GemList
Description
GemList will make your life as a jewelcrafter easier. after installation you open your jewelcrafting panel. now your friends will be able to whisper you
!gems red
to get a list of gems you can craft that fit into a red socket. of course this works with blue/yellow/meta, too.

Beta Versions and recent Bugfixes
For latest betas use this link: http://files.wowace.com/
Before reporting Bugs
pls make sure you use the most current version of GemList. Try the link above. Try disabling all other mods and see if the problem persists. If it does not, update your other mods. If it does, post your problem and mention the version number. use /glist version or look into changelog.txt to find out.
Options
You can set some options using /gemlist or /glist.
/glist inc Toggles whether incoming requests are shown
/glist out Toggles whether outgoing replies are shown
/glist autoscan Toggles whether your Jewelcrafting panel will be automatically scanned when opened. DON'T use this if you use the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix"
/glist desc Toggles searching in description. This is to enable searching for Stats like int, agi +heal and so on
/glist scan Manually scan your Jewelcrafting panel. You have to open it first. Do this if Autoscan is turned off and you learn a new Gem
/glist tlock Determines the Spamlock Timer in seconds. Customers will get a msg to wait x seconds before next query
/glist chatprefix Use this to change the prefix which will trigger GemList in whispers to you. !gem will work always though
'/glist version Prints Version Info. Use this before reporting bugs
/glist insert lets you manually insert gems into the databse. this is the "Stormy Star of Elune glitch-fix" This is not longer needed
Thanks
thanks to my friends Nosferat and Sirvival on Zuluhed-EU who help much in beta-testing. thanks to athou for the original EnchantList addon.
FAQ
since this is a FAQ here a clarification on the query system:
there are no options to filter by hardcoded into the mod. it searches over occurences of the queried words in the gem's tooltip (stats and color here), name, rarity, itemlink and reagents. for a query to return any gems, ALL words in the query have to appear in one of these.
you could search for sta stam stami stamin stamina sp spi spir spirit str stre stren streng strengt strength blu blue yel yello heal healing crit spell damage agi agility def defense
and even any combination like blue spell yellow mana heal rare red def [itemlink] agi
Changelog
see Changelog Tab above
Hi :p
Very Nice Add-on wich helps us (jewelcrafters) a lot !!
But I wanted to know if it could be possible to use french prefixes instead of english ones?
If you need some help to translate, you can send me a PM, it would be a great pleasure for me to help you do that :)
/clap
Still dying for a "!gem [Gemlink]" option! =D
Still dying for a "..player.. has inquired about your gems." option! :P
Just turn off the "hide tells" option (probably not the exact name)
tianmi and others getting gratuity errors: try not to delete your full wtf folder but only the GemList.lua file contained in
WTF\Account\YOURACCOUNTNAME\SavedVariables\GemList.lua
this will save your ui.
Lusitan: Yes, there is a limit on every search since ppl get disconnected when sending too much lines at once. tell your customers to be more specific. try !gem red rare or !gem rare heal (see above -.- )
@Nadab
delete your WTF/WDB folder.. but don't forget that you have to set your UI again ;)
I keep getting this error =(
Fehler: attempt to index field 'Rlines' (a nil value) AddOn: GemList Datei:Gratuity-2.0.lua Zeile:62 Fehler Nummer:1
is there a limit on the rare search.
Cause when i use !gems rare only the top 14 on dificulty show up, and way more than that.
so when people whisper me they dont see my full list of a rares and that makes me loosing one potential costumer.
Great mod, loving it since day 1
And what Rizarjay suggested sounds awsome as well.
>> If I do !gem red, Bracing Earthstorm Diamond comes up.
Download the newest version of Gemlist (r29035), delete your old Gemlist folder and install the newest version. If this problem still persist please delete wtf / wdb folder BUT then your old UI configs will be deleted and you have to move everything again. =X
@Mikezter Could you please insert a feature for !gem [Gemlink] =)
If I do !gem red, Bracing Earthstorm Diamond comes up.
Pitzer: sry i misunderstood. Itemlink searching did not work for stormy star of elune in previus version. it should now though and /glist insert is not needed anymore.
rizarjay: which version are you using? i can't seem to reproduce this glitch. does this happen with every meta-gem you can craft?
starla: there are currently no plans to add necklaces and other stuff to the mod since it is heavily optimized for gems.
I just downloaded this program and find it may be very useful. Thanks for your work on it. I do want to make a few suggestions. I looked over your scripts (very pretty), but I don't know enough about scripting to alter to my needs most of the time. Is there a way to add Neck and Ring to this? And is it possible to have a level range restriction on it as well? so when someone's shaman hits a certain lvl and they want to know the rings they can use, they can type something like !gem Neck level 15-20? Might make more use of all our skill rather then just the gems. Great work..i know my guild and myself will love this.
So, I just realized using !gem red, it'll also include meta gems that say like, "Requires more Red gems than Blue gems".. Is there any way to make it so that won't happen?
OK tested it.
I manually downloaded and installed Gratuity, activiated it in Addons screen, loaded game again, no errors.
Then, I log out, disable Gratuity, log in again. No error.
Therefore it appears the one-off tooltip parsing that Gratuity does must create a file, and once it's created, Gemlist will work with Gratuity disabled.
Tested the hypothesis by deleting the Saved Variable for Gemlist, and reloading, however I got no errors! Wierd. It appears that Gratuity only needed to have loaded once to have permanently fixed the errors.
Maybe there's another setting saved somewhere by Gratuity. Anyhow, hopefully this helps solve the problem.
I also get the Gratuity error, using the current latest version of Gemlist.
use /glist insert (see above)
While /glist insert [Stormy Star of Elune] works and it does add this gem cut to the list of Blue gems available, is still does not add it to the list of gems available if you type in /glist insert [Star of Elune]
If the 2nd option is tried, when you type in !gem blue you get an error:
Interface\AddOns\GenList\GemList.lua:259:bag arguement #1 to 'lower' (string expected, got nil)
The only way to remove this error in game is to manually scan the gem list again with /glist scan.
You then have to put the Stormy Star of Elune back into the list with /glist insert [Stormy Star of Elune]
The Gem design: Stormy Star of Elune does not show up on any list when requested.
The gem cut itself, is placed in the Trade Goods Section of the JC list and therefore may be causing the problem.
!gem [Star of Elune] produces: <GemList> Nothing found.
!gem blue produces a list of all current blue gem designs but does not have Stormy Star of Elune on that list.
!gem elune produces: <GemList> Nothing found.
ignore me i just figured it out.. i can make far too many red gems :P
thanks anyway
staggs
