Past Versions
Cryolysis 2 is now the official release download.
Barring any unforeseen problems, Cryolysis 1 ("Revived", "Reborn", "New Beginning") will no longer be updated/supported. If there is a specific reason(s) you're using Version 1 and need a hot fix to keep it working, you can post here in comments (make sure you note that you are referring to Version 1) or send any member of the team a private message through Curse (list is in the top right corner), and we will try to implement fixes as time permits.
FAQ
- Configuration Menu
To open the Configuration Menu, right-click the Main-Sphere. If you have hidden the main sphere, you can get a list of of commands by typing "/cryo". - Custom Buttons
Custom buttons can now use either spells, items, or macros. Make sure when setting up the custom buttons that you select the correct type (ie: spell, macro, item) and that you press Enter after typing in the name. If you don't press enter, your changes will not be saved. - Spell Timers
Timers have not been implemented yet. As such, the spell timers option should be turned off in the configuration menu for now. These will be implemented sometime after patch 2.4. - Messages/Speeches
Currently, Short Messages have not been implemented. There are a number of different options to display random messages:- USER: Messages will display for you only. Mildly useless, but the functionality is there.
- WORLD: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that /say.
- GROUP: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that it will remain silent. Old Cryo1 Behavior.
- RAID: Messages will display for /raid, bar that it will remain silent.
- PARTY: Messages will display for /party, bar that it will remain silent.
- SAY: Messages will display in /say.
- Localizations
To help localise Cryo2 in your language, download Cryo2 from WoWAce, edit your locale file in the /locales/ and send it to us. Files should be encoded in utf-8.
Other Info
User input is very important, so please post here anything related to the mod's functionality with as much detail as possible. Please only post Cryolysis 2 errors, as the original Cryolysis will no longer be getting updated Thanks.
Take your time getting this done. I'd prefer to have a less-buggy version then a quicker release. And besides, mid-terms are way more important. I love this mod, but I've managed to keep the old version working well enough for now, so I can wait. :)
Gotta say, thanks for the best mage mod out there, and keep up the good work. :D
Can't believe that you are actually apologizing to us since you are the one carring the burden with updating this addon. I am as properly many others excited to see an updated cryolysis, so I say take all the time you need, so we can have it as error-free as posible. But if you can have an updated version ready in 2 weeks then that would be GREAT, I am really looking forward to that. I will just end this "tale" with a short "thank you".
By the way good luck with your midterms.

Awesome, Cryolysis has been on my mage since the beginning, glad to see a update coming for it as well. Great job to both of you for keeping it alive.
Hi.
I like this addon, have both Totemus for my Shaman as well as Necrosis for my lock so was very happy when I found a similar addon for my mage. Just noticed something annoying when I started on the keybindings.
For Necrosis I bound alt+F1 for my fel armor. I want to use same binding for my most used mage armor. But whenever I try to bind it I get the message that it is currently bound to this Necrosis button and asks if I want to change it. Was a while ago since I mucked with Totemus but I believe I had the same problem there so haven't bound anything but clicks instead I don't like that cause I'm not a clicker. :(
Was wondering if that could be fixed somehow... I like to keybind stuff.
Generally you don't have to be selective about which toons Cryolysis is enabled for, as it will only show up for mages. But, if you are having any conflicts then it would be a good idea to only enable class-specific mods for the class or classes they are intended for.
Hey
First of all I have no idea if this might work, but what about just unloading necrosis for your mage. I mean go to the addon menu doing login and remove the necrosis loading on startup for everyone else then your lock.
Personally I choose which addon I sure for everyone of my chars, e.g. I dont bother loading ktm or omen threat meter for my low level char, this saves me some interface space and I properly use a tiny little less cpu and memory. I got the same "deal" with cryolysis no reason to have it runing for my non-mage chars.

A couple things I wanted to address in the comments here...
Cooldowns: The original Cryolysis used a pre-made table of every spell a mage could have. This table contained cooldown information, spell name, school of magic, etc. This has been removed in Cryolysis 2. In Cryolysis 2, cooldown information is going to be pulled directly from the spell. This will fix any issues with incorrect cooldown timers due to talents.
PTR 2.3: I have been testing Cryolysis 2 on the PTR and have not run into any issues thus far. The mod should be fully 2.3 compatible.
Graphics: In the past, Cryolysis had issues with textures no appearing. In Cryolysis 2, all textures are being pulled directly from the game's icon sets. This means that there should be significantly less texture issues such as green boxes and buttons that don't load.
Memory/CPU Usage: The biggest issue I've been trying to focus on is reducing memory and CPU usage. At the moment, Cryolysis 2 is using 131kb of memory and little to no CPU power. Cryolysis 1 is using 2.57mb of memory and 6% - 10% CPU power. In simple terms, it's very resource efficient.

