Intro

Postman is an addon which allows you to track mail delivery, keep a dropdown list of frequently mailed characters and more. The addon has been abandoned by the original author, and I was able to pick it up and get it working with Wrath as well as 3.0.8. This project should be considered inactive, however I will keep it working until I get it's successor, MailboxPlus, released.

At last: A sign that Speeddy still lives! I quit playing wow for the better part of 8 months. Things went from bad to worse. So I spend my time with my kids when I do see them and the rest of the time I was sitting around like a bum. I got tired of it so here I am. MailboxPlus development will resume momentarily; sans nagging wife.

Note from Speeddy: To those of you that appreciate my work, I must apologize. I know I have helped in many ways to make things easier, and bring back some addons that people adored.

Some recent events have caused me to reevaluate my priorities in life. I've spent the better part of the last 3 years working on characters on this game, and a good deal of that time was also invested in working on addons and other things on the computer. If you have seen the movie "Click" with Adam Sandler, you know what I'm thinking. If you haven't seen it, you should. It explains why I'm saying what I'm about to say. I have a 3 year old son and a 5 month old daughter that need me. Without any more to say, I am officially retiring from addon development.

That doesn't mean I won't still write addons, I'm just not going to be a full time author anymore. Addons will still be kept up to date, but it is going to be a LOT longer than originally anticipated before MailboxPlus is released.

I may still contribute here and there, but the majority of my time is going to be spent on trying to give my kids the attention they deserve.

Just downloaded and installed 2-release and I'm getting the following error when opening a mail box:

I have taken over this addon, and am writing an Ace3 port of it with a new name. It's going to have everything this one does, working for current version, and also implement the features of MailFu.. They seem to go together well. If you have any feature requests, please hold off on making them until I get an official project put up on Wowace. The addon's name is going to be MailboxPlus

I'm getting this error when I login to any of my accounts.
It's not the other addons because I removed them all including directories.
Any ideas?

There is an error in the TOC file.

The loading of the AceHook library does not happen because of a missing seperator.

this is what is now:
libs\AceHook-2.1AceHook-2.1.lua

this is what it needs to be:
libs\AceHook-2.1\AceHook-2.1.lua

I have used both Postal and Postman. People used Postman because you could use a key combination to open all AH related mail. Postal now does that as well as its other functions. The other thing that Postman does is it tells you when the mail you send is delivered and to whom. I know if you mailed something to yourself from another toon it would also tell you when you received that mail, but I can't remember if it would tell you when you received mail every time or not.

Since Postman is broken I am just using Postal, but if there was an update I'd use them both because I miss the mail notification. Hope that description helps. :D

I would like to see an update for this addon.. it makes dealing with listing many auctions much easier ( single click to get all AH related mail compared to manually opening hundreds.. )

I use both Postal and Postman since each of them have different features and they work together. Unfortunately there are a couple of things in Postman which aren't working now with WoW 3.0.2 (such as the drop down arrow and dejavu function), but some features are still working. I'll continue using it until an updated version is released (I hope!!).
I wish I could tell you more about what each of the addons does, but I've used them both so long that I'm not sure which addon is giving me which features. I do know that I need both to get all the features I want. hope this helps! :D

SendMailFrame_SendeeAutocomplete() has been replaced with a function named PlayerNameAutocomplete()

Replacing the name in the hook only solves one of the problems. I still can't get the pulldown menu code to work either. But it does seem to help with completeing names in my own history again.
