BigWigs_ThaddiusArrows
BigWigs Strategy Module for Thaddius in Naxxramas.
BigWigs_ThaddiusArrows is a separate module for BigWigs because it involves
strategy and tells the player directly what to do, instead of simply providing
information on what happens in the encounter.
It supports 4 strategies; Circular with both left and right as first direction
based on what debuff you get, "run through" where the raid is split in 2
groups on either side of him according to their debuff, and "four states"
where raid changes diagonals on each polarity shift.
Currently it can announce the direction to move in 3 ways:
* Displaying huge arrows on-screen. * A BigWigs text message with directional text arrows like "
Duderino, the module is now load on demand so you wont get anything showing up until you moseover Thaddius (or enable it manuall) The options for the mod should then show up under the 'extras' menu in BigWigs I believe. Im not in game at the moment to verify that, but the options are there somewhere once the module enables.
mhh i didn´t get any options menu where i can set the right tactic and even whorse i don´t see any arrows -.-

Zhenne is correct I should have stated that in my update, this is the same version that is on teh wowace site, the version here was never updated for 2.0.
The actual fix to make this work is in r19607 and later of BigWigs itself.
If you download the latest Big Wigs, r19607. it fixes this problem since the changelog says the following:
BigWigs - Updated Thaddius mod to reflect new Unit_Debuff format, should fix polarity messages not displaying (and ThaddiusArrows).
I won't be able to test this until tonight but it should be better.
I'm pretty sure this is the same version from an Ace site...we tried it with Thaddius on Wednesday and the arrows never showed up the screen =\
Is this a new version and has someone tested it in action?
It should work with the DE client just fine since it uses the localizations from BigWigs for the thaddius messages, you may need to add localizations for the specific messages this mod uses, if you want to localise the strings inside the main lua file I'll happily update the mod with them.
As for the framing, I think if you attach it to the worldframe instead of ui parent that would work for what you are asking but Im not completely sure I'd have to fiddle wit it myself to be certain.
I plan on doing all I can to keep this mod function for 2.01. From what Ive read I should be able to still display information frames in combat just nothing that you would be able to click on. Since that isnt a problem I dont forsee alot of trouble getting this working in 2.01
Is it even possible since decision making in combat from an addon is all but removed in 2.01?
Whats your plans for this, since in the expansion beta and so in the PTR bigwigs and this mod do not function with just a toc update. Will you have a working version?
is there a way that the arrows could be made to still display when Alt-z is used. I know that statrings works this way. By pressing alt-z I can get above 10 fps for this fight :)
I think changing the parent frame to "WORLDFRAME" would do this, but not 100% sure.

Just a little question:
Does this addon work with the german client, are we able to see the arrow? The BigWigs bossmod addon does have de-client support, but here I miss the german flag in the compatibility part. So can anybody say if it works?

I'll take a look at this ASAP. I uploaded a new zip. If you run into these kind of problems in the Future try downloading this mod from www.wowace.com/files until I remember to push it out to the various sites
Edit: Also this version requires at least the newest release of BigWigs on Curse.

Bigwigs latest update causes problems with this TA add-on. On login especially.

Just a suggestion...
There are actually 4 different combinations of initial direction and which direction to rotate when a polarity shift occurs. Although I was able to dig into the lua and modify it to fit the strategy my guild is using, It might be good for you to add the other 2 possible circular strats.
There are two situations I can think of where you might have problems... The first being if people miss the jump and dont get the initial charge... In this case they should be flogged and use a bit of common sense to join the right group regardless of what the mod says... I really cant think of a good way to account for this situation.
If everyone has the same strategy set the only other condition I can think of is the stupid factor, people blaming the mod for running the wrong direction or getting too close to the opposite charge.
I suppose its possible that there is a latency related situation or a problem with a non-english client, but I have yet to run into either of these situations myself so I would need some more detailed feedback in order to try and determine if there is a problem.
Ok this is a great mod I love it and it helps everyone out but there are ocassions that the arrows are giving false information and people are running to the wrong sides and wipping half the raid. I am going to assume that there may be another MOD that may be conflicting with the Thaddius Arrow Mod.

The main reason this isnt included in the BigWigs Core module is that it deals with strategy. The bigwigs core tries to be strategy neutral and just provide timer information.
why don't include this plugin in the BigWigs bossmod?
