A tool for achieving optimal spell cycles as a shadow priest
The linked one (lurch.homelinux...) is now gone. Instead, go to http://www.wowace.com/projects/project-13755/ and check out the alpha version. I am working on moving it from Ace2 to Ace3 (not released anywhere yet.)
Devouring plague is a terrible spell to use as an opener simply because if you're the only Shadow Priest in the group, you have that -3% hit lost from not having misery on the target, and there's nothing more frustrating than missing on DP and having to wait 24 seconds to recast it. What i recommend for the rotation would be..
Shadow Weaving in (Brackets)
Vampiric Touch (1+ Misery) > Mind Blast (2) > Mind Flay (5) > Devouring Plague (5) > SWP (5)
At this point mind blast is back up at full power and your rotation can continue strong without any concerns of missing a major dot thats overly costful
I was all excited about trying to add on. But it is not working. It states that a portion is missing for it to work. Ace2? Has anyone encountered this?
If I find some spare time I'll try to update it for DP . It shouldn't need any redoing for the SWP since it only checks if it's there (the beauty of simplicity :) )
we raid with 2 Shadow Priests currently, it seems that Darkness is not seprating between mine and the other Spriests Debuffs (VE/VT) so it is not prompting to refresh every 15 sec
If you have the shadow weaving talent, it won't offer shadow word pain until you have 5 stacks of shadow weaving. Also checks for Devouring Plague.
I'm thinking of making Devouring Plague be first spell cast. Might make it an option you can set.
I'd be willing to take over this project.

Thanks
Am i doing something wrong?
Will it be updated for the patch to include the changes to SW:P and add Devouring Plague to the rotation?

So what exactly does it do? Not much of a description.
Good!
