This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of World of Warcraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.
Does anyone know of a parser for the saved files? I would like to have a record of who said what when. It is very difficult to figure these things out from the raw data. A sister addon would work, so it would have its own SavedVariables file. a simple slash command that would save all (or selectable) conversations in a readable format.
LDB = LibDataBroker. It is an interface that provides addons with a way to say how their 'block' (icon, text, tooltip, menu) should appear on for example FuBar, Titan, or any other arbitrary visualisation addon that supports LDB.
Support for LDB effectively means that Whisp will no longer only run with FuBar, and gives you freedom of choice of what bar/datablock-addon you prefer.
Thank you for explaining it to me and that sounds like a great addition to whisp and addons in general. Whisp is currently broken for me though unfortunately something about hiding PM message or similar. I very much look forward to an update whenever that may come. Thank you for your continued hard work.
The error that happens in core.lua on line 265 is a conflict with the "hidden message" mode of DBM. I had to delete my DBM addon from the addon folder to get rid of it.
Yes, I'm still supporting this addon. After the wowace-migration this page obviously needs some updating, which I will look into soonish ;-) My current focus (which just means I don't have much time at the moment) is to get my other addon, SpamSentry, back on track.
What does patch 3.0 mean for Whisp?
Firstly, I can confirm that there are no known issues with patch 3.0. Should you find any, please post here or send me a PM.
Secondly, I am not going to do a meaningless .toc bump just for the sake of it. The addon works just as it used to.
What's on the agenda:
A switch to LDB. Support for FuBar will become a passive one, as LDB offers the same plus a lot more flexibility for you. Mind this is a long term thing; I need time to do it proper.
nice to know this addon is not going into oblivion, thanks for making it (I use spamsentry too it's working great thanks also for this one), can't wait to see a new version as it is the last addon that keeps me using fubar over ldb, and also if this conflict with dbm could be solved it would be great as bigwigs doesn't seem much updated lately and dbm is the only working bossmod that I know of.
Unless you already have.. if so i should go find out XD
