ItemSync
--- A ItemSync update for wow client 4.1.0 is coming the next days! Please be patience! ---
What is ItemSync? ItemSync is an item collection and manipulation mod. ItemSync will gather items from many different sources. Many features are available to you such as a search feature for items that were gathered and even a favorites window to keep track of items you really would like to have. ItemSync also comes bundled with several other useful tools that will be described below.
ItemSync will always maintain an updated list of items and names. Its all automatic and you dont have to do a thing. Just let ItemSync work its magic.
What features do I get with ItemSync? There are tons of features are your disposal! ItemSync comes complete with the following abilities: -Filtering -Search -QuickBag (a portable inventory bag with easy to read item prices) -Favorites (a window to keep track of all those favorite items youve wanted) -ItemID (a window to allow you to manually input item ids for items you havent seen) -Optimizer (a feature that allows you to always keep a clean and efficient database.) -Validater (a feature that allows you to validate those invalid items in your database) -And so much more!!!!
ItemSync will gather items from almost every possible location. This includes locations such as the Auction House, Bank, Inventory, Inspect Window, Chat Window, and more.
ItemSync also stores the prices of items when you visit a Vendor. Not to mention it even grabs the items that the Vendor has to sell!!!
Favorites Window: A neat ability that is available to you when you use ItemSync. It allows you to store those items you come across and have always wanted. The Favorites window makes it easy for you to remember items. No more writing down items and then forgetting what they were called or what stats they had.
QuickBags: QuickBags is a portable inventory bag, which displays prices of items in a simple to read format. No more having to hover items in your bags to view what each item is worth. Selling items to a vendor has never been easier!
Search Window: ItemSync comes with a very power search capability. You can search by items by location, rarity, level, and even resistance.
ItemID: ItemID is a very nifty tool which allows you to manually input items by their item id to your database. This is a great way to add items you havent come across yet. Filtering: ItemSync can store items based upon your filtering settings. Want ItemSync to only collect blue items and above? Its easy with the Filter window. You can even purge the database by a specific rarity.
Fetch Links: Fetch Links is a very handy feature in ItemSync that allows you to quickly and easily add items to chat by using partial names. For example typing [*ore*] in the chat window would replace it with the actual link for [Copper Ore]. Fetch Links is a very powerful tool and has many applications.
Can I see prices of items in the tooltips?
YES! ItemSync has the ability to display both the Vendor Price and the Sell Price for an item within the tooltip. You can select which features you wish to view within the Options window.
Do I ever get disconnected linking an item? You shouldnt ever disconnect while linking an item from ItemSync. ItemSync has been programmed to prevent any such actions from occurring. If however in the event you do disconnect then you should take caution when linking that item in the future. The creator of ItemSync takes no responsibility for any disconnections that may occur while using ItemSync.
Can I see the items across servers? Yes, this option is available to you. It isnt recommended as item ids are different across servers. This means you will always have a constant list of invalid items if you merge them across servers. By default ItemSync separates item collection by server.
Can I convert my data from LootLink/KC_Items/ItemsMatrix?
NO! I repeat NO! This ability has been removed from any future version of ItemSync. This is just to time consuming. If other folks wish to make converters then they are allowed to. I will post links to them as they become available.
If you guys and gals could be so gracious as to spread your views and acknowledgement and acceptance of ItemSync to your friends and family. I would be truely in all your debts.
Also your votes would be truely kind and will repay me for all the work i've put into this mod.
Sincerely Yours, Derkyle
I haven't yet been able to get on to the test server and try out some of the item spoofing methods, but since the server has a list of every possible item in the game it would make sense that it would be able to tell if an item is spoofed or not.
There are some fairly basic rules that can be used to cull out a huge majority of the spoofed links out there, which is what ItemSync now does, but it won't catch all of them. There are a couple of rogue items out there that make a more complete spoof checker impossible (like some times that have a +12, +20, and +58 attack power versions, and they're all real). I'm thinking that once 1.10 comes out the only way to truely be sure that every item in your database is real is to start your database from scratch.
Thanks for supporting the anti-item spoof cause :D
Though blizzard has made it known that they will *attempt* to do the same, atleast we will be safe until their patch comes out. (And who knows if their attempts will even be successful... they cant even fix the falling off of boats/zepplins bugs).
With all it's problems, it's still ages more efficient than LootLink, can do cooler tricks, and not as barebone as KC_Items. *two thumbs up*
@Iruwen: your welcome ;)
Wow, that was fast.
I added a few fixes to some bugs folks were having.
@Floater: Let the author know your intrested in his mod being compatible with ItemSync. I'm sure he will make it work. I don't personally want to add this feature because it caused major lag spikes on my friends computer. It didn't really cause that much lag on mine but you never know. Honestly I don't see how this feature would be useful? You can press ctrl+tab to select different units. Just hold ctrl and keep pressing tab. I will however per your request review the code once again. However, there may be a possibility that I don't implement this feature.
(BTW: Kandoko posted on the mods comments a way to make it work with ItemSync. I'm going to just repaste what he said.
Sry to see this mod discontinued :( but for those of us useing Itemsync open the ninjainspect toc and remove the lootlink dependancy. Then open ninjainspect.lua and edit LootLink_Inspect("mouseover"); to ISync:InspectTarget("mouseover");
Now this works for me on IS10.6 but dont blame me if it screws something up Lua is not my forte :P
Again piranther thanks for this very usefull function)
You should add Ninja-Inspector to ItemSync. Idea from http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=3333

/e: Optimize hangs with the same error, I didn't start both at the same time.
Really nice work.. good job
One thing though - there are several items in my itemsync that are invalid, and linking them *will* disconnect me, however I can find no way to manually delete these, and the invalid cleaner just says "There were no items to process"
Some of these items include "Vessel of Rebirth" and "Splinter of Nordrassil"
Folks version 11 is a major update. Please take the time to read the patch notes.
