PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
PitBull Unit Frames 4.0
Woof. Arf. Yip.
Getting Started:
You can help translate PitBull for your language with the localization tool.
Classic
PitBull works with WoW Classic! Classic Era/Vanilla is supported in
v4.3.x-vanilla
releases. Cataclysm Classic is supported in v4.2.x
releases
(the same releases retail use).
Classic Era caveats:
- Aura duration is not available from the API, so PitBull uses LibClassicDurations to show them. The duration can be inaccurate if it's affected by rank or talents.
- Cast info is only available for your spells from the API. PitBull uses LibClassicCasterino to show cast bars for other units, but this can be inaccurate since there is a lot of guess-work involved.

A Nameplate is those things that bob around over peoples heads.
The character window is the window that opens up and shows all the gear you are wearing.
I am going to assume you are talking about the unitframe.
You say you have disabled this in PB4. Was that under /pb Modules > Hide Blizzard Frames?
Did you check the FAQ for other addons that have been known to cause the reappearing behavior and ensured it is not those?
Are you using the latest version of PB4?
I have not seen this issue occurring on my end.
Please clarify what you are seeing.
@Shefki
Well it's actually pretty fun for me to have implemented this. I now have a command line updater for a huge list of addons. =)
@spiralofhope
Different versions of libraries and the addon happens sometimes. But you can generally stay ahead of things by choosing to use the same versions as our packager would choose. Look at .pkgmeta in the top level director of PitBull4.
Honestly, if you're not looking to actually work on the addon. I'd strongly advise that you just use the packaged version. It's just not worth the hassle using the checked out version directly.
@Shefki
Thanks for the reply Shefki, it seems that a lot of projects are doing the same thing. I'll need to go through things and hunt down the embedded libraries and do my own linking/updating from them directly.
I'm a little scared of libraries and addons being a bit out of sync from one another though, but I'll keep an eye on things.
@spiralofhope, If you're going to use it out of git you have to provide the dependencies on your own and symlink modules into your interface folders.
All I do is manually add symlinks when new modules come along. And I just add library dependencies to Curse Client.
I'm currently updating directly from the git mainline: git://git.wowace.com/wow/pitbull4/mainline.git
However, it doesn't have the same directory structure as the official release: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/pitbull4.aspx
Specifically, it's missing all of the PitBull4_* directories for the modules.
I can see within PitBull4/ there is PitBull4/Modules/ and that looks like the complete list within.
However, it does not seem as simple as linking the modules from there back to the regular Interface/AddOns/ directory.
The modules have libraries included with them. So if I look at PitBull4_Aggro/ from the curse download I can see PitBull4_Aggro/libs/LibBanzai-2.0/ .. however that is not included with the git PitBull4/Modules/Aggro/
It's possible for me to write some scripting to sync the git version of PitBull4/Modules/* back into the various PitBull4_* folders, and do occasional manual updates for any embedded libraries. But is there some better solution that you can think of? How do you yourself handle such things?
There are some other projects here on wowace/curseforge which use svn and with that they include the repositories of other projects. Doing svn up pulls from the main addon's repo and also look at all of the embedded library repos for updates. Is something similar available for git?
@Paradox52525
It may not be much help, but I ended up making shift-rightclick pop up menus and I don't use shift-rightclick for any other clique activities.

And when I am out of combat the problem still occurs.
