Past Versions
Cryolysis 2 is now the official release download.
Barring any unforeseen problems, Cryolysis 1 ("Revived", "Reborn", "New Beginning") will no longer be updated/supported. If there is a specific reason(s) you're using Version 1 and need a hot fix to keep it working, you can post here in comments (make sure you note that you are referring to Version 1) or send any member of the team a private message through Curse (list is in the top right corner), and we will try to implement fixes as time permits.
FAQ
- Configuration Menu
To open the Configuration Menu, right-click the Main-Sphere. If you have hidden the main sphere, you can get a list of of commands by typing "/cryo". - Custom Buttons
Custom buttons can now use either spells, items, or macros. Make sure when setting up the custom buttons that you select the correct type (ie: spell, macro, item) and that you press Enter after typing in the name. If you don't press enter, your changes will not be saved. - Spell Timers
Timers have not been implemented yet. As such, the spell timers option should be turned off in the configuration menu for now. These will be implemented sometime after patch 2.4. - Messages/Speeches
Currently, Short Messages have not been implemented. There are a number of different options to display random messages:- USER: Messages will display for you only. Mildly useless, but the functionality is there.
- WORLD: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that /say.
- GROUP: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that it will remain silent. Old Cryo1 Behavior.
- RAID: Messages will display for /raid, bar that it will remain silent.
- PARTY: Messages will display for /party, bar that it will remain silent.
- SAY: Messages will display in /say.
- Localizations
To help localise Cryo2 in your language, download Cryo2 from WoWAce, edit your locale file in the /locales/ and send it to us. Files should be encoded in utf-8.
Other Info
User input is very important, so please post here anything related to the mod's functionality with as much detail as possible. Please only post Cryolysis 2 errors, as the original Cryolysis will no longer be getting updated Thanks.
unforunately, had to get rid of cryolyis 2... went back to the old tried and true method...
1) old menu was easier to navigate, seems the new person isn't fully loaded into memory and I could hear my harddrive spin up to get the info, which was annoying
2) what happened to defining keys? i always had my mount as \ and now I have to move my mouse to click a button? no thanks
3) the scaling of the buttons/sphere should be one feature, make them both 150% or 125% for example
A new menu and keybindings are coming in the next release (potentially later tonight). Please give the mod another shot. :) It is still a work-in-progress/beta which means everything is still be adjusted and such.

I have a question about putting spells into the empty custom buttons. What is the format to type the spell into the box? I've tried just using the spell name, (or) /cast + spell name, (or) cast + spell name and I get the error: "Invalid spell. Please check your spelling and try again!"
Just type the name of the spell, case sensitive. If you want Frostbolt you would have to type in "Frostbolt" (without the "s) and press enter. Typing in "frostbolt" will not work (I don't think).

Oh ok! Thank you, works fine now. By chance, will the ability to put macros into the buttons be added in the future?
I would love to see gem status tooltip when you move your mouse over the gem icon, that way you can see what gem needs to be made without actually opening the gem menu. Also adding a config menu would be a plus.
Really needs a central control panel... The right click menu is rather messy and makes it extremely hard to customize... Honestly... I deleted it within 5 mins of using it and returned to Cryolysis Revived because of the menus... Also the scaling of buttons is rather unsightly as there is no gap between the outer buttons and the main sphere (the gap makes it look neater and to prevent accidental clicking of sphere). If there was an option to change this in this addon and I did not notice, then it must be because of the complicated menu...
I really hope you can improve on this Cryolysis 2 (most importantly, give it a control panel and transfer all the menu stuff there and organize them into categories!) and bring Cryolysis back to life :) Keep up the hard work.
Sorry if I sound harsh but I'm just trying to give my honest opinion so that the author can improve on a marvelous mage addon.
New menu is in the next release.
By gap, do you mean an X and/or Y offset from the main sphere?
-Jim-
New menu system is now on the WoWAce svn version...it'll be in the next Cure release as well.
Hey Paene,
Just updated via wau, and now the mana gem has the grow function enabled, but now in order for me to use a mana gem, I have to open the menu up again.
Is this change intentional?
Yes, it was intentional...the issue is that Blizzard doesn't allow buttons to change what spell they can cast and what item they can use while in combat. This prevents me from updating which mana gem the button can use while in combat...which causes problems, because usually you're trying to use a mana gem because you're low on mana and in combat. :) As for conjuring, it can be implemented, but it would only work outside of combat (this isn't much of a problem, since there's really no reason you should be conjuring mana gems in-combat).
I'm working on a workaround for this, and if I can get one to work, I'll most likely have an option to use the mana menu or not.

What to expect in the next release:
-The option to make the menu button menus grow left instead of right (and maybe up/down as well)
-X and Y offsets for the menu button menus
-The beginning workings of the spell timers
-Key Bindings
Works great! Awesome job..thanks!! :)

Thank you
thank you so much for finally fixing so many problems that this addon previously had. Maybe im blind and just couldnt find the button, but for the old cryo there was an option so that menus would appear on the left side of the button. Is this option in this version? If not, are you planning on adding that feature?
It'll be in the next release.
You're right, just about all the bugs are gone.
The center sphere is not staying put when a /reloadui is used though.
LOVE how you did the gem menu with the not conjured gray gems and the colored ready ones. Nice.
Will there be an option to have the menu open on the left or have them move up and down? I like having un-obscured menus...
Great work on the Tooltips. Is there a way to take advantage of Blizz's tooltips and make more info available in the scroll over on Cryolysis like mana costs and effects of the spells on the mouse-over'd button?
Oh, quick thing, mount button wasn't working, figured it was the [Swift Magic Broom] I was using; I was right. Seeing as those are Duration items I guess it doesn't matter if Cryolysis can't see them...
Quick thing pt2: (lol) Made a mistake with my buttons binding wise (put molten armor on the middle click of the wrong custom) and can't get it to go away... Any means of wiping spell bindings once they're in?
I'll add a remove spell bindings option in the future, but you should just able to type in the name of the spell you actually wanted there and hit enter. It should override it.
I can add the broom mounts easily...that way we won't have issues next year. :)
The center sphere is staying in place for me just fine...what settings do you have for sphere and button locking? Try resetting the profile and then doing a /reloadui...it might be an issue with some of the changes to the saved variables.
The tooltips will be improved over time, but atm they're pretty low priority.
-Jim-
I'm having the same problem Jerig had. After a logout or /reloadui, the center sphere moves. I've tried deleting original Cryo saved variables from my folder, and I reset the profile. It still isn't staying put. Any ideas?
