ItemSync
--- A ItemSync update for wow client 4.1.0 is coming the next days! Please be patience! ---
What is ItemSync? ItemSync is an item collection and manipulation mod. ItemSync will gather items from many different sources. Many features are available to you such as a search feature for items that were gathered and even a favorites window to keep track of items you really would like to have. ItemSync also comes bundled with several other useful tools that will be described below.
ItemSync will always maintain an updated list of items and names. Its all automatic and you dont have to do a thing. Just let ItemSync work its magic.
What features do I get with ItemSync? There are tons of features are your disposal! ItemSync comes complete with the following abilities: -Filtering -Search -QuickBag (a portable inventory bag with easy to read item prices) -Favorites (a window to keep track of all those favorite items youve wanted) -ItemID (a window to allow you to manually input item ids for items you havent seen) -Optimizer (a feature that allows you to always keep a clean and efficient database.) -Validater (a feature that allows you to validate those invalid items in your database) -And so much more!!!!
ItemSync will gather items from almost every possible location. This includes locations such as the Auction House, Bank, Inventory, Inspect Window, Chat Window, and more.
ItemSync also stores the prices of items when you visit a Vendor. Not to mention it even grabs the items that the Vendor has to sell!!!
Favorites Window: A neat ability that is available to you when you use ItemSync. It allows you to store those items you come across and have always wanted. The Favorites window makes it easy for you to remember items. No more writing down items and then forgetting what they were called or what stats they had.
QuickBags: QuickBags is a portable inventory bag, which displays prices of items in a simple to read format. No more having to hover items in your bags to view what each item is worth. Selling items to a vendor has never been easier!
Search Window: ItemSync comes with a very power search capability. You can search by items by location, rarity, level, and even resistance.
ItemID: ItemID is a very nifty tool which allows you to manually input items by their item id to your database. This is a great way to add items you havent come across yet. Filtering: ItemSync can store items based upon your filtering settings. Want ItemSync to only collect blue items and above? Its easy with the Filter window. You can even purge the database by a specific rarity.
Fetch Links: Fetch Links is a very handy feature in ItemSync that allows you to quickly and easily add items to chat by using partial names. For example typing [*ore*] in the chat window would replace it with the actual link for [Copper Ore]. Fetch Links is a very powerful tool and has many applications.
Can I see prices of items in the tooltips?
YES! ItemSync has the ability to display both the Vendor Price and the Sell Price for an item within the tooltip. You can select which features you wish to view within the Options window.
Do I ever get disconnected linking an item? You shouldnt ever disconnect while linking an item from ItemSync. ItemSync has been programmed to prevent any such actions from occurring. If however in the event you do disconnect then you should take caution when linking that item in the future. The creator of ItemSync takes no responsibility for any disconnections that may occur while using ItemSync.
Can I see the items across servers? Yes, this option is available to you. It isnt recommended as item ids are different across servers. This means you will always have a constant list of invalid items if you merge them across servers. By default ItemSync separates item collection by server.
Can I convert my data from LootLink/KC_Items/ItemsMatrix?
NO! I repeat NO! This ability has been removed from any future version of ItemSync. This is just to time consuming. If other folks wish to make converters then they are allowed to. I will post links to them as they become available.
If you guys and gals could be so gracious as to spread your views and acknowledgement and acceptance of ItemSync to your friends and family. I would be truely in all your debts.
Also your votes would be truely kind and will repay me for all the work i've put into this mod.
Sincerely Yours, Derkyle
I think the cost/benefit ratio on that is pretty low... I mean, when I search for items I usually generally know what I'm looking for. For example, if I wanted the link for Ashkandi, I type "Ashkandi". I'm not thinking, "What's that sword with all the attack power?" and type "Attack Power". I guess you could be thinking, "What could I be using to twink out my character?" and search for "agility" then or some such, but there's always thottbot for that.
One feature which LootLink has and ItemSync still does not have is the ability to search the full item description.
For example, in LootLink I can limit the search to something like rings and then search for the word "agility". I will get items like "Blabla ring of agility" but I will also get "Ocean's Breeze" because it has the word "agility" as a stat description. In ItemSync, however, "Ocean's Breeze" would not be listed if I searched for rings with agility because the word "agility" is not in the name of the item. Any time you use ItemSync to search for any type of stat (agility, fire resistance, defense, attack power, etc) you are only getting a partial list of the items in your database which actually have those stats.
Because of this,ItemSync is really handicapped in my opinion. This feature is why I still use LootLink. I realize adding such functionality would be a bit difficult and would greatly enlarge the size of the files storing item data, but I think it would be well worth it.
I posted about this once before but got no response.
Well so far I love the addon, it seems much better than lootlink. I have an odd sort of issue with it though. Whenever I use the addon I get a lot of lag whenever I use special abilities. Basically whenever I deal damage the game locks up for a half second or so. It seems strange that an item database mod would effect combat lag at all, but it does. I've tried turning just this mod off and the lag is gone; when I enable Itemsync, there's the lag again.