Another small progress update...
The following buttons are finished with the exception of tooltips:
Mount Button
Mana Gem Button
Right and Left Custom Spell Buttons
Evocation Button
Food and Water Buttons
Main Sphere Text and Clicking functionalty
The main sphere's outer sphere is about 90% done
I'll be working on the portal and spell menu later this week (got some midterms coming up).
After I get these 2 menus working, I'll be releasing a beta. This beta will not include timers nor messages. It will also most likely not have tooltips for the buttons.
First thing to mention in detail is that the mana gem button has it's old functionality. No more menu for conjuring and using them. Right clicking will conjure the highest available mana gem that isn't already conjured, and left clicking will use the highest mana gem conjured. At this time, I do not plan on adding a lowest to highest left click use.
Mounts will most likely not be updated for this release, as this is a low priority issue for me at the moment. If I find some extra time, I'll include it.
Please be aware that once I do release a beta, there will be bugs. For one thing, I cannot guarrantee that the mod will work for anyone under level 70. While I am making efforts towards compatibility for pre-70 users, it is not a major concern of mine since the majority of the user-base is level 70.
This initial beta will not be localized, localization will be the final step of development. This is due to the fact that I won't know what strings need to be localized until a large majority of the code is finalized.
Hang in there guys, it'll be out soon enough!

Have a few issues, with one maybe not implemented yet.
1. The graphical cooldown timer appears to be off. I'm a frost mage and it doesn't appear to be calculating the talent Ice Floes in with my cooldowns.
2. It can not find my land mount (an epic Brewfest mount).
3. In the readme attached inside the zip file (I assume is outdated) mana gem usage from smallest to largest was an option but I can not find it in the options menu.
Not sure how much this helps as it looks like a total recoding is in process. Good luck and thanks for the mod.
yeah, all that and more is being reworked at the moment, i would keep checking back on this page as hopefully there should be a beta up of the new version within the next couple of weeks. and as to your specific issues, the timers have been boned ever since blizz introduced the integrated buff/debuff timers, the mana gem usage thing got boned when BC came out and as far as i know, that function is no longer possible, and as far as the brewfest mount goes, because that is so new and the rework was already in progress when that particular mount was introduced, i wouldnt expect to see that at least until the first beta of the new version, possibly even later. if you really wanted to add it in now you can throw in the code to the version you have manually.
i know you have probably already thought of this and are working on it, but the way you are rewriting the mod, are you trying it on the PTR as well because i have heard that alot of mods are getting boned by 2.3, kepp up the good work and looking forward to the new version of the best mod ever
I didn't have this error before, so I dunno why your version would be part of it. Could you at least take a look? I'll leave it over at Critical also...

anxious about the new update :)
Hi, I have issues with this version of Cryolysis:
First, Cryolysis works fine on my Alliance Human mage but not on my Horde Blood Elf mage: the sphere does not appear at all, only the buttons appear.
Second: the mount button does not show up and my mount is noy recognized (it is a standard one however and it is in the data base)... When I force the mount button to appear sacrifying the spell button nothing shows up unless a cricle...
I am on the French Client... please tell me these probs are fixed in the next release...
Just a small update on progress:
With the exception of tooltips, the mount button, and the 2 custom spell buttons are completely done. They've also been tweaked a little bit too! The mount button now detects the first ground mount and first flying mount in your bags. Left click will get you on your ground mount and right click will get you on your flying mount. Hearthstone has been moved to middle click.
The custom buttons have been completely redone! You can now type in any spell that you currently know in your spellbook. You can completely customize the left, right, and middle clicks for the button. As of right now, the texture from the button is based on the left click spell.
Timers are getting a complete overhaul, they will look a lot more like the nice timers that other timer mods have.
Oh, I should also mention that the food and water buttons are completely done (with the exception of tooltips). Also, the evocation button is working, but showing the cooldown currently doesn't work. The main sphere is about 80% functional.
The next step is the mana gem button. Once that is done, I may release a beta. However, the spell menu and portal menu won't be done if I do.
Current memory usage is at 112kb.

I was wondering if the option to put any spell in the buttons would include macros. This would be a nice upgrade as u can left click for a macro opening spell combo and then right click for normal spells. Can this be done for the central shpere button too? (we could put the sheep, focus, resheep macro in there =D)
Have you worked/kept the "key bindings" for all the buttons? I think that this is a nice feature to have (above mcro and sheep random message FTW!!!!)
Nice to c all the hard work you are putting on to this.
Hey Paene and jharvey74
I just want to let you know that I am appreciating what you are doing for all the rest and you and I just want to say THANKS for your effort in getting this great addon up to date.
Mystra
Hello all,
I'm currently working on what I'm calling Cryolysis 2. It is a complete re-code of Cryolysis using the the Ace2 libraries found over at http://www.wowace.com. At this point in time, I've almost finished coding the main sphere (textures, casting, information) and will soon begin on the individual buttons. I'm planning on having all of Cryolysis's current features (including the broken ones) as well as some new features. I've also completely re-done the menu, it is now more like menus you see from other Ace2 based mods (Omen, oRA2, Bigwigs, sRaidFrames, etc). Estimated time to beta is approximately 2 weeks (maybe sooner).
I will be making a project page here, but it will only be updated when new patches come out.
-Paene-
If you need beta testers id be glad to test it. i love this addon and would love to see it expand into something huge.
Paene has been added as author on this project. We'll be working together to get Cryolysis up to date. Also, it looks like I've gotten a few files submitted with new localization definitions, so hopefully I'll be able to get the mod updated with those soon as well.
