InspectEquip

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

InspectEquip attaches a panel to the inspect window that shows a list of the character's equipment sorted by source (i.e. Raid: Dragon Soul, Vendor, Crafted...). This gives you a quick overview of a character's equipment.

InspectEquip also adds detailed item source information (including boss names, item prices for vendor items etc) to all item tooltips.

Currently supported items include (no green items):

All raid items with detailed boss information, including Mists of Pandaria raids
Dungeon drops for all instances
Quest rewards for dungeon/raid quests, including legendary items
Justice/Valor Point items
Honor/Conquest Point items
Reputation items sold by faction vendors
Crafted items
Darkmoon Faire items, including the cards and the new rewards
The Kirin Tor rings sold in Dalaran
World Event items
The Argent Tournament rewards
Guild Vendor items

InspectEquip also works with Examiner and includes support for cached Examiner characters.

WoW 6.x/Warlords of Draenor support:

The latest version of this addon is compatible with WoW 6.0. Please note that the dungeon and raid drops are updated automatically via the Encounter Journal (i.e. they should be available immediately when a new WoW patch is released). Other data, such as vendor or crafted items, still require an addon update.

Thanks for the report! This problem occurs because gem information is sometimes not immediately available when inspecting (if you inspect the same player again, it should work). I'll add a fix for this in 1.5.0 or 1.5.1.

Ich habe jetzt in InspectEquip 1.4.0-beta1 eine Option eingebaut, um die Equip-Liste auch beim eigenen Charakterfenster anzuzeigen (ist standardmäßig auch aktiviert).

As of InspectEquip 1.4.0-beta1, there is now an option to also attach the equip list to your character frame. This is enabled by default.

Spricht hier wer deutsch? Mich würde es interessieren, ob man so ein Addon auch bauen kann, um sein eigenes Equip so zu betrachten. Genau so ein Fenster für sein eigenes Equip.

Das ist auf jeden Fall möglich. Ich habe im Moment etwas wenig Zeit, werde mir das aber für die nächste Version merken.
In der Zwischenzeit könntest du dir ein Makro mit folgendem Inhalt anlegen:

/script InspectUnit("player")

Das sollte ein Inspect-Fenster von dir selbst anzeigen, inkl. InspectEquip-Fenster.

An "unenchanted items" warning would be nice. Currently i use it together with examiner to check if raid members wear crappy items but i still have to check for enchants manually - especially in a 25 man raid that's annoying.

That's an interesting idea. However I'm not sure if just checking if all items are enchanted is enough - for example, a caster with a +2 defense enchant might have all items enchanted, but the enchants are useless. If you really want to check their gear I suggest using something like be.imba.hu (where you can also check a whole group/guild) or WoW Heroes.
I will probably add an option to check for missing enchants in a future version though :)

I have added an unenchanted items check in InspectEquip 1.4.0-beta1. It appends a red * to unenchanted items in the item list and displays a warning in the tooltip of that item. I hope this helps you.

While the Wyrmrest Necklace of Power does not directly drop in The Eye Of Eternity, the quest item you need to turn in that quest drops there, so I think it's not totally wrong. Maybe I can add "Quest reward" instead of a boss name or something like that.
Signet of Kirin Tor is currently missing because I don't know how to categorize it. Maybe a new "Vendor" category?

It is showing Wyrmrest Necklace of Power as The Eye Of Eternity, it is from the heroic key guest. Also Signet of Kirin Tor is showing Unknown.

The most recent stable version can always be found on Curse and WoWInterface, so you can use the Curse Client or the upcoming WoWInterface updater to keep it updated. I currently have no plans to add it to WoWMatrix, sorry. Maybe in the future.

Hi Parnic,

Can you please get in touch with WoWMatrix so as to enable their client to work with your add-on?

I like your add-on a lot. However, my aim playing WoW isn't about spending hours downloading add-ons, but hours playing it.

Thus - unless it can be included in my regular WoWmatrix update run, I will stop using it and encourage everyone doing same.

Downloaded this the other day and surprised by how much I like it. I used it long enough to kinda rely off memory what drops from what but having the entire pane open up is pretty nice.
