner and includes support for cached Examiner characters.

WoW 6.x/Warlords of Draenor support:

The latest version of this addon is compatible with WoW 6.0. Please note that the dungeon and raid drops are updated automatically via the Encounter Journal (i.e. they should be available immediately when a new WoW patch is released). Other data, such as vendor or crafted items, still require an addon update.

t10 is also somewhere on that page

i cant see the new ashen verdict (icc.faction like in bt) yet, but its loot should be available as well

Great addon! Waiting for the next versions. A suggestion: include an option to toggle InspectEquip window on/off (not just disable it)

I can add a button to toggle the InspectEquip panel, but I don't know where... :( There are many addons (e.g. Outfitter, even the Blizzard equipment manager etc) that already add buttons somewhere in the character/inspect window and I don't want to interfere with those. Where would you like to have a toggle button?

if it's not possible to add it /in/ the inspectequip window, how about a /command list where we can toggle window, sort, etc? but it seems to me (knowing nothing about writing addons) that a toggle that just minimizes the window to only being the toggle button could be in the upper left corner of inspectequip window, and remain attached to char page when minimized... if that works it would prolly also be a good spot for a drop down menu with multiple options...

I would like to suggest that you group together gear bought with emblems. It's not a problem or anything, but it might be more readable. It doesn't make sense to me to have separate categories for each type.

I think you should distinguish: normal crafted items, those with ulduar materials, and the ones from trial of the crusader.

Also distinguish onyxia loot before and after 3.2.2 and maybe , im not sure if you did already, label t3

I use chatter and links, as well as WIM. No hover over enabled

If I click a link from trade, guild, whisper, etc, it never shows any added tooltip data.

However, I forgot that I was using Links, so I'll gib it and see if it works.

some good and simple addition to this excellent addon would be to calculate the average item level of all the items, so by just looking one number you can see how good is the player's gear. gief plx!

@Kelem: It should add source information to tooltips on itemlinks too. Can you give me some more information about where it doesn't work? I just pasted an itemlink from AtlasLoot into guild chat and /w, and InspectEquip adds drop information to both tooltips. Could be a conflict with another addon. Are you using any chat addons or addons that auto-show tooltips on hover etc? I've tested it with Prat 3.0 and WIM and I'd love to make it compatible with other addons if that's the cause of the problem.

Is it just me or does this not show tooltips on itemlinks?

No tooltip is shown at all unless the item is in a place it can be viewed (bag, vendor, auction, etc) but never on any kind of link

Furious Gladiator's Pendant of Sundering shows up as unknown, rather than under season six.
