ItemSync
--- A ItemSync update for wow client 4.1.0 is coming the next days! Please be patience! ---
What is ItemSync? ItemSync is an item collection and manipulation mod. ItemSync will gather items from many different sources. Many features are available to you such as a search feature for items that were gathered and even a favorites window to keep track of items you really would like to have. ItemSync also comes bundled with several other useful tools that will be described below.
ItemSync will always maintain an updated list of items and names. Its all automatic and you dont have to do a thing. Just let ItemSync work its magic.
What features do I get with ItemSync? There are tons of features are your disposal! ItemSync comes complete with the following abilities: -Filtering -Search -QuickBag (a portable inventory bag with easy to read item prices) -Favorites (a window to keep track of all those favorite items youve wanted) -ItemID (a window to allow you to manually input item ids for items you havent seen) -Optimizer (a feature that allows you to always keep a clean and efficient database.) -Validater (a feature that allows you to validate those invalid items in your database) -And so much more!!!!
ItemSync will gather items from almost every possible location. This includes locations such as the Auction House, Bank, Inventory, Inspect Window, Chat Window, and more.
ItemSync also stores the prices of items when you visit a Vendor. Not to mention it even grabs the items that the Vendor has to sell!!!
Favorites Window: A neat ability that is available to you when you use ItemSync. It allows you to store those items you come across and have always wanted. The Favorites window makes it easy for you to remember items. No more writing down items and then forgetting what they were called or what stats they had.
QuickBags: QuickBags is a portable inventory bag, which displays prices of items in a simple to read format. No more having to hover items in your bags to view what each item is worth. Selling items to a vendor has never been easier!
Search Window: ItemSync comes with a very power search capability. You can search by items by location, rarity, level, and even resistance.
ItemID: ItemID is a very nifty tool which allows you to manually input items by their item id to your database. This is a great way to add items you havent come across yet. Filtering: ItemSync can store items based upon your filtering settings. Want ItemSync to only collect blue items and above? Its easy with the Filter window. You can even purge the database by a specific rarity.
Fetch Links: Fetch Links is a very handy feature in ItemSync that allows you to quickly and easily add items to chat by using partial names. For example typing [*ore*] in the chat window would replace it with the actual link for [Copper Ore]. Fetch Links is a very powerful tool and has many applications.
Can I see prices of items in the tooltips?
YES! ItemSync has the ability to display both the Vendor Price and the Sell Price for an item within the tooltip. You can select which features you wish to view within the Options window.
Do I ever get disconnected linking an item? You shouldnt ever disconnect while linking an item from ItemSync. ItemSync has been programmed to prevent any such actions from occurring. If however in the event you do disconnect then you should take caution when linking that item in the future. The creator of ItemSync takes no responsibility for any disconnections that may occur while using ItemSync.
Can I see the items across servers? Yes, this option is available to you. It isnt recommended as item ids are different across servers. This means you will always have a constant list of invalid items if you merge them across servers. By default ItemSync separates item collection by server.
Can I convert my data from LootLink/KC_Items/ItemsMatrix?
NO! I repeat NO! This ability has been removed from any future version of ItemSync. This is just to time consuming. If other folks wish to make converters then they are allowed to. I will post links to them as they become available.
If you guys and gals could be so gracious as to spread your views and acknowledgement and acceptance of ItemSync to your friends and family. I would be truely in all your debts.
Also your votes would be truely kind and will repay me for all the work i've put into this mod.
Sincerely Yours, Derkyle
Recently installed ItemSync this morning after using KC_Items and BagView is displaying nothing? Am I doing something wrong?
P.S I use Baganon if this may cause issues
I got the same error too, and it ate my database (again)... LOL!
I need to stop posting before I try and fix the problem. Running that script bit you posted apparently fixed the problem, because there was no error on reload and my 9k items were back. Unfortunately, the suffixes are still missing, so I have numerous repeated items that had " of the " modifiers after them. Hmm.
It should create that variable. If it doesn't then something is seriously wrong on your end.
do this in the chat to fix it for now I suppose.
