PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

Can you enable "Display Lua Errors" and post the errors that you're probably getting but can't see right now?
To do so press Escape until the Game Menu shows up, Click on Interface, Go to the Game Tab and Help Entry, click "Display Lua Errors" so that it is checked and then press Okay.
Just downloaded the update for Pitbull from Curse, and everything looks to be working properly again! Turned on LUA errors but haven't gotten any yet; I'll come back and post them if I do get any errors relating to Pitbull.

Thanks!!
Most of that UI is from a package called PG UI, pretty sure that's where most of the KG Panels graphics came from, though I did modify a bunch of things (health bars are Reuben texture from SharedMedia, and I completely changed the raid frames as I found they were too plain), but yeah, mostly just PG UI.
I'm still getting the error with no visible Target, and a LUA message, even after the most recent update:
Edit: Strangely, after alt-tabbing back in after posting this, it seems to have fixed itself. Odd.
People have reported this SetFont error off and on. Looking at the code I have an idea what's causing it and I should be able to fix it. But it should be relatively rare. Basically there appears to be a race condition where sometimes the font isn't being reported as set before the text gets set.
Got this LUA upon joining a group:
If you're having issues with the SetFont error can you try the alpha posted here and let me know if it helps:

Is there a way to edit boss frames with this addon?
When I load up the game it shows the origional blizzard frames. Have to "reload" the profile to make it pop up again and the blizzard frame vanish.
Probably some other addon causing the issue. Try with only PItBull4 loaded, if it doesn't still happen it's some other addon. There's an FAQ entry in the FAQ linked above about this.
I have a problem with the health bar. when I target an enemy his health is green and when i do damiage his health turns yellow then red when dead. Is there a way to get the health back to normal? my health green, enemys red.
I have a problem where my Totem indicator creates an error when I try to right click it to destroy the totem. More specifically, I summoned my raised ally on my DK and I tried to dismiss it and that happened:
Date: 2013-08-16 22:54:14 ID: 1 Error occured in: AddOn: PitBull4_Totems Count: 1 Message: Error: AddOn PitBull4_Totems attempted to call a forbidden function (DestroyTotem()) from a tainted execution path.
In many cases it is crucial for me to be able to destroy my totems to prevent unwanted damage from being done, such as in old content. Please fix this or let me know what I did wrong for it happen! Pitbull is a great addon and I'd like to keep it! Thank you!
Hi, I set up my unit frames today and I noticed, that there is a slight error in the positioning of some texts. Whenever a unit is being mirrored (the target for example) all texts, originally positioned on the outiside left, will be displayed with faulty offsets. Its not only, that the outside margin has to be changed, to acheive the same distance to the bars, but different text elements are being aligned differently too.
1. Player: Both name and class have a distance of 13px to the bars.
2. Target: The name has the desired distance of 13px. The class however is obviously further away.
Addiditionally, some indicators are being cut off. As seen on the player frame.
Hello! I'm having a problem getting my Tank frames working, and I'm sure it's just something I'm not configuring.
I followed the steps in the how-to article (I did tank and tank target groups) - and this shows up properly when I have a Raid selected from the pull down menu. However, when I get into a Raid - it does not display at all. If, while in the raid, I go into the Tank group and remove the filter, setting it to show all, it does. So the group is active. (I do notice that it displays "all" in a different location, just in case that is valuable info)
When I inspect Blizzard frames (which I don't know where to turn off ), the tanks have the shield displayed & I have specifically asked the tanks to be marked.
So, what have I not done, that I need to do? T.I.A.
Edit. The answer seems to be turn off the Blizzard frames in the interface by making a new profile for it and de-selecting everything. I did not remember having to do that before.
Anyway chalk it up to user error, but you might want to update the instructions to mention it. Thank you very much. I have always enjoyed PitBull.
Hi there. I have set Pitbull to fade frames out of range. with a 40 healing spell. I am still able to heal out of range, faded (stationary) players with the same spell. The frame seems to fade out at about ~38-39yards.
just a minor inconvenience
What class? Do you have any talents/glyphs/etc... that changes the range on some spells? Generally the range indicator works by asking the game if some spells are in range. We may be using the wrong spell for your class or the game may just be giving us the wrong info. As Blizzard changes things around sometimes the spells we're using just aren't the right spell. I don't go in and review this every path so unless someone reports it, it usually doesn't get caught.
If that's not the case probably it's just the way the game works. One thing you can do is compare the range indications on your actionbar (assuming you're using one with this and have it enabled) with the range indication on your target frame. If they match then it's probably not something we can do anything about.
Is there a way to make sure overhealing does not stretch outside the name plate?
/pb, Layout Editor, select whatever layout you want this off on under Current layout, Other, Visual heal, uncheck Show overheals and/or Show overabsorb.
This will stop the heal/absorb at the end of the bar. There's at current no indicator to show that it goes past that. But it should be at least mostly what you want.

Check out the nebula169 clone, will be coming to mainline soon(TM)
