Talented adds spec templates to the Talent UI.
Talented 3
Talented is getting a large update for wow 4. It will no longer replace the default UI but add a new Tab to it, with most of the previous functionality present.
There is an alpha release available on wowace. It's still missing some major parts, but it should give you an idea of the new interface.
Talented_Loader is no longer needed (and in fact will create problems if left installed, so remove it at once).
Update feature List
- Create and view templates for all classes and all pet types.
- Set a specific template as a target, and see it when you're spending your next talent point on level up.
- Apply complete templates with a single click, after a talent wipe.
- Hunters can view the spec of their pet and apply templates to them.
- Share your current build with other, or any template you've made.
- Import templates directly from the Blizzard Talent calculator, wowhead or wowdb.
- Export templates as URL to wowhead, wowdb or the Blizzard Talent calculator.
- Allow pet templates to be imported from and export to wowhead pet calculator.
- Inspection of other characters will also inspect their alternate spec, if they have one.
- A macro command /talented apply <template> allows to automatically apply a template based on its name.
By default, each time you try to directly spend a talent point, Talented will ask you to confirm your choice.
The major issue is that the Talent trees of most classes has changed pretty dramatically, and the template may not correspond to the new tree. These templates will be removed from Talented.
the way it is cureently set up makes it very confusing to use
i think blizz got it right by putting tabs on the side for the individual specs and an easy button to switch specs i think that could go along way in your design the menu system was great with one spec but more complicated the way its implented now its not clear in the addon which spec is the current spec because the currently active spec always shows as primary spec it think this needs to kept more seperate and clear for simplicity
reasons and to avoid mistakes when setting up multiple specs
i hope this was constructive to you in making the addon as good as it can be i love talented and would be lost with out it keep up the good work
Note that Talented window is huge for people with small screen, adding to its size is not something I want to do.
Right now, the lower left checkbox is hidden when looking at the alternate spec. I'm thinking about replacing the checkbox with a button to switch to the spec instead.
it would be less confusing in the menu system if your current spec wasnt always listed as primary spec if they were simply left as a check mark as to a primary spec and an alternate spec this would serve to improve the usability alot more as far as having tabs i understand your reason for not wanting to add this however it could easily be set as an optional component and the profile system i dont feel would interfere much if done right they are already set somewhat separate if added an option to apply to primary spec or secondary spec this could work much nicer than the current setup
Here is one of the strings I had created on WoWhead to import