/script if(not ISyncOpt) then ISyncOpt = { }; end if( not ISyncOpt.ItemCount_Valid) then ISyncOpt.ItemCount_Valid = 0; end
just copy and paste that into the chat box and then type this
/console reloadui
that should fix your problem
As soon as I started WoW up with ItemSync v9 I got the following error:
Interface\AddOns\ItemSync\ItemSync.lua:1343: attempt to perform arithmetic on field 'ItemCount_Valid' (a nil value)
It's still bugged, but it's TipBuddy's fault. Disabled TipBuddy and coindisplay worked like a charm. Enabling TipBuddy made the coindisplay to act weird again.
Nevermind! Was being a ditz and updating from 8 to 8.1 by unzipping the 8 zip file... LOL!
How can I add items to the database manually? Both, /script GameTooltip:SetHyperlink("item:XXXXX"); and /script SetItemRef("item:XXXXX"); don't work. :( (First one worked with KC_Items for example.)
Good job Derkyle! I really like your presentation of this mod, help menus, clean interface, you put quality time into it and it shows! Thanks :-)
Is this cappable of searching AH for items like Lootlink , I would prefer not have to scan with LL just to parse into Itemsync cause search doesnt work on LL currently. Hoping this option is avilable :)
This is not a bug. This is how Blizzard have made it. You're trying to link an item which has not been seen by the server since the last push. And then you get disconnected. In the future. Do not link stuff from other servers.
what are all the commnads for this? i tried /is scan to scan the AH like what LL dose but that didn't work. aside from that command (if that isnt in please put it in) please list the commands you can do, i might find some usefull ones i never though of
also, i keep hearing this thing about invalid items, and u gave a discription a page ago. but that dosent make sence. how dose making an item ID change prevent farming? why would the ID thing change anything for this program? why do they want farmign stopped anyways? <insert oher question of the same idea here>?
I think the best search feature to add to ItemSync is the ability to search any of the text for an item.
Exampe parameters: Text: Fire Location: Finger Returns: "Topaz Ring of Fire Resistance" and "Ocean's Breeze" etc.
This way, you can search for an items abilities without that ability being in the name. If you search for a ring with fire resistance, you'll find the Ocean's Breeze because it has fire resistance, even though fire is not in the name.
Lootlink has this feature now, but Lootlink 1.9 is broken. It doesn't look it on the surface, but it is. Go to http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=130#comment and read my comment and you'll understand how Lootlink is broken.
Last night i wanted to post [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker]. But when I pressed the ENTER key to finally post it into the /g chat my game crashes. Remove that "bug" please.
Hoshyman
Pretty easy question. Why should I use this over LootLink? It seems they do the same things pretty much so what kind of sales pitch can you throw at me to leave LL
A couple of things I'm encountering: It doesn't seem to load item data for people I see until I manually select them.
Also, It won't allow items with the same name but different stats. For example, the Royal Seal of Eldre'thalas. It only saves the warrior trinket in my database, and ignores all the others.
Great mod though. I'm very impressed. Keep up the good work.
Is it possible to use the data gathered by one caracter with a different character (same account - different server)?
Thanks for the answer in advance
Seb
Thx for your answer :)
Could you also please answer my first question about the modular structure?
Thx Beutju
is there now way arroud, to fix the auctioneer tooltip information doubled bug (only in the /itemsync frame)?
The entire mod is pretty much wrapped around the GetItemInfo function. It uses it to sort out the invalids from the valids. ItemSync makes sure that you never do anything that would cause you to disconnect. Keep in mind that ItemSync does check the invalid links often to see if valid links can be generated from them.
Hi, I've got a few questions. Is it possible to make your addon more modular? What I mean is, that for example I don't need item prizes in the tooltip or the purge function all the time and because of this all those features should only be loaded when they are needed and after that unload. This would decrease the needed memory. (I've seen that when ItemSync is enabled the maximum addon memory will be increased by 1MB (then I have 14.163MB) - with LootLink or KC_Items I only have 13.113MB)
And a second thing; In Telo's LootLink there is the following new feature: /// - The main feature of this release is a significant rework to avoid disconnects while browsing or searching your local database. Note that you will still be disconnected if you send a chat link to an item that hasn't been seen on the server since it was last restarted. - LootLink now uses the new GetItemInfo client function to determine whether it's safe to ask for a tooltip for an item. If it's not guaranteed to be safe, LootLink constructs a tooltip for the item from its own cached data. ///
Does your addon also have something like "GetItemInfo client function to determine whether it's safe to ask for a tooltip for an item"? When not, would it be possible to include this?
Thanks for reading my post :) Beutju
