Past Versions
Cryolysis 2 is now the official release download.
Barring any unforeseen problems, Cryolysis 1 ("Revived", "Reborn", "New Beginning") will no longer be updated/supported. If there is a specific reason(s) you're using Version 1 and need a hot fix to keep it working, you can post here in comments (make sure you note that you are referring to Version 1) or send any member of the team a private message through Curse (list is in the top right corner), and we will try to implement fixes as time permits.
FAQ
- Configuration Menu
To open the Configuration Menu, right-click the Main-Sphere. If you have hidden the main sphere, you can get a list of of commands by typing "/cryo". - Custom Buttons
Custom buttons can now use either spells, items, or macros. Make sure when setting up the custom buttons that you select the correct type (ie: spell, macro, item) and that you press Enter after typing in the name. If you don't press enter, your changes will not be saved. - Spell Timers
Timers have not been implemented yet. As such, the spell timers option should be turned off in the configuration menu for now. These will be implemented sometime after patch 2.4. - Messages/Speeches
Currently, Short Messages have not been implemented. There are a number of different options to display random messages:- USER: Messages will display for you only. Mildly useless, but the functionality is there.
- WORLD: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that /say.
- GROUP: Messages will display for /raid, bar that /party, bar that it will remain silent. Old Cryo1 Behavior.
- RAID: Messages will display for /raid, bar that it will remain silent.
- PARTY: Messages will display for /party, bar that it will remain silent.
- SAY: Messages will display in /say.
- Localizations
To help localise Cryo2 in your language, download Cryo2 from WoWAce, edit your locale file in the /locales/ and send it to us. Files should be encoded in utf-8.
Other Info
User input is very important, so please post here anything related to the mod's functionality with as much detail as possible. Please only post Cryolysis 2 errors, as the original Cryolysis will no longer be getting updated Thanks.
Far as I recall, it had to be rewritten mostly because of the memory issues. Wow, did it use alot....
Can't wait to see this finished up. =D
Edit: I see after scrolling down that they seem to have already addressed this question for you. Why ask again?
Also, to help out, and add to what Jerig128 said, a couple things I noticed:
Middleclicking food in 'old' cryo would open a trade and place a stack of water into trade, this no longer works.
Reagents arnt showing up on Slowfall or AI/AB under the spell menu, even if checked.
Would it be possible to make the gem Icon 'grey' until you actually summon your first gem too? I got caught last night (my bad) without a gem because it showed my mana emerald but I didnt actually have one.
Other then that, and Jerig128's things its working as good or better then the old Cryo.
KEEP IT UP!!!
The middle-click to trade feature is in place, it just seems to not be working for some reason. I half works when I try, but I haven't tried anything during combat with it. I'll try to get this working for the next release as well.
The reagent counts for slow fall and AI/AB haven't actually been implemented yet. I'll get them into the next release, as well as the tooltips for the buff menu.
Mana Gem button currently has several small texture glitches that I'm working on fixing, hopefully I'll get those sorted out tonight.
Wonderful Work.
So far so good in terms of errors when I tried it. Glitches though...
The center sphere wouldn't change size but the surrounding buttons would react (move out farther) when I passed the 150% size for the center circle.
Not sure if this was eventually going to be implemented, but using the spell buttons to cast on others currently does not work. Even with a target selected, Arcane Int would only self cast. Hopefully this function will be added.
On a similar note, I remember a WoW 1.x version of Cryolysis having an ability that when a target was selected the food and water buttons would conjure the highest rank usable by the target. I would LOVE to have that back, though I'm not sure if it's possible (but you brought back the mana gem functionality when it was said it couldn't be done so I have oh, infinite confidence in your abilities)
These were the only big things I found that warranted notice aside from the fact that it was a beta.
You're doing a great job and the rate at which you're updating is wonderful. Keep up the fantastic work.
I'm assuming you were referring to the custom buttons only casting on yourself, this will be fixed in the next release. Thanks for reporting the bug, you were the only one to bring this up I believe.
-Jim-
The main sphere scaling bug has already been fixed in the latest SVN version on wowace. It's a bug I had been trying to fix for several releases now...quite an annoying one actually.
I'll check into the buffs only self casting thing...I think I may know the cause of it.
The water and food issue might get a little tricky, but it's something I have planned for down the road. Right now I feel that it's most important to get the mod back to where Cryo1 was.
-Jim-
having a problem with this and polymorph i put it as left clik on left custom button and when i have a critter or enemy that is most definatly able to be poly'd it says invalid
Fixed in the next release, the button was trying to cast Polymorph on you.
-Jim-
Simply great. Really-really thanks :D
Updated!
-Added most tooltips
-Added an option to hide tooltips
-Added some support for characters that aren't level 70
-Updated to-do list
-Added a class check that disables the addon if the character isn't a mage
-Fixed a bug that prevented buttons from staying hidden when the UI was reloaded.
Enjoy,
-Jim-
just noticed something else this morning, haven't worried about disabling Cryolysis for other toons, since it never loaded for anything but mages before. But it is now loading on all my toons. Is the class specific loading disabled in the Beta?
thanks again for the awesome work!
A class check has been implemented with the latest version in the WoWAce SVN. It will now automatically disable the mod if you are not a mage.
-Jim-
It appears that in the Beta version, at least for now, you will have to specifically disable Cryo for other toons.
First a big thank you for taking on this project. I have to say the new interface is a pain! When I move a button it moves the other buttons and arranging them is a real chore. If I get everything but one in place and move that one it changes all the rest??? No tool tips! Half the portal/teleport buttons are missing. Having to type in spells and things to time another pain? The old interface was intutive and easy to use, sliders were wonderful. Sorry but I went back to the old version this is just way to much work. When something works well please don't mess with it just tweak it!
The goal with this project was to make Cryolysis 2 a more customizable mod, while reducing memory and CPU usage. Tooltips are coming (the latest SVN version has the beginnings of them) and the mod is still being developed. A better menu has been asked for by others, but at this time it is not a very important feature in my mind. I'd like to get the last few core features back into the mod and then move on to the Spell Timers.
-Jim-
Cryo 2 is a Beta version. It had to be completely re-written to resolve several issues with it (the most notable being the resource hogging). It will evolve as time permits.
If you scroll down a bit, there's the message that this a beta version, and many functions still not implemnted (tooltips, speeces... ).
The Portals and Teleports became one buttons, left click-teleport, right-portal (the flying/ground mount works the same).
About the button arrangement. At first it suprised me too, but if you check, it's logical. You arrange the buttons as you like (it's easy) and then rotate the sphere.
Typeing spells: maybe not the most elegant way, but sure this is the way that you can put ANY spell into it, not just the few, the addon writher thought. I use only the Arcane Inttelect/Brilliance pair (the other spells are in the spell menu, portal or strategically placed on my UI :D ), but wasn't a big deal to type this spells in.
Thanks for making this an Ace mod! I love the Ace updater!
idk if it is just a remnant from the old version but i am still getting a hardcore memory leak, after about 2 hours cryo 2 was using 18 MB, i will try tomorrow with a WTF file wipe and see what happens.
Are you sure you're using Cryolysis 2? How many buttons do you have around the sphere? Does the mana gem button have a menu?
