Past Versions
Cryolysis 2 is now the official release download.
Barring any unforeseen problems, Cryolysis 1 ("Revived", "Reborn", "New Beginning") will no longer be updated/supported. If there is a specific reason(s) you're using Version 1 and need a hot fix to keep it working, you can post here in comments (make sure you note that you are referring to Version 1) or send any member of the team a private message through Curse (list is in the top right corner), and we will try to implement fixes as time permits.
FAQ
- Configuration Menu
To open the Configuration Menu, right-click the Main-Sphere. If you have hidden the main sphere, you can get a list of of commands by typing "/cryo". - Custom Buttons
Custom buttons can now use either spells, items, or macros. Make sure when setting up the custom buttons that you select the correct type (ie: spell, macro, item) and that you press Enter after typing in the name. If you don't press enter, your changes will not be saved. - Spell Timers
Timers have not been implemented yet. As such, the spell timers option should be turned off in the configuration menu for now. These will be implemented sometime after patch 2.4. - Messages/Speeches
Currently, Short Messages have not been implemented. There are a number of different options to display random messages:- USER: Messages will display for you only. Mildly useless, but the functionality is there.
- WORLD: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that /say.
- GROUP: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that it will remain silent. Old Cryo1 Behavior.
- RAID: Messages will display for /raid, bar that it will remain silent.
- PARTY: Messages will display for /party, bar that it will remain silent.
- SAY: Messages will display in /say.
- Localizations
To help localise Cryo2 in your language, download Cryo2 from WoWAce, edit your locale file in the /locales/ and send it to us. Files should be encoded in utf-8.
Other Info
User input is very important, so please post here anything related to the mod's functionality with as much detail as possible. Please only post Cryolysis 2 errors, as the original Cryolysis will no longer be getting updated Thanks.
Necrosys is dead Now...:( Do you think You could get this working for Locks? just a thought lol Loved Necrosys and this look really nice too.. But I dont have amage
@mythbinder: Lomig isn't supporting Necrosis anymore? The original Cryolysis was actually completely based off of Necrosis. Lomig even supported a version of Cryolysis for awhile after TBC comepletely broke it. I did a little looking and it appears that if you wipe out all of your saved variables in the WTF folder for Necrosis, so that it has to comepletely reinitialize, then it should work correctly. There also appears to be another project out there already that is an update to Necrosis (http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9407) , apparently fixing some audio issues. I would try either of those two suggestions. If it's still not working for you then maybe ask on their project page how they (other users of Necrosis) went about getting it working. If none of that works and a lot of people are having trouble with it, then I will take a look. None of my alts are locks though, so it would be very difficult for me to track down problems, but you never know. :)
uh yeah plz update such a good mod, also whenever i log on it doesnt save which buttons i have chosen or where ive moved them. Everytime i log on i have to go to the options ajnd bring out teh right spell button and change what they do. Is there anyway to lock your config for it?
@qvd11: A lot of the configurability of the mod has not been working correcty since the BC patch. You can turn the sheep messages on or off, but you may be stuck with party chat only for now. Also, for the configuration items that do work, don't expect that will correctly save your options, as in most cases it will not.
I'm not making any big changes to the existing mod at this time. I'm focusing on fixing bugs as they pop-up to keep the "needed" functionality working. I had planned to implement some requested functionality and fix some old functionality that isn't currently working (and I am still working on them), but after digging deeper into the lua scripts, I've decided to rebuild the mod as a fully Ace2 version, using the new templates and such. The exisitng code has just been reworked so many times, that it will actually be easier to just re-do it.
@ qvd 11: if i understand right you are removing the buttons from around the main sphere and when you relog they are going back to around the sphere. until a complete rework of the code is done that function is pretty much boned. moving or resizing any of the buttons breaks alot of functionality and they wont be saved.
I have a little issue with it, at first when i was using polymorph it was saying the messages like actions which was fine. But now its only saying them in party chat. And if in not in a party it doesnt say any messages at all. Can someone tell me how to fix this
jharvey74: Sorry about removing the project previously :) These days, its all too common that people try to upload viruses in the guise of old, deceased (but formerly popular) addons. As such, we try to nip those projects in the bud. An empty project tends to be a sign that someone is trying to figure out how to get around our virus scanners (though they haven't so far!).
By the way, I know quite a few people that are going to be very happy that this addon is being resurrected :) The mages in my guild will most likely be eagerly watching this project for a release file.
ohhh, GIEF NOW^^
Well I knew you'd be coming on of course. :) I didn't the write the mod, but since it wasn't being supported anymore, and I couldn't imagine playing my mage w/out it, i took it up.
Errors with 2.2 gone, but it seems to have a pretty serious memory leak according to PerformanceFu
This is confirmed, i'm using both sabella/cryolysis and Venantes, and Cryolysis is the only one of them to have a ~5mb memory increase after 5-10 mins of combat.
@Chuchulain: That's what I've been told. i don't use performanceFu, but I do watch my memory performance, and it never strays above 45M (keep in mind I use alot of mods and that's where it's at when I load up). But....a rework of the code is in the future...whether it's near or distant future just depends on my work. :)
Hello all, some of you may recognize me from when I was working on Cryolysis before. I just sent Jharvey a way to fix the major memory leak in Cryolysis, so hopefully that should be addressed soon. Special thanks to him for picking up where I left off!

woot, possibility of paene and jharvey working together on what is quite possibly the best mage mod ever and finding about them removing the damage coefficients in one week. best week ever for a mage. keep up the great work guys
@caliga4221: usually a "/reloadui" after a patch will usually fix any visual issues with the mod. The mana gem functionality may expect there to be at least 1 gem now, after a previous author reworked it to make it work (sort of) after the 2.0 patch broke it. I haven't used this mod with a low level mage in a long time so I can't gaurantee it's working 100% for lvl 18, etc... I will look at the code and see if i can put a quick fix in though. As far as the buttons slider at the bottom and the other configuartion settings...best to leave them at default for now. That part of the mod has been having issues since the 2.0 patch and I haven't had time to track down the problem yet.
@irrlicht: Sounds like it is a problem specific to the German localisation. Unfortunately I'm not much help with any of the localisations except english. If you (or anyone else) want to take a look at the German localisation files and see if anything looks wrong to you and suggest anything please do.
i have an odd bug to report, i have a green block on my sphere, when i mouse over it i see tooltip that says mana gem, but i am supposed to hvae that button disabled since i am only a lvl 18 right now and dont have access to that spell.
question: on the button setting menu, what are the circles at the bottom that you can scroll through, dont understand what they are but they seem to change the buttons on my sphere with no predictable pattern
Jharvey, you rock. Thanks SO MUCH for updating this! The Metrognome error was driving me insane. It didn't really appear to do much, but I can't stand error messages. -_- You're my hero, lol.
Your new version works flawless aswell, just aswell as the debugged file I made myself xDD
Well, I just took up my notepad++ and debugged it myself - you got some ack functions added somehow which does nothing but interrupt the code - I've got a working file now if your's isn't working as intended yet, I'll test it for ya though :D
LOL, well thanks for the quick test...too bad it failed. Try 1.1.0 again, it's a new file set. I used the wrong editor like a bonehead and it removed some of the formatting from the files on save. :( Fixed now.