I wonder if the mod could be interacting poorly with some other mod I have installed? I'm also using ct_mod, ace, timex, itemrack, damagemeters, KLHThreatMeter and trackerassist.
Edit: it looks like Sohjiro has a similar problem, he posted a couple pages back.
Most of the items have been recovered to Valid from the usual confusion after a patch, and I've been alt-hopping in the few hours I have free today before an evening class manually restoring the few hundred items that aren't yet validated. I tried using the little delete button next to a few items I know I can't validate, but I get the error I pasted at the bottom and the item stays in the invalid list.
Count: 1 Error: Interface\AddOns\ItemSync\gui\ISync_MainFrame.lua:1195: attempt to concatenate global `ISYNC_SAVEDELETE_ITEM' (a nil value)
Do you use Auctioneer? I remember hearing that there are some known conflicts with that mod, but I might be wrong. At any rate, post-1.10 my Bid/Buyout buttons work fine and ItemSync is still enabled. The only thing I've seen errors with are the same things ItemSync had errors with before the patch.
Im having some problems whit Itemsync.. whenever i have it enabled i loose my Bid and Buyout buttons on AH when i disable the mod i get them again... any fix on this ? ( patch 1.10 )
Nice mod. Very. Is there any chance to update/add "selling price to vendor" on all items (about 15k) in database? Or is there any external database that can be merged into somehow?
Thanx
I have had numerous problems with the search function. It doesn't work half the time, if I search for something it usually works the first time. If I immediately change the search criteria, it won't work until I reload ui if then.
Today I searched for cloaks, worked fine. I cleared search box and searched for sword. Never did get it to work until I logged off and back on.
I still get some disconnects if i want to link some items gathered on another server.... if i start optimizing the database it crashes @ 50%
Hi Great Mod :) I am about to format my system. What files do I need to backup to keep all my data. Thanks in advance
I've noticed that some items will cause me to disconnect if I try to link them or preview them in the dressing room. One such item did this to me yesterday, "Cloak of Concentrated Hatred", when I tried to link it in raid chat.
Not too long after, I told ItemSync to display invalid items. Upon hovering my mouse over one of the items, I got disconnected.
I've also noticed that items linked in chat don't always get added to the database. I had someone link me the Blessed Qaraji Pugio so it would get added to my database, but it never did. I've foudn the only way to ensure items get added is to relink them from chat to myself in a tell.
Repair cost for me seems to be stuck at the price of the first item I repaired after installing the mod, that being 3 copper. Not really a problem because I don't care about how much my stuff costs to repair, and if I really did I could tell from my TitanBar, but still a minor nusance.
im not sure if this has been mentioned or not yet, but some itemsync seems to have a problem when two different items have the same name. i've only found this with the hakkari warblades set:
hakkari warblade itemid=19865 mainhand sword hakkari warblade itemid=19866 offhand sword
itemsync only seems to store the item found first, i assume that itemsync stores its items by item name rather than itemid (i dont really know how the mod works under the hood, so this is just a guess). im also not sure if this affects more items with the same name (i cant think of any except perhaps the windseeker bindings at the minute).
update: this only seems to happen when you add the item via its itemid. after purging my database and linking the items i had added previously in chat, both items showed up in the database.
Interface\AddOns\ItemSync.lua:1528:attempt to index global 'ISync_MoneyTooltip' (a nil value)
This happens everytime a tooltip appears, whether it be from an item, player, spellbutton, buff, or object like "campfire." I had a similar problem a long time ago using LootLink, but I just turned off all LootLink tooltips. I did the same with ItemSync to no effect. Please help; I would love to use this loot addon, since the search function actually works.
Great job..and keep the updates coming! =)
One request I would like would be the ability to have people type a command and it able to link the item to them. I happen across lootlink and someone had devised a mod for his but doesn't work for Itemsync.
Any chance you could make something like this as a feature of Itemsync?
Here is the link to the lootlinkbot i found http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=2781
Thanks a ton!
First off, I love how ItemSync displays the item's icon next to its name. Definately a good feature, but there is a bug.
Let's say I Ctrl+click an item to see what it looks like on my character. The dressing room window pops up, and all is as it should be. Then I click on the link for another item, and the data pops up as it should. However, the item's icon is that of the item I ctrl+clicked to view in dressing room rather than that of the item it should be representing. The icon will remain the same as the first thing I asked to view in dressing room until I close the dressing room window.
Today i update my Itemsync 10.4 to the newest Version 11.3. I play on a German server with the english ELP. With the old IS version i have only Items with the english name in the database, but now there many Items with the german name. Can i fix this?
Try actually reading the addon description?
EDIT: Invalid. Im a dumbass for not reading XD
