i can't make this addon work no matter what, not even the icon at the minimap appears, it's like i never installed it at all!! i install and reinstall and nothing changes..
Could you please relase the source? Obviously you don't have the time to develop it, and let's admit it - as of now, the addon is barely of any use, as significant amount of people play with their sounds muted, and of course the 'Play sound when muted' option is BS that will not work. And having to keep checking it again and again kinda defeats the reason of existence of this addon as that can be done in the default UI.
1) The source is available via the "Project Site" link up top
2) I don't have a lot of time, sure, but there's also not much that's been requested. I have been meaning to look into the center-screen message thing, but whatever.
3) 'Play sound when muted' doesn't work? Why hasn't anybody filed a ticket on that? I personally don't mute my sounds so I wouldn't know, I'm just using the documented API that's supposed to ignore muting.
Ok I just tested and "Play sound when muted" definitely works. Are you sure you're muting the sound, and not simply dropping the Master volume to 0%? "Play sound when muted" only comes into play if you press Ctrl-S and see "Sound Effects Disabled".
It's something I'm interested in doing, I just haven't had any time to work on any addons lately. But as soon as I have some time again, this is at the top of my list.
awesome, oh ya and a toggle for which dungeons will alert you along with class, personally i don't wanna have to do cata heroics only twilight because the tanks blow in heroics =)
Worked for me well , great addon. But for some reason about 1 week now there's no sound playing when an LFG call to arms pops up and i have to randomly mouse over the minimap button to see if a satchel is available. At the addon options there is no sound file available , at the drop down menu for the Sound all i see is "none", any idea on what might have caused this ?
Maybe you uninstalled the addon that was providing the sound you were using? LFG Call to Arms Broker doesn't ship with any sounds, it just picks up sounds provided by other addons.
Thanks for the reply, but no i didn't uninstall any addon :/ I tried reinstalling the addon , didn't work. Which addon should i download to get the sounds?
load out of date addon is checked, i have dbm ,npcscan, recount, grid, omnicc and libSharedMedia installed and still i get no sound from the addon options :/ Anything else i should try installing?
Works very well, very useful addon for tanks and healers.
Some random ideas:
1. Profile based settings. That way I can set my tank to one, healer to another (although they seem to always come at the same time, not sure if that will ever change) and turn it off automatically for dps (or set dps on, but I think we'll never see a call to arms dps).
2. Setting where if you have been idle or have sound off then it puts a notifier on your screen and you can snooze it for some amount of time.
3. Possibly a setting for autoqueue. As soon as the Call to Arms happens, it queues you (not sure if this is possible or not).
Any chance of getting a visual notification on screen? When i have my music on I don't hear any of those alerts as they are not very loud. Other than that, the addon does exactly what it says. Thanks :)

Thank you, I pulled all sliders in volume options to max and now it works just great. Keep it up for a good work.

I jyst read some comments. Eridius, if you could give some sort of center screen notifcation, it would be awesome.

I don't understand what your complaint is.

I've been waiting patiently for you to implement a screen message to appear but It's been a while so is there any chance of that sometime soon?

Maybe you forgot to check "Load Out of date Addons" after the 4.3.2 patch?
I'm really not sure what addons provide sounds and what doesn't. All I know is I have a lot of addons installed, and I have a lot of sounds available.

Would you ever consider making this a stand alone addon to remove the requirement of a broker based addon such as Titan or anything similar?
This addon also supports displaying itself as a minimap button. Does that work for you without a Data Broker host?

Sorry for slow reply to this I've been on a UK tour visiting relatives over the festive season :)
I've got titan bar installed but its not showing any sound files for LFG/CTABroker would it be difficult to allow users to add their own sound files ?
I would love to use a custom sound from a site like http://soundjax.com/alarm-1.html that would be impossible to miss :)
