Addon Description Magic Runes is a set of bars displaying rune cooldowns. It's meant as either a replacement or addition to the normal Blizzard rune display.
This mod still refuses to save its configuration for me. Every time I log on, it's back to its old position again with the same default settings. I've triple-checked permissions and such, as well as deleted the saved variables for it. Nothing seems to work.
Ok this is a mysterious one but I've also seen addons not save data at all. I believe I have discovered at least one reason why - a corrupted backup file. Can you see if you have a file named:
If it's there, try moving it to a backup location or just deleting it and then seeing if the saving works. This worked for me with MagicDKP_Client not saving its data. Basically my MagicDKP_Client.lua.bak file had been corrupted in a WoW crash and contained only null characters.
i installed this add on and my account has been hacked twice in two days, day 1 all my stuff is gone, day 2 all my characters are gone. even after deleting it and changing my password it must have installed something else that avg can't find. just be wary of it.
I'm sorry but you're being silly now. An addon cannot "hack" your account. It's code executing within World of Warcraft and it has no access to account information or anything else. Correlation is not Causation.
I can't figure out how to move the bars, nor use any of the different display options shown in "Screenshots" I've looked and read, and I'm still in the dark on this. Please gimme a hint.
Wanted to add a note that I have returned to WoW and I'm currently affected with an issue where the rune bars keep reappearing every time I login/reload the ui. So I'll look at fixing the issue now when I can reproduce it.
Your message confuses me. Do you mean that you think that the intended ability to unlock the locations via the LDB display/ minimap button should be removed?
ye. it'd be much more safe to lock and unlock it via right clicking on it -> menu or a config menu as most addons do. unlocking it through simply clicking on it is a bit insecure and not what all addons do.
I have a REALLY pro suggestion that would make Magic Runes awesome.
CASE: Currently many DK's (probably all top tier PvE DK's) play with Glyph of Disease so their Pestilence refresh the diseases on their current target too.
To maximize the use of this glyph one wants to "roll" a disease cast when you have a high AP. Even though the AP-bonus from trinkets/rune/setbonuses wears off you will still have the initial high AP-bonus on the disease from when you first casted IT/PS.
SUGGESTION: Implement a numbered display within each disease-bar what AP-value the player had when this disease was created with IT/PS. If it's refreshed with Pestilence it only inherits the previous value.
This would help us know when we need to refresh our diseases (if we see a higher current AP value on the player).
I would also be very interested in something like this. It's maddening trying to estimate the strength of your diseases and figuring out when to reapply. This would simplify things greatly.
Running Windows 7, for what it's worth.
WTF/Account/<accountname>/SavedVariables/MagicRunes.lua.bak

Deleting this backup file fixed this problem for me. I can't believe I didn't try that already. :x Oh well, at least this annoyance is gone now.
