Posted Mar 1, 2009Not complaining just passing on. When I am doing some figs, I have to often /reloadui for the changed to show. Not sure if this is known, just letting you know.
I also noticed that the druid mana bar goes away when at 100% mana, is this intentional? Also the text that's assigned doesn't show up.

Posted Mar 1, 2009Is it possible to disable the red health when recently attacked? I just want it to fade from green to red as the health gets lower, and not turn red any time someone is hit.
Thanks!

Posted Mar 1, 2009I've said this before but target of target frames are CPU intensive. This is true even with the Blizzard frames, you just can't profile it because they're implemented in the FrameXML and don't show as an addon. This is especially true if you're targeting yourself. Since 3.0 frames referencing yourself have to do constant updates to deal with the smooth health/power gains.
I'm sure you'll come back and say "But PitBull3 doesn't use as much." The answer to that is we're still updating a lot of things every frame in PitBull4. We haven't made an attempt to throttle much of anything. For one thing it's easier to write the code without the throttling and go back and add it later than it is to mess with it to start. Plus if we can get away with more updates without a huge performance issue, it's not really a negative.
I realize this is important to a lot of you. It's just not something that we've spent time on. Performance tuning will be done, but not until we're reasonably feature complete.

Posted Feb 28, 2009I've disabled anything that I don't feel is necessary. So basically I have the functionality of the built-in wow frames, just with a different skin.

Posted Feb 26, 2009Have you actually disabled every one of the so-called "fancy" modules? Not using them does not mean they're not active.

Posted Feb 25, 2009I just ran a profiler while doing Wintergrasp. PitBull 4, even though it's only showing Player, Target, Target of Target, took 57.7 CPU seconds. The next highest for any of my mods was 5.7 seconds.
What actual efforts are being done to encourage efficiency in this? I'm not using any of the fancy modules. I have the simplest layout I could find. Is the CPU efficiency claim backed by anything?

Posted Feb 25, 2009scot_stuf, just select the profile you want renamed and create a new layout with the correct name. When you create a new layout, it duplicates the one you have selected. Once you've made the new layout template you're free to delete the old.

Posted Feb 24, 2009Great mod guys, keep up the good work. I've been running 4.0 for a while now and haven't run into any problems yet, using grid to cover the missing raid frames, can't wait 'till they're up. Love the layout editor, only request might be a layout rename function, I haven't found it if its there, so I apologize if I missed it.

Posted Feb 24, 2009I've had some real life stuff come up so I haven't really had a chance to finish up on a lot of stuff. What I was working on was fixing a bunch of group issues. Which is related to the party pets not ordering the way people want. I figured that was more important than new functionality.
Seriously, please don't bitch because stuff isn't done. As I've said before, stuff gets done as we have time to work on it.

Posted Feb 23, 2009What's the status on Visual Heal? Or is so hard to rewrite the code to include this lib? I'm just curious...

Posted Feb 23, 2009I used PitBull3. Coming from a non-gamer background, PitBull3 was extremely daunting as I did not understand a quarter of the language used to describe options and would just have to experiment. I did, however have a working relationship with it in the end. :)
I'm looking forward to trying the new "streamlined" version.