I have updated the screenshots so please take a loot at them!!
Version 11: -Updated Screenshots above! =D -BE WARNED: Any item using the ItemID tool will come out in whatever language the WOW Client is. (NO EXCEPTIONS) -A few changes were made to the database to prevent doubling. -Added a spoof check. It should clean your spoof items automatically when you upgrade to 10.7. If it doesn't then use the CLEAN DATABASE option under the -clean- tab in the options panel. -Changed the itemid's so that they don't have the fourth value in the itemid string. -Added a quick search feature on the main view screen. -Changed the primary buttons to outside buttons. -Changed the way many menus and options worked. -Updated the german localization. Special thanks to (Mosef). -Set the minimap option to be off by default. -Items should now be saved accordingly to the servers name rather then the clients name given by getiteminfo(). This basically means if you use a client on a different server with a different language. It should use the items names from the server rather then the clients. -Changed several routines for displaying certain frames in ItemSync. -Removed some useless functions to improve efficiency. -You can now add links to the chatbox by simply left clicking on them. So long as the typing field is showing. (This means the editbox that shows up in the chatbox. The one you get when your starting to type something. So long as this is visible you can left click an item in ItemSync, and it will add it to your chatbox.) -Added the ability to store items with the same name. (Like the Royal Seals and Insignia's) -Items with multiple items with the same name now will show up with a sub category arrow next to their names. -Enhanced the invalid routine to be a bit more percise. -Added an ability to remove any subitems. -Fixed a bug with the itemid tool sometimes not adding the item.
@Iriel: Thank you so much for being honest. That was absolutely helpful! I didn't know there were issues with translations and such on the german side. I've actually made an effort to edit ItemSync to help your case. I'm currently testing out and it seems to be working alright. I still need to tweak it some but overall it should be fine. I will look into that putting an option to turn off the chat. Once again thanks for being very responsive.
@Oriban: What exactly is the error you get? I don't use titan because it makes me feel like I'm boxed in my screen when I play. So I don't know if some of its mods would work.
@Kandoko: Cool! Thanks a bunch for donating that to the community. That was very kind of you =D.
@felinmorph: I'm going to review the ninjalooter code but from what I've gathered people have actually been having lag with this mod. I don't know if adding it to ItemSync would be very wise.
Derkyle, i dont wonder why i'm gettin repetative stuff. I knew the reason. But i just wanted to tell you. Isn't there a way to stop Itemsync watching the chat for items?
"Why are you playing on a german server with an english client?" Many Addons don't work very well with the german client. And many of the localization-attempts of blizzard just suck.
Thx for a great mod.
However it is not compatible with TitanQuest http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=1231
When mousing over the quest rewards in TitanQuest i always get error messages from ItemSync.
For those of us useing Itemsync open the ninjainspect toc and remove the lootlink dependancy. Then open ninjainspect.lua and edit LootLink_Inspect("mouseover"); to ISync:InspectTarget("mouseover");
Of course only install the ninjainspect folder delete the lootlink folder in the download Now this works for me on IS10.6 but dont blame me if it screws something up Lua is not my forte :P
there exist an addon for lootlink wich is called NinjaInspector. it automaticly inspect every person you mouse-over to add the items to your database - could you implement such a function into this mod? (enable-/disable-abel)
I have a few duplicate items in Itemsync. One I can remember off hand is Anethema or however you spell it. When I mouse over it one of them has the auctioneer tooltip and one doesn't... That's the only difference I can see. Maybe checking the file will provide more insight... I'll check there and update if I can find anything.
~~Thx for the great addon~~
O ya. Forgot to say that the purge duplicate items option doesn't remove these. But I guess that that is kind of obvious since I'm posting about it...
Ok, I figured out what it is doing... All those "lovely" spoofed links are being displayed using the actual name but still as another item. Well hope you can do something to it. THX
i would really like to see a feature like Auctioneer where u can make multiple auctions of the same items with only one click.
Why are you playing on a german server with an english client? Then you wonder why your getting repetative stuff. Your client is english therefore it translates itemid's to english. However items that are linked by other players come out as german. Thus you get both english and german stuff added to your database. Now if you were using the german client you wouldn't have this problem.
I've got the problem that many of the items are twice in the database. I am playing on a german server with an english client. sulfurus for example is displayed twice. and purging doubled items has no effect on it. in the ItemSync.lua are two different entries. first in line 97 ["Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros"] = "
Why do many of my items become invalid after a patch: Basically, blizzard has put a foot down on item farming or parsing and has made it clear that only items users have seen can be stored or linked. This means that -UNTIL- the server has SEEN the item either in someones inventory or they are wearing it, it will remain invalid. Once someone on the server whom has the actual items logs in it then becomes valid for all the people whom use LootLink and ItemSync. There is no way around this and KC_Items/LootLink/ItemSync suffer the same problem.
So lets recap: You had 16,000 items in ItemSync but 5,000 of them became invalid. Those 5,000 are marked as invalid because the server hasn't seen them yet. Once someone whom actually has the item logs in then everyone whom has it on KC_Items/LootLink/ItemSync will get it marked as valid next time they login.
Folks! Please be patient! It takes about 3 or 4 days after a patch to get all your items back. Yes you can try to forcefully get them from the server and yes you can try to do my invalid check. However, the majority of the time you will disconnect and NOT ALL of your items will become valid no matter what you do. This is of course until the server has actually seen the item.
Please stop PM'ing me about those or sending me emails. This question has been asked so many times and yet no one takes the time to read. This is a problem that plagues ANY item collection program. Unforantely it's the way it is and you have to just use what you got.
