PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Uh, forgive me if this has been answered but I have 2 major problems with pitbull4 (Been yearning to try Pitbull for months, and since 4 supposedly has less stuff you'd have to set up, I decided I'd try it compared to XPerl...) Now, my 2 problems with pitbull4 are as follows; 1. There is MAJOR input delay between adding spacing to party or pet frames, and it actually happening. I tested it both with and without Reduced user interface input lag (that option in WoW's Interface options) and it didn't seem to make a different. Why is this so slow to change? 2. My raid frames are just one loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong vertical line. This is what'll kill me. I have to have them turned off right now, and if I start doin more than 5 man groups, being a tank or dps user, I need to know if other people are getting hit because I'm not making enough threat, or if there's something attacking my allies that I can blast or distract while the tank is busy...And if there's no way to make multiple columns or rows or w/e, I may be trying out Grid or AG or another unit frame, because nothing I did seemed to work... Also, by 'taking a long time to change' I mean I'd add vertical spacing for the Party frame, and it'd take 5+ minutes to show the change...How can I fix these problems, or what is causing them? Other than that, nice Unit frames.
I've sorted through the various posts and haven't found any information about these issues, but please forgive me if they're in there and I missed them. I am having an issue with re-enabling combat text once it's disabled. It seems that once I disable combat text on a certain layout, I cannot re-enable it. If I create a new text, I cannot get it to show the text as combat text (I am horrible with dogtags but I don't think I can configure it there). Secondly, I really liked the way vehicle units would replace my pet bar when possessed. Unfortunately, that has been changed to replace my Unit when possessed, and the player defaults to the pet unit. The issue with this is that I don't have combat text enable on my unit since I use another mod for that, and cannot re-enable it (see above). Nor do I have auras and buffs enabled on my unit because again, I use a different mod for that. If you are going to keep the vehicle bars as the player bars, is there a way to have the units swap or display certain information when possessing a vehicle? In other words, I need to see the damage a vehicle takes, as well as the buffs it has when I'm in it...
In Pitbull3, you can change the color of the bar color, as well as the bar's background color. Been banging my head against all these options and do not yet see how that is done in Pitbull4. Can anybody assist?
Alright, my frames now look gorgeous, however there is one thing, which I simply can't find: How I can change the size of the text on buffs? I am not using Buff/Debuff remaining spiral, but only the seconds/minutes. However, they look quite big with Bazooka-font and so on.
Thanks authors for the best thing since sliced bread! I've been using Pitbull forever and I love it!
One thing I noticed on my priest is that some heals only show on my own bar, where I would expect them to be visible on more. I am referring to "Prayer of Healing", which should show incoming heals on a whole group, and "Binding Heal", which should show incoming heals on me and my target.
I am sure I have seen heals appear on a whole group, but I guess that was from someone else not using Pitbull?
Keep up the good work!
I was wondering if you were ever planning to allow adding say an extra bar to the focus unit frame and have it display the focus target? Is this possible already and I am just missing it? Also I would like this feature to combine my pet frame...im a hunter...into a bar on my player frame.
Alright. Nevermind all my gibberish non-sense. I got this thing to work, with plenty Textures and fonts and all that. Right on!
Oh and, I find this 4th version far more messy than 3rd version, but it doesn't mean it's bad. I already got tons of ideas how to set this thing up, we'll see when I bother go through all stuff. :p
Nope sorry, I meant that you need to install SharedMedia to get the textures.
So Shefki you are saying, that this PitBull4 includes SharedMedia itself, and therefor I don't have to move my finger, besides from installing PitBull4, to get all Textures and shit for it?
EDIT: Alright, for some reason this AddOn simply doesn't work for me. I changed the Texture of my Healthbar, but it doesn't change. I tried ALL 3 of the different textures it had to offer, neither of them worked. I don't get this. I asked for help, someone said something about Global Settings, and I can't find this "Global Settings" either. What is going on?
Sofer, install SharedMedia. The textures come from there.
Are there textures inside this AddOn, ready to use? As far as I can remember, last time I tried confing this thing up, I couldn't change the texture of a healthbar of a target/player or whatever frame.
Everytime I even try to config this up, it seems like nothing is working, or changing, if I set up something up. I wish to give it even another shot sometime.
Any ETA about the offsets on axis for texts and indicators? The actually positioning of text and indicators is a little crap :(
I have tried a lot of combinations and never stays were I want
Powerbar - middle
Unitframe - Inside, middle

So, I've been a PB user since bc now i used Pitbull3 for the longest time and had recently upgraded to Pitbull4. I only have 1 question and it might just be a matter of me having to reset my WTF/WDB folders, but my quesiton is this. . .
q: How do i get my HP to show up on bars..(32123k)i can only see deficits.
This is killing me. Please help.
Thank you seattlegirl! I was sure my question was already posed by someone, but I didn't think it would be very fun sifting through 320 comments looking for an answer.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE COMMENTING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO CONFIGURE SEPARATE FRAMES:
The ability is there, and it is wonderfully arranged with all the beauty and precision of 3.0, but far easier to use!
You create a template for each frame. This means that you can create a template for your target frame, your raid frame, your party frame, your pet frame, et cetera. You then determine the function for each template you've created (Template #1 is used for the Target function, Template #2 for the Pet Target frame, and so on).
You can also share templates between frames. For example, my raid and party frames have the same template (in my case, I named that template "businesstime").
Remember: form and function. You create a form (a template) and determine it's function (Target Frame, Raid Frame, et cetera).
So the ability is there, and if you can't find it, then you just haven't figured out 4.0 yet. So keep looking!
I get the following error on login, but only with a DK.

-I may be blind and foolish, but is it not possible to have separate configurations for different frames? Eg. auras located at the bottom of my player unit frame but at the top of my target unit frame? I absolutely love the changes in version 4.0 and it would be a shame for me to have to go back to 3.0.
Well I disabled some more modules right now, I actually don't use Threatbar, Combatfader and some others. Maybe this helps.
