PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Currently in the layout editor of my profile "Normal" which I apply to my PLAYER unit frame, I've debuffs checked off so that only buffs show up. I was wondering how I can make this so that only MY OWN buff icons (since I've SBF to track all buffs on me) show up on the frame.I tried doing playing around with the filter and such but to no avail...
Also, how can I make it so that my target frame (layout name "Target" which is applied to my TARGET unit frame) show only MY OWN debuff icons. At the moment it's showing everyone's debuffs and even though I can find my own debuff, it's a wee bit hectic.
Thanks a lot in advance and again, love the addon and its configurability. :]
is there a way to load a profile thru the console?, similar to the way quartz can load a profile thru the console
eq2imora, There's an entire tab under the Layout editor, Aura called Borders to configure these. The Current border lets you select the circumstances for the border to be shown as configured below. Just cycle through all of these and uncheck the Enable box. You can also change the colors to Custom color and make them display however you want. Alternatively under Colors, Aura you can play around with the Self and Others colors.
Colours in three were presented with rgb and hut sat light sliders. These could be used to roughly pick colours or to specify exact values. There was also a copy/paste function. Why was that accuracy removed in four? Now all my different energy/rage/power bars are slightly different shades.
Have you thought of including size of frame info for each layout? (dimensions in pixels) Along with an ability to choose the reference corner for a frames X and Y position coordinates (think photoshop, that nine square icon which specifies which point is the reference).
Another possible layout assitance device would be a rule tool, just like photoshop again, something to align frames by. Drag it into place and then other frames would snap to it (could also use it visually with other addons making it very handy).
Group changes for layouts: as I was making pb four look like pb three I had to, on occasion, go through a set of actions (disabling aura borders) for multiple frames. Have you thought about giving the ability to select more than one layout at once for changes?
Can buffs and debuffs be ordered in time remaining?
Can raid frames be ordered by blizzards assigned groups (think prayer of healing)? Currently I can only get the raid frame to auto sort in one way or another meaning that if there are six people in the raid but that they are in groups all over the place they condense down to look like they are neatly ordered in groups 1 and 2. I would like it to represent the player groups as truly as possible.
Thanks for your effort on such a great addon.
I've not found a way to do this, but is there a way to remove the aura border? Its too thick and tacky looking for my tastes and I haven't found another addon to replace those. Other than that I find this set of unit frames to look overall well as for what I'd like to do... However the aura filtering/positioning and those tacky (imo) borders have to go. Too square, too thick, and particularly the green.... the red for "cast by others" buffs makes me immediately think of "physical debuff" and changing it to "by dispell type" doesnt look right either... >< urg.
@Lowlander No the elementals Shaman have are not considered pets by the game and are considered Guardians. Guardians do not get a unit id. Thus we can't display their health with a unit frame.
@ Liantha Wizardling's advice is good. You can just copy your config for all of wow across.
@Dekkeon There are things that are possible in PB4 that aren't possible in PB3. But then for that matter there are some things that are not possible with PB3 that are possible with PB4. PB4 is an entirely different addon. The things that you can't do are mostly ancillary things like smooth bar updates.
Does anybody have a list of what new features/configurations are actually available in PB4 vs PB3? After using PB3 for years I know how to do what I want to do. Is this mostly an efficiency and ease-of-use update or are there really additional configuration options beyond what is named in the bullet point above? Thanks
Liantha - I suggest simply copying your entire WoW folder over to your new PC, or just your Interface and WTF folders. One of the great things about WoW is it doesn't require registry crap to work.
Really idiotic question time!
Im going to be getting a new PC shortly, yet after spending months getting Pit set up exactly how I want, I really dont want to loose it all during reinstall.
Is there anyway to save files/settings so I can just dump them back in to get Pit looking just as it is now?
TIA :)
was wondering .. as well i might not have found the option .. but is it possible 2 get a petbar 4 lets say a summoned elemental fire or earth 2 see how its healt is .. as i well use my earth elemental 4 tanking some stuff now and then but its hard 2 keep track of the healt without a sort of petbar .. and as you can heal ur elemental it would be nice 2 see when its needed ..
